Trustee-Clinical Lead and a Trustee-Primary School Lead are needed by Joe's Buddy Line a growing youth mental health charity, established in 2021. Working with schools, families and communities, we help children and young people develop the confidence, skills and support networks they need to thrive.

A society where mental and physical health are given equal importance, and where every child and young person feels confident, resilient and able to seek support when they need it.

 Our Mission

To provide accessible and empowering mental health and wellbeing support to children, young people and the adults around them. Through education, resources, early intervention and advocacy, we help create environments where conversations about mental health are open, supportive and free from stigma.

 What We Do

Our work spans primary schools, secondary schools and community settings, taking a whole-school and whole-community approach to mental health and wellbeing.

Key areas of work include:

• Everyone Ask Twice: a whole-school programme for secondary schools.
• Buddy Builders: a primary-school wellbeing programme.
• Wellbeing Ambassadors: training young people as peer wellbeing champions.
• Youth Mental Health First Aid and other training for adults working with young people.
• Resources and safe spaces, including Buddy Rooms, Buddy Benches, Buddy Boards and Buddy Boxes.

It is an exciting time to join us. We have recently refreshed our three-year business plan and are focused on strengthening our impact, growing our programmes, developing new partnerships and ensuring the charity's long-term sustainability.

We are currently recruiting two new trustees to help shape this next phase of our journey. Previous trustee experience is not required. We welcome applications from people with a range of backgrounds and experiences who share our commitment to improving the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people.

We are particularly seeking:

Trustee - Clinical Lead

A qualified child and adolescent psychiatrist, psychologist or senior clinician with in depth knowledge and experience of supporting children and young people, who can champion provide strategic guidance on mental health, clinical best practice, safeguarding, programme development and emerging sector trends.

Trustee - Education (Primary School) Lead
An experienced primary education professional (5 years minimum in a teaching role) who will champion current primary school thinking throughout the organisation. Someone who can bring insight into the realities of primary education, helping to ensure our programmes and strategic plans remain relevant, effective and grounded in current practice.
