Purpose of role
We're on a mission to grant magical wishes and create lasting memories for seriously ill children and their families. Join us in the office to help us manage our admin and provide the best support for our donors. This role requires you to be in the office either Monday or Thursday.
Main Tasks:
- Assisting with day-to-day customer care of fundraising activities as required by the team, e.g., managing incoming emails and telephone calls, helping with post, counting money etc.
- Helping to write letters and handwritten thank you cards to supporters.
- Helping to manage event guest lists and other admin tasks related to our special events
- Sending out fundraising materials as requested by supporters.
- Managing deliveries of items as they arrive in the office.
- Sorting fundraising materials in our storage space
- Updating and maintaining the CRM database where needed (training provided and open to people who would prefer not to use a database
- Creating materials using Word, PowerPoint or other software
- Any other admin tasks that will help the team manage workload
What skills do I need to have?
Experience of delivering good customer service and/or administration in a voluntary or paid capacity – or the desire to learn new skills
- Experience of using Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel, email, and the Internet for research purposes.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Managing data.
- Organised with good attention to detail.

Lisa and her team of superstar volunteers will do their best to help you find just the thing and the chance to buy a winning lottery ticket, too.

The management team spearhead a dedicated team of volunteers who manage a significant turnover of stock weekly.
The team relishes any opportunity to dress up and are often seen in a variety of fancy-dress costumes.

Commitment:Our shops operate Monday-Sunday, 9am-5pm and we appreciate any time you can spare, but ideally at least 2 hours per week.

Mandy, her staff team and their loyal volunteer team provide first class customer service and have built relationships with our lovely regulars who shop with us, very kindly donate their pre-loved items as well as buy their weekly lottery ticket.

The Coroners' Courts Support Service (CCSS) is a registered Charity whose trained volunteers give emotional and practical support to bereaved families and other witnesses attending an inquest.
We need volunteers to provide emotional support and practical help to bereaved families, witnesses and others attending Inquests at Coroners' Court. Our volunteers at court also provide help and assistance to the Coroners' Officers, as and when required.
We are looking for reliable, supportive people with excellent communication skills. A mature and calm attitude is needed in order to be able to talk to people during a sometimes bewildering and emotional experience. Volunteers must be willing to undergo a period of observations and shadowing, as well as attend a 3 day training course. A minimum commitment of one day (9:00am - 5:00pm) per fortnight is asked for. Training and mentoring is provided and travel expenses to the court are reimbursed.
New volunteers should possess good communication and listening skills and the ability to empathise with people they support.

Rowcroft Hospice is looking to recruit new Trustees to join the Board over the coming months.
Trustee
Remuneration: Voluntary, Unpaid - Reasonable travel expenses can be paid.
Commitment: Board meetings are held four times per year.
Term: Initial term of 3 years, renewable for up to two further 3-year terms.
Location: South Devon

Rowcroft is a well-respected and supported charity which has had a presence in the South West for over 40 years. It is committed to helping patients and families make the most of every moment. From Dartmouth to Dawlish, our teams provide comfort, support and a range of specialist services to care for 2500 patients with life limiting illnesses every year across South Devon. The charity is at an exciting stage of its development and has recently commenced an ambitious and challenging business plan to secure its future sustainability, ensuring it meets the changing demographic needs of the local community. Our care is provided at home, in the community and at our Inpatient Unit in Torquay. We’re committed to supporting families and carers for as long as they need us.
The present Board includes retired and working-age people with a range of clinical and business skills as well as rich life experiences. Board meetings are held four times per year with an additional small number of meetings in sub-committees.
You will represent the Hospice within the community and be an active participant in the building of strategy for the Hospice’s future development. The role of the Board is one of governance and strategic guidance, not executive management.
Rowcroft Hospice carries out DBS checks on relevant personnel upon appointment, including Trustees.
