SUNSHINE is a small but ambitious grassroots charity on a big mission: to reduce loneliness and help people feel truly seen, valued and connected. Powered 100% by passionate volunteers, we design joyful community projects, awareness campaigns, partnerships and support services that bring people together, spread joy and community spirit. nurture connection and help boost confidence and wellbeing.

London’s loneliness crisis is a human problem, but it requires a digital solution to scale. SUNSHINE is a startup charity bringing joy and connection to isolated Londoners. We have the vision; now we need a Digital Visionary to build the secure, seamless, and scalable infrastructure that allows our volunteers to change lives safely.

The Architect of our Digital World
As our Founding Digital & IT Lead, you are the guardian of our data and the engine of our efficiency. You won't just be "fixing PCs"—you will be sourcing, building, and managing the entire cloud ecosystem for a city-wide movement.

Your Impact:

  • System Architect: Source and set up our Cloud CRM and Participant Case Management platforms to ensure our connections are tracked and meaningful.
  • Infrastructure Lead: Build and manage our secure Google Workspace/Microsoft 365 environment, including emails and shared drives.
  • Security & Safeguarding: Be the lead on Data Protection (GDPR) and technical safeguarding, configuring devices and permissions to keep our participants safe.
  • Tech Mentor: Empower our team by leading training sessions and providing "calm-in-the-storm" support for volunteers using our platforms.
  • Vendor Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for our cloud providers, ensuring our tech stack is always "Always On."

Who You Are:

  • Tech-Savvy Leader: You have a background in IT management, Systems Administration, or Digital Transformation.
  • A "Secure" Mindset: You understand that in a loneliness charity, data protection and safeguarding are non-negotiable.
  • Patient Educator: You can translate "tech-speak" into simple instructions for volunteers of all digital skill levels.
  • Proactive Problem Solver: You enjoy the challenge of a "blank canvas" startup and can get things done without a manual.

The Logistics:

  • Location: Fully Remote (with occasional strategy meetings in London).
  • Commitment: 4–6 flexible hours per week.
  • Reporting: Reporting to the CEO/COO as the technical authority of the charity.
