We are looking for between three and five new Trustees to join our board in 2026. We’re specifically looking to strengthen the board’s expertise in grant making, fundraising and marketing and communications. We would also welcome applications from people with private sector experience or with direct experience of running a charity with links to the women and girls sector. Lastly, as a UK-wide grant maker, we would be keen to have more trustees residing in and/or with personal experience of Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

The role of Trustees at Rosa
As a Trustee you will be part of the Rosa team that:
- Sets our direction and purpose;
- Ensures we are well run financially and operating in line with our purpose and the law;

- Supports our staff who manage and run the charity; and
- Promotes and always acts in the best interest of our charity
When recruiting new Trustees to our Board, we look for people who:

- Are able to offer constructive challenge and think strategically;
- Will share their knowledge, experience and expertise to support Rosa’s development.
Right now, we are specifically looking for individuals with the following skill sets:
- Senior level expertise of grant-making in the UK;
- Experience of charity fundraising;
- Marketing and comms expertise.
And individuals with any of the following backgrounds:
- Private sector experience, bringing senior corporate sector contacts;
- Direct experience of running a women’s and girls’ organisation or with links to the women and girls sector;
- Residing in and/or personal experience of Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

Role Specification
Eastside is seeking Trustees to provide guidance and support for the CEO and senior executive team as well as expertise to the Board of Trustees. The organisation is in a strong position going into 2026 and is set on significant growth and expansion, aiming to maximise the opportunities created by recent successes; these include outstanding results on our national projects: Creativity Live (streaming live creativity workshops into schools and classrooms across the UK); SPOKEN WORD POWER (which has engaged and captured the voices of thousands of young people from deprived neighbourhoods across the country); sell out West End Gala fundraising nights (APRIL FOOLERY) and a national lottery heritage fund supported 30th anniversary project.
The Trustees will support the team in delivering exciting new projects across the creative arts, with particular focus on spoken-word poetry, the dramatic arts and film/digital media programmes. The Trust's work in schools is expanding and, while London remains a priority, there are clear plans to bring Eastside's offering to a national and international audience.
Person Specification
Eastside is looking for individuals who are passionate about its work with children and young people, and its mission to transform educational provision and learning experiences across the capital city and beyond through the application of art, culture and creativity. Applicants will have strong professional experience and networks, as well as stakeholder, funder and partner leverage.
Trustees will advise on how to reach wider audiences, grow corporate partnerships and provide support for Eastside's educational programmes. We particularly encourage applications from those representing diverse backgrounds and those with relevant lived experience. Experience at a senior level within the Arts/Youth Fundraising and Philanthropy sectors, Digital or creative arts (particularly film, TV and theatre), Legal, Education and Facilities management sectors (with revenue generation experience) would be welcome.
We welcome candidates who have experience of fundraising, either for a non-profit or a commercial organisation. Those without direct experience but who have good connections to high-net-worth individuals, grant-giving Trusts & Foundations or Corporate/Family Foundations are also highly encouraged to apply.

Founded in 1879, Together for Mental Wellbeing is the longest-established mental health charity in England. We work to ensure that everyone who experiences mental distress is valued, can live the life they choose and can determine their own future.
What we do
Together for Mental Wellbeing is a national charity that supports people who experience mental distress to lead fulfilling and independent lives.
We work with approximately 4,500 people every month via 70 projects throughout England, but we aspire to reach many more people through our recently refreshed five-year strategy.
Our services include:
- personalised support in the community
- accommodation based support
- advocacy services, including in secure hospitals
- criminal justice services, including in courts and probation services

It also means we provide opportunities for people experiencing mental distress to work with Together to draw on their experiences to help us improve the quality and experience of the services that we provide.

We have an effective and collaborative Board of enthusiastic, friendly and committed trustees, who lead the development of Together and ensure that the charity exemplifies good practice.
The opportunity
We wish to add new trustees to our Board and have identified some recruitment priorities:
- We are seeking at least one individual with lived experience of mental distress who can draw on their unique knowledge and insights as to how mental distress impacts on people’s lives, and share their passion and enthusiasm to drive the aspirations of the organisation.
Our approach is for the individual to determine whether or not they have lived experience of mental distress. One person’s lived experience is no more or less important than another’s.
- We wish to increase the gender diversity of our leadership at Together; we currently have a high proportion of men.
Having completed a recent Board skills audit we also encourage applicants with experience of the following areas:
- Human resources and workforce planning
- Forensic psychiatry
- Public sector procurement/contracting
- Knowledge of health and wellbeing service providers from the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector
- Digital development and innovation
- Auditing and risk management
- Financial management and accounting
However, all applications are welcomed and will be considered. We also recognise that people are often juggling multiple commitments and can offer flexibility as to when you take up the role.
We offer a full induction, along with ongoing training and development opportunities. Although our trustees are unpaid volunteers all expenses related to the role will be paid in full.
Typically trustees will attend around 10 meetings per year, occasional virtual attendance is possible, and be invited to events and visits. With preparation time for meetings this can equate to a commitment of 1-2 days per month.

