Background
We at The Melody & Soul Project CIC are a firm believers in the transformative power of music, We are confident that introducing therapeutic singing to hospitals/care homes can provide numerous benefits to those receiving care at the hospitals/homes as music, and particularly singing has been proven to have a positive impact on mental, emotional, and physical well-being.
We are happy to expand the team and thereby calling on volunteer singers willing to contribute to the therapeutic atmosphere at various hospitals/care homes.
Requirements
· You must be reliable, show strong commitment and enthusiasm as well as a genuine interest in singing to sick/vulnerable people of all age category.
· You should enjoy working with people of different believes, ethnicity, values other than yours and be able to engage their attention with your expressive personality.
· You should be opened to sometimes singing religious songs.
Expected hours: Maximum of 1hr per week

We are looking to recruit an Administration Volunteer for the Lancaster, Morecambe and District Group. Our Administration Volunteers are the linchpin for our local groups’ activities. They act as the first point of contact and they make sure all relevant information is circulated to other volunteers and members. And they play an important role in keeping our data and details up to date to comply with data protection legislation.
In this role you’ll develop your administration and organisation skills. Most importantly you’ll be help your local group run efficiently, so they can keep providing valuable services to our MS community.
Time Commitment
We estimate this role will need around 2 hours a week. Our roles are flexible and aim to fit around you. Time commitments for this role may vary depending on your activities. This is an ongoing role.
This is a great opportunity to gain experience within a large charity and develop your existing skills and learn new ones. We need you to get involved and help make positive changes to the lives of people affected by MS.

You’ll have an interest in the MS Society and the work that we do, as well as the enthusiasm to represent both us and our values locally. We are looking for cat-loving volunteers to play a vital role in helping us improve the wellbeing of the cats in our care whilst they wait to be rehomed. Can you help them by providing a calm and caring home whilst we find their purrfect forever home?
Here at Bluebell Ridge RSPCA Centre, we have been rehabilitating and rehoming unwanted, stray and abandoned cats for 23 years.
We'd now like to expand our team of volunteer fosterers so we can offer an alternative rehoming journey for those who don't cope as well in a cattery environment and would benefit from one-to-one behavioural or medical support.
As a cat fosterer, you would be supporting the RSPCA in providing our cats with the safety of your home whilst tending to their welfare needs such as feeding and grooming. In addition to this, by providing a temporary loving environment, you will play a crucial role in a cat’s wellbeing and socialisation, which will significantly improve their chances of successful rehoming.
Once everything is in place, the animal centre will guide you through the fostering process and ensure that you have all the necessary equipment, food, and veterinary care for your fostered cat. The RSPCA is also happy to reimburse any other pre-agreed expenses that you may incur through volunteering for us.
Whilst our cats are in your foster care, you will:
● Provide them with care, suitable housing, and a safe environment as per our policies and guidelines.
● Feed, water, and groom them in line with our advice.
● Transport them to any veterinary appointments if required.
● Provide them with your time and patience.
● Help us spread the word about the cats in your care so they might find their forever home quicker.
● Playing and cuddles are also a must!
What we are looking for in a volunteer Cat Fosterer:
● Volunteers aged 18 or over who have had plenty of experience caring for cats.
- Based in in our region which covers Camber to Bexhill and north to Hurst Green
● Fostering experience is beneficial but not essential as training is provided.
● For their wellbeing, our cats need to be kept in a separate room, so the whole family should be on board.
● Any existing pets or animals need to have been spayed/neutered (some medical reasons may mean they cannot be, so please let us know if this is the case).

Key Responsibilities
1. General Administrative Support:
· Taking rescue calls and dispatching rescuers
· Managing general public enquiries

Without managing our office and administration efficiently we will have significantly less time and resources to support swans who desperately need our help and face an uncertain future as a result of the Nature emergency and Avian flu. The work you do to ensure our administration is efficient and effective will really help us continue to sustain Swan Lifeline for the future.
At Sense we know that it's not easy being a young carer or sibling of a disabled child. Their wellbeing and happiness are just as important. That’s why Sense supports activities and sessions specifically for young people aged 5-18 who have a caring role for a parent, carer, or sibling.
We run a range of virtual and in person activities throughout the month. Our sessions are based on what the young people tell us they like doing, giving them a break, and also providing opportunities to meet and develop friendships with other young people in a similar situation.
Our Siblings and Young Carers in person activity group sessions take place once a month. Activities include picnics, bowling, arts and crafts and rock climbing, enabling the young people to spend time doing fun things with other siblings and young carers with similar experiences.
You do not need to have any previous experience working with siblings or young carers as we will provide you with training and ongoing support to equip you for your role.

