Give as much (or little) time as you can afford. With this new role, you simply volunteer when it works for you. That means you can give as much time as you like or as little as 24 hours across a whole year, whenever it suits you. It’s perfect for busy lives, changing schedules, or for anyone seeking a low-commitment involvement.

Once we have completed your selection and screening for this role, we will provide you with an induction, as well as invite you to any necessary training sessions. We require the successful candidate's to assist with the Tamworth Network in Community Engagement Events and Fundraising Events. This will involve setting up and putting away the Gazebo's, Flags, Promotional Material and Equipment. Will also include speaking to members of the public about St John and what we do, and how they can get involved and help save lives. Also could include asking people for donations at fundraising events.

When the interview has been passed and screening for the role is complete you will be invited to a short Network induction and meet the other members of the network in Tamworth. 

The Induction will take place if successful at the Interview and screening complete.

Training will be provided at Network Meeting Nights which take place Thursday Evenings 7:30 PM until 9pm Approx.

We are looking to run a volunteering selection session on ad hoc basis with candidates.

If you are successful you will need to undertake induction & training for role dates to be confirmed. There is an expectation to regularly attend training meetings at Preston, Lancaster or Kirkham (2 per month). Complete relevant training for including a 2 day training course.

We are looking to run volunteering selection sessions throughout August, September, October and November. You will chose a selection event that suits you to take place in Kirkham, Preston and Lancaster

If you are successful you will need to attend a face to face 2 day training course and online training & a Welcome Event (Induction) - Dates to be confirmed.

As a health professional volunteer, you would support our First Aid teams with patients who need more complex assessment or treatment, prescription medications or hospital admission. We would warmly welcome you into our clinical team, providing all your training, uniform, and equipment, and offering you a great chance to work as part of a friendly prehospital care team, with good clinical support from experienced colleagues. You would join our group of over 60 Sussex doctors, nurses, physiotherapists and paramedics who already give their time to volunteer with St John Ambulance. We have clinicians of all specialities in our teams, and are happy to provide clinical supervision for those in training grades. We understand how tiring your work shifts can be, and that your duty to your NHS patients will always come first, and we can offer you flexibility around volunteering shifts as well as paid travel to, and accommodation at, events

 Successful candidates will be registered medical practitioners with the GMC, without cautions or restrictions, and hold a licence to practice outside of an approved practice setting.

We are seeking Event Nurses to respond to and manage emergency calls/incidents whilst attending events. Event nurses shall provide specialist, clinical, social and holistic care and undertake clinical assessment and interventions in the pre-hospital environment, which may include venues such as stadia, concert halls, motorsports tracks, road races, etc. This will mainly involve working in treatment units or temporary event medical centres.

Successful candidates will be registered nurses with the NMC and will be able to provide evidence of CPD activity within the previous 12 months.

Youth Helper work directly with young people in St John Ambulance Badger Setts and Cadet Units. By supporting our Youth Leaders to deliver a sessions across our range of programmes. In this role, you'll support the learning and development of young people into the next generation of health citizens. Youth Helpers also help young people develop their confidence, teamwork skills, self-discipline, and generally encourage them to strive to be the best they can be, as well as supervise and support other adult volunteers in their team.

Pursuing the role

If you are successful you will need to undertake induction & training for role at these dates:

Applicant's must be available for regular Thursday night attendance and be able to get to Guildford before 17:00 for Badgers or 18:00 for Cadets

Interview will be conducted on a Thursday evening. Date options will be offered

You will get the chance to observe one of the youth unit sessions at the interview.

Training will be given during the youth night sessions. There is some online learning to be carried out too,

Join our choir as a Guitarist Volunteer, contributing your musical talents to enhance our rehearsals and performances! Your role will support in creating a lively atmosphere, allowing our choir to deliver unforgettable performances! Sessions take place every Thursday from 3-4pm, if you are available and would like to get involved, we’d love to hear from you!

What you will be doing

• Accompany choir members during rehearsals and performances with live guitar music.
• Collaborate with choir members to select appropriate songs.
• Engage with other volunteers and service users, creating a positive and supportive environment.

The skills you need

• Experience in playing the guitar, either personally, professionally.
• Experience with a variety of music genres
• Strong communication and collaborative skills
