What will you be doing?

All trustees play a vital role in the organisation and help to ensure that we continue to provide support to people who are homeless in Leicester. 

The HR trustee will ensure the highest standards of governance relating to employee relations, recruitment, retention, reward and recognition as well as staff training and development. 

You will also advise the charity in respect of HR matters, ensuring that the charity follows best practice and all regulatory/legal requirements are met.

What are we looking for?

• Up-to-date HR knowledge and experience, and ability to share this with other Trustees. 
• Ability to keep an active overview of all policies pertaining to staffing. 
• Strategic experience. 
• Existing Trustee experience is desirable but not essential. 
• Having an interest in our cause is crucial for all Trustees. 
• You will be committed to work we do but do not need to be knowledgeable as we will induct in this area.

The Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) is an international professional body for town planners with over 27,000 members in 88 countries. The RTPI is seeking a Co-opted Trustee with knowledge and experience in one of the following areas: digital transformation, organisational development or major project development.

What will you be doing?

The RTPI Board of Trustees (BOT) is responsible for making decisions in the following areas.

 Leadership 

• Shaping the RTPI’s corporate planning processes – including the corporate strategy, the business plan, the annual budget and supporting documents such as committee work plans. 
• Ensuring the RTPI has appropriate policies in place on key matters such as health and safety, risk management, data protection and financial management. 

 Statutory responsibilities 

• Ensuring that the Institute is carrying out its purposes for the public benefit

At TOP UK we also know that OCD and phobias are poorly understood, under-funded and stigmatised despite affecting millions of people. OCD and phobia sufferers often tell us how misunderstanding of their conditions leaves them feeling isolated, alone and afraid to seek help. At TOP UK, we believe no one should feel alone in facing their fears 

It is an exciting but testing time at TOP UK and we have just launched an ambitious three-year strategy. While we are eager to embark on this new stage of development for our organisation it comes with an acknowledgment that we are working in particularly uncertain and stressful times and there is a greater need to grow our service than ever before. Demand for our service is at an all-time high and continues to grow, currently dramatically outstripping our capacity. Mental health services are at breaking point leaving those with OCD and Phobias often finding it impossible to find help and dealing with debilitating conditions alone.

Meeting this demand will be a challenge, but it is a challenge we are ready and willing to push for but in order to grow and build our organisation we are keen to evolve, enhance and diversify our Board of Trustees

The role is open to those from the public, private and voluntary sectors. Non-Member Trustee / Lay Trustee

We are looking for a non-member trustee to serve as a vital representative of the broader public within the UKKA governance structure. This role contributes diverse perspectives, ensures transparency, and fosters accountability in decision-making processes.

While the non-member trustee may not possess specific knowledge or expertise in kidney care, their unique perspective and community-orientated approach will enrich the diversity of thought within the board of trustees and contribute to the association's overall success.

The Photographic Collections Network (PCN) is seeking an interim Treasurer with expertise in accountancy and/or charity finance and reporting to join our board of Trustees. 

We are on the journey to becoming a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), and this will bring great opportunities for us to expand our reach and provide support for the UKs photographic collections and heritage. We are looking for people to help us to build this potential so we can better deliver on our aims. Are you the person that can help lead this change? 

You will oversee the financial matters of the Photographic Collections Network in line with good practice and in accordance with the governing document and legal requirements, and report to the Board of Trustees at regular intervals about the financial health of the organisation. • Marketing & Communications – we want to reach new audiences to ensure a diverse and inclusive approach, and we are aiming to do that at scale. You may have experience of providing strategic support for increasing our reach and visibility. 

• Marine Conservation - you might have environmental knowledge, ideally on the marine environment, with policy and/or practical experience of conservation. A network of contacts across the marine sector, particularly with business or government, would be an advantage.

What you can bring to our Board can be just as interesting as where you’ve been working. You do not need to have previous charity trustee experience, but you will need to be comfortable participating at a senior level with complex discussions and the need to be comfortable making pragmatic but key decisions.
