Job description

Volunteer with us in the Sorting Area at Erdington shop!

Hours: Flexible – even a few hours a week can make a big difference!

About Acorns Children’s Hospice
At Acorns, we provide vital care and support for children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, and their families. Our shops play a huge role in funding this care – and that’s where you come in!

The Role
We are looking for friendly, reliable volunteers to join our sorting area team. You’ll be helping us process generous donations from our local community, ensuring items are prepared and ready to sell in our shops.

What you’ll do:

  • Sort through donated items such as clothing, toys, books, and homeware
  • Check the quality and suitability of donations
  • Prepare items for display in our shops
  • Work as part of a supportive, welcoming team

What we’re looking for:

  • Enthusiasm and a positive attitude
  • Willingness to get stuck in and work as part of a team
  • An eye for detail (spotting hidden treasures is a bonus!)
  • No previous experience needed – full training provided

What you’ll gain:

  • A chance to make a real difference to local children and families
  • Meet new people and be part of a friendly community
  • Learn new skills and gain experience in retail and stock management
  • The satisfaction of knowing your time is helping to fund life-changing care

How to apply
If you’d like to join our amazing team of volunteers, please apply now!

Together, we can turn donations into care. ?
