Job description

WANTED: THE VOICE OF THE STREET.

ROLE: VOLUNTEER COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER

THE MISSION: BROADCAST THE DROP. BUILD THE NOISE.

If a drop happens and nobody sees it, did it even hit? URBAN YOUTH is more than a charity; it’s a broadcast. We don’t "report"—we storytell.

We need a Communications Manager who understands how to turn a 3-hour pop-up into a month of digital heat. You’re the one who makes sure the city knows we’re coming, and the world knows what we achieved.

This is your frequency. Own it.

THE MISSION DEBRIEF

Your objective is to keep the URBAN YOUTH signal loud, clear, and high-contrast:

  • THE NARRATIVE: Telling the story of our young people (The Architects) with dignity and hype. No "pity" stories—only power stories.

  • THE DROP STRATEGY: Managing the countdowns. Coordinating the "Leaks," the "Live Clips," and the "Mission Debriefs" across Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn.

  • THE PRESS HUSTLE: Getting the brand into the right ears—from local street blogs to national news and industry podcasts.

  • THE BRAND GUARD: Making sure every piece of content—from a tweet to a flyer—is strictly Black, White, and High-Vis Yellow.

THE SPECS

Who you are:

  • Digital Native: You live on the grid. You know the difference between a "post" and a "moment."

  • Wordsmith: You can write a professional funding update in the morning and a high-energy "Drop Announcement" in the afternoon.

  • Strategic: You don't just post for the sake of it; you post to build a movement.

  • Visual Thinker: You work hand-in-hand with the Graphic Designer and the Crew to ensure the "Vibe" is always 10/10.

THE REWARDS

  • The Platform: You get to shape the voice of London's most exciting new youth brand.

  • The Network: Build connections with journalists, influencers, and community leaders.

  • The Crew: Full URBAN YOUTH "Crew" kit and direct access to the Co-CEOs for strategy.

  • The Impact: Your words and videos are the reason a young person decides to show up to a drop and change their life.

HOW TO SECURE THE SIGNAL

WE DON'T WANT A COVER LETTER. WE WANT A HEADLINE.

TO APPLY:

Send us a link to your best work or a 3-slide "Comm's Strategy" for our next drop.

  • Bonus: Write us a 150-character Instagram caption for a "Secret Location" drop.
