Settle is a charity that supports young adults as they leave the care system and move into their first home. We provide intensive one-to-one coaching support, helping young people develop the skills and confidence they need to sustain their tenancies, manage their finances and live independently. Our preventative approach to homelessness helps care-experienced young people build stable foundations and thrive in adulthood.

All our Trustees bring different personal experience and professional expertise to support our work. To make sure we keep young people at the centre of our decision-making, we aim to always have at least two Trustees with care experience.

We are now looking for new Trustees to help us deliver our mission. We are seeking people with experience in one or more of the following areas:

· Policy influencing and/or strategic communications

· Support for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness

· Support for people seeking asylum and refuge

Our aim is to recruit at least two new Trustees, who between them bring experience across all three areas. We don’t expect you to lead an area of work at Settle – that’s the responsibility of the staff team. We are keen to benefit from your advice, insight and understanding of the key issues we’re dealing with.

Trustees, including a treasurer, are needed for a leading charity helping people with dissociative disorders. 

CDS UK (Clinic for Dissociative Studies) is a specialist service offering assessments and treatment for people with dissociative disorders and an independent charitable provider to the NHS.

CDS provides diagnosis, outpatient treatment, clinical supervision, consultancy and training all over the UK. We also participate in research and education, contributing to what we hope is a greater understanding of dissociative disorders.

Dissociative disorders typically arise in response to extreme and repetitive trauma and/or abuse in early childhood. Dissociation can be a survival mechanism and adaptive response to overwhelming and traumatic experiences, enabling an individual to endure life events that no one person could be expected to manage without a severe impact on their wellbeing. Trustees are central to ensuring that CDS provides the best possible help for extremely vulnerable clients.

Dorothy House is seeking an exceptional and inspirational leader to join its Board of Trustees with the intention of becoming the charity's next Chair.

Appointment Process While this recruitment process is being undertaken with the intention of identifying Dorothy House's next Chair, appointment as Chair cannot take place until the individual has first been appointed as a Trustee. Subject to the Board's decision and the provisions of the Articles of Association, appointment as Chair may take place immediately following appointment as a Trustee.

Artemis was founded in 2007 and has been delivering high-quality performing arts education in Bracknell ever since. 
The charity is now operating at scale and is on track to achieve a turnover of £1 million in 2026, delivering theatre, dance and cheer provision alongside education and wellbeing outcomes for children, young people and adults. Hibiscus continues to develop specialist services from an intersectional feminist and trauma-informed perspective addressing everyday experiences of violence to which women are subjected and institutional harms.

LGBT Foundation is governed by a board of trustees who also serve as directors of the company. Our various arrangements for governance are brought together in one place within our governance manual, which is reviewed on a bi-annual basis, and amended as and when applicable. This helps to ensure we remain responsible, robust and resilient. 

The board of LGBT Foundation is the first and last decision-making mechanism of the charity and trustees also constitute the membership of the charity. The board has several mechanisms in place to consult with key stakeholders, (such as staff, volunteers and service users), to inform our work and decision-making. 

All new trustees are required to undertake an induction programme, including the provision of an extensive induction pack, staff presentations, and peer mentoring as desired. Trustee training needs are assessed, and a programme of internal and external training arranged on an annual basis to meet these needs. 

Trustees are not remunerated, but reasonable expenses to attend meetings can be claimed.

Trustees are ultimately accountable for the organisation and their governance responsibilities include: 

• Setting and maintaining vision, mission, and values 
• Developing strategy together with the CEO 
• Ensuring suitable policies and documents exist 
• Ensuring compliance with the law, the governing document and charitable objects 
• Maintaining proper financial oversight 
• Maintaining effective board performance including board appraisals 
• Promoting the organisation and protecting its reputation 
• Recruiting and supporting the CEO 

Role Accountabilities

Trustees are expected to contribute around 8 hours per month, including: 

• Quarterly Board meetings (usually on a Saturday, occasionally a weeknight evening, in person) 
• Annual AGM (quarterly preceding October’s Board meeting, in person) 
• Service on 2 standing committees (4-6 times per year, remotely, weeknight evenings) 
• Participation in selected events, learning, or campaigns 

Trustees need to allow enough time to prepare for meetings by reading the paperwork, and doing any other preparatory reading, research or thinking to fully engage and contribute to robust discussion and decision-making.

To support the work of our board, we have three committees. These are: 

Fundraising & Marketing Committee – maintains an overview of strategic fundraising, marketing, and communications. 

Finance, Audit, Risk & Governance Committee – maintains a scrutiny and review role to ensure effective financial, people and systems management and ensuring that effective governance structures are in place across the 6organisation. 