Share’s trustee team has responsibility for overseeing strategy and performance. Share currently has eight trustees, and is looking to recruit up to three more with the enthusiasm, skills and commitment we need to help guide Share through the next phase of its development. Trustees are supported by Share’s Senior Leadership Team led by the Chief Executive.
The full Board meets six times a year. Meetings are in person and usually take place in the evening, with the exception of an annual away day. In addition, Trustees will usually sit on one of our Board Sub-Committees which meet four times a year with meetings taking place virtually.
Who we are looking for
We strongly believe that diversity of thought and experience directly contributes to better organisational outcomes, and that the composition of the Charity’s leadership should be reflective of the diversity of Share’s student body.
Prospective Trustees must have a commitment to Share’s vision and values, and a passion for making a difference in the lives of disabled people. Share is keen to encourage applications from:
- Individuals with strong financial credentials, ideally a Chartered Accountant, who will sit on our Finance Sub-Committee
- An HR professional, who will sit on our HR and Safety Sub-Committee

As we approach our 30th anniversary in 2028, we are looking for committed new trustees with energy, passion and time who will continue to drive us forward.
Musical talent is everywhere but opportunity isn't: family finances and other obstacles too often get in the way. Young Sounds is here to change this.
For nearly 30 years we've supported talented young people from low-income families, helping them to overcome financial and social barriers. Whether they're making or creating music our programmes help young musicians from across the UK to fulfil their musical potential.
Trustees are expected to engage with and support all aspects of the charity, helping to foster stakeholder relationships, representing the organisation regionally and nationally and ensuring compliance and safeguarding.
Principal responsibilities are:
- Strategy - contributing actively to the formation of strategy, the Young Sounds business plan, and evaluating the performance of the organisation against the plan.
- Oversight - ensuring that the charity is well run, efficient and compliant with the charity's Articles of Association, its policies, including safeguarding and EDI, governance codes of practice, legal responsibilities and upholding the organisation's reputation and values.
- Advocacy - advocating for the charity at all times, supporting fundraising efforts and promoting the work of the charity in the trustee's daily life.
Requirements:
Previous trustee experience is not necessary, and we welcome trustees who can bring a diversity of life experiences, cultural knowledge and expertise.
As a national charity we are keen to attract trustees from all parts of the UK, and particularly those who are based outside London and the South East.
For this round, we particularly welcome expertise in the following areas:
- EDI and CSR programmes in the creative industries
- Youth culture and content creation
- Music Hub and/or National Curriculum expertise
- Fundraising
- Contemporary music performance and production
Above all we are looking for trustees who are passionate about, and willing to advocate strongly for, giving all young people the opportunity to have a musical life, particularly those facing the most barriers. We also expect trustees to have an overarching commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion.

Are you passionate about health justice? Medact is seeking new Trustees to help oversee our governance and support our work.
About Medact
Medact organises the health community to work towards a world in which everyone is able to live healthy, dignified lives, supported by political and economic systems that centre health justice. Our priority work areas are some of the most pressing threats to health and wellbeing, including ending state violence, housing & energy justice, and migrant access to healthcare. Medact seeks systemic solutions to major social problems, and is unafraid to hold decision-makers to account. We launched our new five-year strategy at the end of 2025, embedding our vision for how we win and how we grow.

About the role
As a Trustee, you will provide guidance, governance and final sign-off on major decisions on behalf of our membership. As Board members, our Trustees are collectively responsible for the governance of the organisation in line with the requirements of the Charity Commission. Trustees also contribute to the development of Medact's strategy and participate in a range of other activities to support the Director and staff with our work.
There are four planned board meetings per year, which are hybrid, and it is expected that each Trustee will attend most Board meetings. Trustees are also sometimes asked to give their views or sign off on issues between Board meetings if an issue cannot wait. It is hoped that each Trustee will have the capacity to use their unique skills to support the team more broadly with Medact’s work.
Acting as a Trustee is a voluntary role but reasonable travel expenses can be paid.
Who we are looking for
We would like to widen the diversity on the board by encouraging applications from grassroots campaigners, members of communities affected by the issues Medact campaigns on, those working with the third sector on similar issues, and from racialised, religious and other minorities.
Our current Board brings a broad range of skills, but we recognise that we do not yet reflect the diversity of the health community. There are also specific types of experience and expertise we would like more of on the Board. In particular, we are looking for potential Trustees with one or more of the following attributes:

Lived experience of an issue that Medact campaigns on, for instance the Hostile Environment, the health impacts of economic or housing injustice, the health impacts of armed conflict or UK security policies

Experience as a frontline health worker of any sort, preferably current

Legal and safeguarding expertise

Fundraising expertise, particularly individual giving or major donor fundraising

Human resources expertise
We hope all Trustees will:

Previous experience on a charity board or in another governance role is useful but by no means essential.