Practical Considerations
This project is based in Loughborough, either at our Sense College or out in the community . Our activity group runs once per month, for 3.5 hours on a Saturday. Ideally you would be able to commit to at least 6 months of volunteering.
An essential part of getting ready to volunteer is attending a training session where you'll learn more about your volunteer role, the specific needs of children and young carers and how to keep young people on the project safe.
Your travel expenses will be covered by Sense.
You must be 18 or over to volunteer. We collect two references for this role as well as complete a Child and Adult Enhanced DBS.
Be part of something special and volunteer at MS Walk Birmingham. Join an incredible team of volunteers who will be helping to make MS Walk 2024 bigger and better than ever.
The 2024 event will have around 200 participants who will be walking through Birmingham on either the 1km, 5km or 10km route.
Together these participants will be hoping to raise over £20,000 for the MS Society to help support the MS Community.
There are various roles available on the day from making some noise and encouraging our walkers, to looking after the route and handing out medals at the finish.
Join our team of MS Walk volunteers and support everyone who is walking, rolling and strolling to stop MS.
You'll be required on 1st June 2024 for one day and there are various times throughout the day. Shifts will be from 2-6 hours depending on role and location.
There are no specific skills required just enthusiasm and a can-do attitude.’

About the role

The Trustee Board consists of the Chair, Treasurer and 7 other members. Board members are responsible for overall governance of the organisation, including oversight of its strategic direction and financial management.
Our existing Chair is stepping down in December 2024 which will allow a handover time with the new Chair.
In terms of time commitment, there are 5 board meetings per year, 2 development meetings and an AGM. Additionally the Chair will meet regularly, either in person or virtually, with the Chief Executive and other Trustees. This is an unpaid position but all reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.

You will be fully supported during this time and on successful completion will understand different mindfulness, wellbeing, resilience and coping techniques and be confident in leading the peer support within these groups.
2. Prepare for and lead the peer support for a minimum of three Mindful Mums groups (over 5 consecutive weeks). Group dates and times will be discussed with you in advance.
3. Liaise with the Project Coordinator regarding sessions that need volunteers.
4. Contribute to the development of the content of the Mindful Mums sessions based on your experience as a parent.
5. Report any concerns arising from the sessions to the Project Coordinator and, where appropriate, the contact at the venue.
6. Participate in catch-up meetings with the Project Coordinator, group volunteer meetings and training on Safeguarding Children and Adults.
7. Take part in some Mindfulness practise.
8. At all times work in accordance with the organisation’s policies regarding Health & Safety, Equality & Diversity, Safeguarding Children, Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults and Confidentiality & Data Protection.
Person Specification
To undertake the role of Mindful Mums Peer Support Volunteer, you must be able to show that you have the following:
o Experience of having felt stressed, low, anxious or have struggled with your mental or emotional wellbeing in other ways during the perinatal period (pregnancy to 1 year).
o Ability to communicate well with other mums.
o Skills to effectively facilitate sessions.
o Good interpersonal skills.
o Ability to work well in a team.
o Understanding of the pressures and stresses facing pregnant and new mums.
o Willingness to engage in some Mindfulness practise.
o Willingness to talk from your own experience in an appropriate way.
o Ability to maintain appropriate and professional boundaries.
o A commitment to attend training, support groups and to deliver 5-week programmes in Children & Family Centres across Bexley, or online via Zoom.

Successful applicants will be required to provide details of two references and agree to submit details for and undertake a Disclosure and Barring Services (DBS) check.
The majority of courses will be run during school term times.
Free crèche facilities are sometimes available at the Children & Family Centres.
