About SUNSHINE Charity

SUNSHINE is a new, 100% volunteer-powered movement rewriting the story of loneliness and wellbeing in London. We exist to spark joy, nurture belonging, and create spaces where everyone feels seen, valued, and connected. Our work is bold, people-powered, and rooted in community spirit—not corporate jargon.

We’re almost ready to launch. Our charity status is imminent, our foundations are strong, and our first pilot programmes are on the horizon.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for our founding Volunteer Programmes & Impact Manager—a creative, community‑minded, high‑energy leader who can turn our mission into meaningful, accessible, joyful programmes across our three core areas:

• Loneliness & Befriending

• Health & Wellbeing

• Community & Outreach

…then this role is the heartbeat of SUNSHINE.

You’ll be our chief designer, champion, and connector—shaping the programmes that will reduce loneliness, build community spirit, and bring warmth and belonging to people across London.

What You’ll Lead

• Programme Design & Delivery: Create simple, joyful, high‑impact programmes across our three core areas—making sure they feel accessible, uplifting, and rooted in community needs.

• Impact & Learning: Develop light-touch ways to understand what’s working, capture stories of change, and help us learn and grow as a movement.

• Volunteer Collaboration: Work closely with our Volunteering Manager to ensure volunteers feel confident, supported, and energised to deliver our programmes.

• Community Connection: Build relationships with local groups, partners, and communities to help SUNSHINE reach people who need us most.

• Energy & Buzz: Bring excitement and momentum to our programmes—helping people feel inspired to join, take part, and spread the word.

• Championing Our Mission: Be a visible, positive presence who embodies our values of warmth, empathy, and connection.

• Cross‑Team Collaboration: Partner with our Brand & Communications, Fundraising, and Operations leads to ensure our programmes are safe, impactful, and celebrated.

Ideally, You Will Bring

• Experience in programme design, community work, wellbeing, social impact, or project leadership.

• A creative, people‑centred approach to building activities and experiences.

• Confidence in connecting with communities and understanding their needs.

• A love for designing things that feel warm, accessible, and joyful.

• A genuine passion for tackling loneliness and improving wellbeing in our communities.

Commitment & Flexibility

This is a voluntary role with no fixed hours. We understand life comes first—your time and energy are gifts, and we’ll always work around your schedule. You can step back or stop volunteering at any time.
