Job description

Be the heartbeat of a new urban youth movement

Urban Youth is a brand new start-up London-based, volunteer-powered youth collective taking youth work back to the streets — estates, parks, unused spaces, anywhere young people already are. We move fast, cut the red tape, and create high‑impact, short-term projects that build confidence, skills, and community.

To build a movement, you need people. To build the right movement, you need someone who can spot energy, nurture talent, and bring out the best in every volunteer who joins us.

That’s where you come in......

What you’ll do

  • Lead the full volunteer journey — recruiting, onboarding, supporting, and celebrating our dream team.

  • Be the first face of Urban Youth for new volunteers: warm, confident, and able to communicate our mission with clarity and energy.

  • Shape and protect our culture: inclusive, youth-centred, fast-moving, and grounded in real community.

  • Run smooth, welcoming onboarding sessions that help volunteers feel part of something bigger from day one.

  • Support volunteers across projects, making sure they feel valued, equipped, and connected.

  • Work closely with our Founder to build a team that reflects our values and the communities we serve.

What we’re looking for

  • A natural people person — someone who lights up a room and makes others feel seen.

  • Confident communicator who presents well in person and online.

  • Someone who can build trust quickly and bring out the best in people from all backgrounds.

  • Organised, reliable, and able to keep track of multiple volunteers and moving parts.

  • A culture‑builder who understands the power of belonging, recognition, and shared purpose.

  • Passion for youth empowerment, community, and doing things differently.

What you’ll help build

  • A volunteer team that feels like a family, not a workforce.

  • A culture where people feel proud to show up, contribute, and grow.

  • A movement where young people are at the centre — supported by adults who genuinely care.

  • A recruitment and onboarding experience that feels human, warm, and energising, not corporate.

What you’ll get

  • A chance to shape the founding culture of a new youth movement in London.

  • Real leadership experience in people, culture, and community-building.

  • A front-row seat to the growth of a grassroots, street-level youth collective.

  • A supportive, creative team that values your voice and ideas.

Time commitment

Flexible and project-based. We work fast, but we work around your life.

How to get involved

If you’re someone who brings people together, lifts others up, and loves building community, we’d love to meet you.
