Urban Youth – Steering Committee / Management Committee / Board Members Wanted
2-3 Hours Per Month with Bi-Monthly Meetings (EVENING BASED)
Help us build a youth charity that young Londoners will feel proud to call theirs.
We’re so excited to be launching Urban Youth — a brand new London youth work charity created to give young people experiences, opportunities, and the space to discover themselves and the world around them. This is a youth community built on care, creativity, belonging and real connection… and now we’re looking for a small group of brilliant people to help guide us through our start‑up phase.
We’re searching for our first Steering Committee / Management Committee / Board Members — people who care deeply about young people, community, and building something meaningful from the ground up.
This isn’t a distant, formal board role. It’s collaborative, hands‑on, and full of purpose. You’ll be working closely with our Founder & CEO to shape the foundations, systems, and direction of Urban Youth as we launch.
What you’ll be helping us create
Together, you’ll help us build:
-
the policies, procedures and structures that keep young people safe and supported.
-
a strong, values‑driven foundation for our programmes and operations.
-
key community and professional connections that help us grow.
-
opportunities, partnerships and networks that open doors for Urban Youth.
-
a supportive space where ideas are shared, challenges are solved, and everyone works towards the same goal.
This is more than a governance role — it’s a chance to help shape a youth movement that will support young people for years to come.
Who we’re looking for
Someone who:
-
cares deeply about young people and community impact.
-
enjoys working collaboratively and being part of a team with a shared mission.
-
can bring experience, insight or connections that help a new charity grow.
-
is comfortable helping to create policies, procedures and good governance.
-
is willing to network, make introductions and open doors where possible.
-
wants to use their skills, voice and experience to make a real difference in London.
If you’re the kind of person who loves building things with others — not just talking about it — you’ll fit right in.
What you’ll get
-
The chance to shape the entire direction and foundation of a brand‑new youth charity.
-
A meaningful leadership role that directly impacts young people’s lives.
-
A collaborative, supportive team who genuinely value your time and insight.
-
The joy of building something powerful, personal and full of heart.
-
Something that looks great on your CV and gives you real governance experience.
-
A reference for your contribution, after 6–8 months.
-
The knowledge that you helped create a youth movement that will outlast all of us.
If you’re excited by the idea of helping us build something bold, youth‑centred and full of heart, we’d love to hear from you. Come help us create the foundations of a charity that young people will connect with — and feel proud to be part of.
Let’s build something unforgettable together.
Let’s build Urban Youth.
Positive and engaging youth work activities and programmes that help young people discover themselves, build life skills and help shape their destiny.
