SUNSHINE is almost ready to launch. Our charity status is imminent, our foundations are strong, and our first pilot programmes are on the horizon. Now we’re looking for a brilliant, warm‑hearted communicator to help us step confidently into the world.

About SUNSHINE

SUNSHINE is London’s new volunteer‑powered movement for connection, belonging, and brighter days. Our symbol is a yellow fingerprint heart — because every person is unique, every story matters, and every act of kindness leaves a mark.

We’re building a charity that feels human, joyful, grassroots, and full of warmth — and we need someone who can help share that story with the world.

The ROLE

As our first-ever Volunteer Head of External Affairs, you’ll be the voice and bridge of SUNSHINE — helping us build relationships, raise our profile, and connect with the people and partners who can help us grow.

You’ll help us:

• Shape and share SUNSHINE’s story with clarity, warmth, and heart.
• Build relationships with community partners, local organisations, and stakeholders.
• Support media engagement, PR moments, and public‑facing communications.
• Help prepare for the launch of our pilot programmes and SUNSHINE DAY.
• Represent SUNSHINE in meetings, events, and conversations across London and beyond.
• Create simple, joyful ways for people to discover and connect with our work.
• Bring energy, confidence, and sunshine to our external presence.

This is a role for someone who loves people, loves storytelling, and loves building something meaningful from the outside in.

Who YOU ARE

You’re someone who lights up when connecting with others. You understand how to build trust, spark interest, and create relationships that feel human and genuine.

You might be perfect if you:

• Have experience in communications, partnerships, PR, community engagement, or external affairs.
• Are confident speaking about a mission you believe in.
• Love building relationships and opening doors.
• Can turn ideas into clear, compelling messages.
• Enjoy representing an organisation with warmth and authenticity.
• Want to help launch a charity that leads with heart.

You don’t need to have been a Head of External Affairs before — just bring your experience, your confidence, and your sunshine.
