Job description

Talk the Talk is a charity based in Hereford. The organisation helps youth (10 to 18) to be competent communicators, listening and speaking skills to improve confidence and assist them to become confident adults.

Role summary

Our new trustee will be part of a young organisation destined to change the world by inspiring youth to become good communicators with rounded personalities. Here is a chance to help a charity that is enabling young people to express themselves coherently and make a worthwhile contribution to their community and, ultimately, wider society

Person specification

Experience in systems and accounting - we use Capsule CRM and Xero for our accounts. There will be some contact with our staff members but this position is for someone to consider the detail and insist on efficient processes enabling our clients (school teachers) to be untroubled. An efficiency geek who loves adding up and presenting concise reports would like this position - we are half way there but need to be right up to date with our systems. Knowledge of charity accounts would be desirable.

  • The successful applicant could be a newly qualified accountant
  • Our recent growth requires someone to ensure that we are right up to date
  • Experience of preparing charity accounts is important

Time commitment

10 days a year. Four official trustee meetings/year plus occasional visits meeting staff, possibly attending the trainers' annual CPD

How to apply

If you think the ability to converse positively is important - you could be the person for us. We're happy to have an initial phone call if you are not sure this position is for you. Please see more details via Reach Volunteering.
