WANTED: THE VISUAL ARCHITECT
ROLE: VOLUNTEER GRAPHIC DESIGNER & BRAND LEAD
LOCATION: REMOTE / THE STREETS
PALETTE: BLACK & WHITE ONLY. NO GREY AREAS.
THE MISSION
URBAN YOUTH doesn’t do "corporate." We do high-impact, urban-style youth work that looks as sharp as it feels. We need a designer who can take our "Black & White" ethos and turn it into a brand that stands out on a brick wall, a smartphone screen, and a t-shirt.
You aren't just making a logo; you’re building the visual armour of a movement.
THE GIG
-
The Identity: Finalising the URBAN YOUTH logo and creating a "Brand Bible" (fonts, textures, grain).
-
The Launch Kit: Designing the first wave of "Signature Event" posters and digital flyers.
-
The Merch: Creating the "B&W" designs for our squad lanyards, t-shirts, and stickers.
-
Social Assets: Building templates for our Comms/Hype Lead to ensure every "Drop" looks consistent.
ABOUT YOU
-
A Minimalist with an Edge: You understand that "Less is More." You love urban design, brutalist typography, and high-contrast photography.
-
Urban Minded: You know what looks good in London. You understand the "Street" aesthetic and how to make it feel premium yet accessible.
-
The Toolkit: You’re a pro with the Adobe Suite (Illustrator/Photoshop/InDesign) or Canva/Figma, and you know how to export for both print and digital.
-
The Visionary: You don’t just take orders; you bring ideas. You want to create something that people actually want to wear.
THE COMMITMENT
Flexible and task-based. We need a heavy lift during the Launch Phase (to get the brand ready), then approximately 2 hours a month to support the "Signature Event" drops.
THE PERKS
-
Portfolio Gold: A rare chance to build a brand identity from the ground up for a project that actually matters.
-
Creative Freedom: Within the "Black & White" constraint, the floor is yours.
-
Legacy: Your designs will be the first thing a young person sees when they discover URBAN YOUTH.
HOW TO APPLY
Forget the CV. We need to see your eye.
Reply with:
-
3 B&W Samples: Show us three pieces of work that fit the "Urban/Minimalist" vibe.
-
The "URBAN YOUTH" Concept: In one sentence, tell us how you would make a black-and-white flyer "pop" on a crowded London street.
-
The Tools: What’s your go-to software?
