VOLUNTEER Volunteer Coordinator / Manager (Hybrid London)

Help Build, Support, and Celebrate the Volunteer Family at the Heart of SUNSHINE and bring 'sunshine' into peoples lives!!!

SUNSHINE is a brand new, 100% volunteer-powered charity on a mission to rewrite the story of loneliness and wellbeing in the UK. We’re creating warm, joyful, people-first spaces where everyone feels seen, valued, and connected. With our Board in place and our charity registration imminent, we’re preparing to launch our first programmes—and now we’re looking for someone who can help nurture the volunteers who will bring SUNSHINE to life.

The VOLUNTEER Opportunity

We’re looking for a Volunteer Coordinator / Manager to help us welcome, support, and empower the incredible people who choose to give their time to SUNSHINE. You’ll help create a warm, organised, and uplifting volunteer experience—one that makes every person feel valued, supported, and part of something meaningful.

If you love people, enjoy bringing structure to early-stage projects, and want to help build a movement rooted in belonging, this role is perfect for you.

What You’ll Lead & Support

  • Volunteer Journey: Oversee the full volunteer experience—from enquiries and onboarding to ongoing support and check-ins.

  • Recruitment Support: Help coordinate volunteer applications, shortlisting, and introductions to team leaders.

  • Community Building: Create a warm, welcoming environment where volunteers feel connected, appreciated, and part of the SUNSHINE family.

  • Communication: Keep volunteers informed, supported, and encouraged through regular updates and check-ins.

  • Team Coordination: Work closely with team leaders across the charity to understand volunteer needs and match people to the right roles.

  • Organisation: Maintain simple, people-friendly systems for tracking volunteer roles, availability, and engagement.

  • Culture & Care: Help shape a volunteer culture rooted in kindness, clarity, and human connection.

Ideally, You Will Bring

  • Experience in volunteer coordination, people management, HR, or strong transferable skills.

  • A warm, supportive, people-first approach.

  • Good organisational skills and confidence using basic digital tools.

  • A love of helping others feel valued, informed, and connected.

  • A passion for tackling loneliness and improving wellbeing in communities.

  • A collaborative spirit and a gentle leadership style.

Commitment & Flexibility

This is a hybrid role in London, fully flexible volunteer role with no set hours. You choose when and how you give your time, and you can step back at any point if your circumstances change.
