ROLE: VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR
LOCATION: HYBRID / LONDON
THE MISSION
URBAN YOUTH is only as strong as its Squad. We are a collective of industry professionals, mentors, and rebels who give their time to bridge the gap. We need a Volunteer Coordinator who can find the right people, get them "vetted and ready," and keep the energy high.
You aren't just managing a database; you’re the gatekeeper of our culture and the heartbeat of the squad.
THE GIG
-
The Recruitment: Scouting for "Creative Rebels" and "Mission Specialists" who fit the B&W ethos.
-
The Onboarding: Taking volunteers from "interested" to "active"—handling DBS checks and inductions with zero lag.
-
The Vibe Check: Ensuring our volunteers feel valued, connected, and clear on their mission for every "drop."
-
The Rota: Managing the "4-hours-a-month" commitments to ensure our signature events are always fully staffed.
ABOUT YOU
-
A People Person (with an Edge): You can spot talent and "culture fit" a mile off. You know who’s doing it for the "gram" and who’s doing it for the youth.
-
High Efficiency: You hate "bureaucratic lag." You move volunteers through the pipeline fast so we don't lose their momentum.
-
The Communicator: You’re a pro on WhatsApp, Slack, or email. You keep the Squad informed without spamming them.
-
London Connected: You know where to find the city’s most talented professionals who are looking for a way to give back.
THE COMMITMENT
Flexible and task-based. We need a push during the Launch Phase to build the initial Squad, followed by roughly 8 hours a month to manage the flow of new recruits and event rotas.
THE PERKS
-
Community Power: You’ll be at the centre of a network of London’s most exciting creative and professional mentors.
-
Social Impact: You are the person who connects the mentor to the young person. Without you, the scaffolding doesn't stand.
-
Movement Building: Help us create a new gold standard for how volunteers are treated in the urban youth sector.
HOW TO APPLY
Skip the formal HR letter. We want to see how you handle people.
Reply with:
-
The "Vibe Check": How do you ensure a volunteer is "Urban Youth material" in just one conversation?
-
The Experience: One example of a time you’ve coordinated a group of people (even if it was just a five-a-side team or a birthday bash).
-
The Tools: What’s your preferred way to keep a team of busy volunteers organised?
URBAN YOUTH.
