TRUSTEES (VOLUNTEER ROLE)

URBAN YOUTH is a bold new grassroots youth work charity in inner London, creating vibrant, screen‑free spaces where young people connect with inspiring adult role models, build confidence, and discover who they can become.

We’re building something big, a community, a family, a London-born youth culture rooted in positivity, creativity and belonging.

To guide this movement, we’re recruiting passionate, committed Trustees — including a Chair, Treasurer, Secretary, and general Trustees — to help steer Urban Youth into our first chapter.

WHAT YOU’LL DO AS A TRUSTEE

As part of our Board, you’ll help shape the strategic direction, governance and long‑term impact of Urban Youth. You’ll:

• Provide leadership, oversight and accountability.

• Champion our mission and ensure we stay youth‑centred.

• Support the development of safe, high‑quality youth work.

• Help us grow sustainably and responsibly.

• Bring your skills, insight and passion to a movement that’s just beginning.

This is a role for someone who believes in young people, cares about community, and wants to help build something meaningful for London.

CHAIR OF TRUSTEES

Lead the Board. Inspire the vision. You’ll guide discussions, support the CEO/Founder, ensure strong governance, and help Urban Youth grow with clarity, confidence and purpose.

TREASURER

Guard the finances. Strengthen our future. You’ll oversee financial planning, budgeting and reporting, helping us stay sustainable and ready for growth.

SECRETARY

Keep us organised. Keep us compliant. You’ll support governance processes, maintain records, and ensure the Board runs smoothly and professionally.

WHO YOU ARE

We’re looking for people who are:

• Passionate about young people and social impact.

• Committed to good governance and ethical leadership.

• Strategic thinkers with warmth, integrity and curiosity.

• Ready to bring their skills, experience or lived experience to the table.

• Able to volunteer a few hours a month to help shape a movement.

You don’t need previous trustee experience — just commitment, clarity, and a belief in what young Londoners can become.