People, Performance & Resources Committee – maintains an overview of project, people and programme performance, ensuring that (i) quality is maintained and/or increased; (ii) set targets are achieved; and (iii) ideas for innovation are explored.

Are you a care leaver, foster carer or kinship carer? We are looking for new Trustees to join our Board and would particularly love to hear from people with lived experience relevant to our work.

Who we are

The Roots Foundation Wales is an award-winning charity based in Swansea. We support young people in care as they transition to independent living and into adulthood and we also support foster and kinship carers. Our beautiful centre was featured on BBC's DIY SOS and Children in Need in 2017 and we are proud of the community we have built here.

With the help of our young people and carers we have developed a new 3-year Strategic Plan and in 2027 we will be opening a new house with further accommodation for young people.

What we are looking for

We are expanding our Board and are particularly keen to recruit Trustees with lived experience of care, including care leavers and kinship carers. We also encourage applications from young people, disabled people and Welsh speakers and from people based in Swansea and the surrounding area.

As a Trustee you will:

Trustee with social care experience

Style Acre is a dynamic and creative charity supporting people with learning disabilities and/or autism across Oxfordshire.

We are looking for a committed and motivated individual with social care experience and who is aligned to our vision to create communities where people with learning disabilities and autism are valued as equals and to our values of caring, respect, honesty, ambition, and collaboration.

The role of a Trustee is unpaid and voluntary. We expect all Trustees to actively contribute to the work of the Board, using their skills and experience to give strategic direction, evaluate performance, and ensuring the charity is run efficiently and effectively. Duties
As a Trustee, you will be expected to:

Your expert understanding of charity and/or company accounts and financial management will ensure that trustees exercise their financial responsibilities. You will act as lead trustee on overseeing the annual audit, and advise on financial procedures, regular financial reporting and forecasting.

This will involve chairing the Trust’s Audit Committee, which meets once a year to receive draft charity accounts and audit reports for The Abbotsford Trust and its subsidiary Abbotsford Trading Company. The Committee is responsible for recommending accounts for approval to the Board of Directors, and for making recommendations on the appointment of auditors.

You will exercise oversight of the Trust’s financial management throughout the year through membership of the Executive Committee, which meets up to 10 times a year to receive financial reports from management. Trading Company management accounts are the responsibility of a separate Trading Company Board.

This role will suit someone with professional accountancy qualifications and experience of audited accounts. Ideally, but not necessarily, you will have experience of charity accounts.

About the role

This is a voluntary, non-executive governance role with a time commitment of just 2 to 3 hours per month. As Finance Trustee, you will Chair our Finance and Fundraising Sub-Committee, providing board-level oversight of LAH's financial health: reviewing management accounts, scrutinising budgets and forecasts, ensuring our financial controls are robust, and supporting the wider Board of Trustees at Latin American House to understand financial risk and sustainability.

You will work closely with LAH Director and finance team, contributing to the approval of annual accounts and budgets, and ensuring we meet our Charity Commission and Companies House obligations.

This is strategic oversight, not day-to-day operations - the hands-on finance work stays with our staff.

The Penny Brohn UK National Centre offers external organisations a unique environment for their own business use which includes daily and residential bookings as well as tenancy agreements.  Due to a successful period of growth in recent years, the charity would welcome the expertise of a Trustee with significant experience in this area who can support the development of this income stream further.

New Trustees are fully supported through a planned induction into the organisation, starting with an introduction to each area of the Charity.

Time commitment
The Trustee Board meet four times in-person each year at the National Centre in Bristol on Fridays, generally between 9am – 4pm.  Trustee representation is also required on one or two online sub-committees, which are held up to four times per year for each committee and Trustees will be appointed to the sub-committees once recruited into post in accordance with their relevant skills and experience.  Attendance is also required for the AGM and an annual Trustee Away Day as well as occasional events or strategic discussions

Attendance at Key Events
As ambassadors for the Charity, the Trustee Board is encouraged to ensure that there is Trustee representation at key events throughout the calendar year such as fundraising, networking and other high-profile events.

Tenure
Trustees are appointed for a three-year term with a maximum appointment of four terms (12 years).

 Expenses
All Trustees are eligible to be reimbursed for expenses incurred whilst on Board business, this includes attendance at Board Meetings.  Eligible expenses include:

• Reimbursement of petrol costs, rate currently set at 45p per mile, (15p per mile after 500 miles incurred annually) or the equivalent 2nd class rail fare, whichever is the lower.
• Any car parking fees associated with the travel.
