About SUNSHINE Charity

SUNSHINE is a new, 100% volunteer-powered movement rewriting the story of loneliness and wellbeing in London. We exist to spark joy, nurture belonging, and create spaces where everyone feels seen, valued, and connected. Our work is bold, people-powered, and rooted in community spirit—not corporate jargon.

We’re almost ready to launch. Our charity status is imminent, our foundations are strong, and our first pilot programmes are on the horizon.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for our founding Volunteer Digital & IT Manager—a thoughtful, detail‑driven, security‑minded tech lead who can build the digital backbone of SUNSHINE.

…then this role is the engine room of SUNSHINE.

You’ll lead on sourcing, setting up, and managing our cloud-based platforms—from CRM and case management tools to email, shared drives, and volunteer systems. You’ll help configure devices, protect our data, and ensure everything we do meets safeguarding and data protection standards.

What You’ll Lead

  • Digital Infrastructure Setup: Source, set up, and manage our cloud-based CRM and case management platforms—ensuring they’re simple, secure, and volunteer-friendly.

  • Systems Management: Configure and maintain our email accounts, shared drives, collaboration tools, and digital platforms so our teams can work smoothly and confidently.

  • Device Configuration: Set up laptops, tablets, and other devices for SUNSHINE use only—ensuring they’re safe, secure, and ready for volunteers.

  • Data Protection & Security: Ensure our systems and processes comply with UK GDPR, safeguarding legislation, and best practice in data security.

  • Troubleshooting & Support: Be the calm, friendly go‑to person when volunteers need help navigating systems or solving tech challenges.

  • Digital Safety Culture: Help build a culture where volunteers feel confident using technology safely, ethically, and responsibly.

  • Cross‑Team Collaboration: Work closely with Operations, Programmes, and Volunteering leads to ensure our digital tools support our mission and amplify our impact.

Ideally, You Will Bring

  • Experience in IT management, digital systems, cloud platforms, or data security.

  • Confidence setting up CRM or case management systems (or a willingness to learn).

  • A calm, methodical approach to problem‑solving.

  • A strong understanding of data protection, safeguarding, and digital safety.

  • A genuine passion for tackling loneliness and improving wellbeing in our communities.

Commitment & Flexibility

This is a voluntary role with no fixed hours. We understand life comes first—your time and energy are gifts, and we’ll always work around your schedule. You can step back or stop volunteering at any time.
