We're looking for passionate individuals to join our brand-new Learning & Development Team and help us build a training programme that's engaging, informative, and inspiring.

What you'll do:

Your role is to empower our volunteers from all levels. You won't be in the day-to-day youth club sessions, but you'll be giving them the skills and confidence to lead those sessions with excellence. You'll be responsible for:

• Designing and Delivering Training: You'll help create and lead our core training sessions on topics like Introduction to Youth Work, Safeguarding and Child Protection, and Dealing with Challenging Behaviour and others.

• Creating Engaging Workshops: You’ll plan and deliver fun, interactive workshops that keep our volunteers motivated and fully engaged with us, as well as build their skills, knowledge and experience.

• Building a Learning Path: You’ll help develop a structured learning journey for all our volunteers, ensuring they have the tools they need to succeed at every stage of their role.

• Sharing Expertise: You will find ways to keep our volunteers fully informed, motivated, and engaged with us and their role.

Who are we looking for?

Ideally you will have experience of delivering training or teaching but this is not essential. You MUST have a passion for helping people learn and grow. You are perfect for this role if you are:

• A Natural Teacher: You're great at explaining things clearly and making a topic interesting.

• Organised: You can plan sessions, create materials, and manage logistics effectively.

• Empathetic: You can put yourself in a volunteer’s shoes and anticipate their training needs.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Strategic Direction: Helping to set our long-term goals and plan our future growth. Creating strategy and planning.

• Financial Oversight: Ensuring our funding is used wisely and responsibly to benefit young people. This includes supporting our fundraising efforts so that we have the funds and resources we need to run successfully.

• Mission Control: Making sure everything we do is aligned with our mission and values. You will also provide the support and guidance needed by the team.

• Ambassador: Representing URBAN YOUTH and our mission in your community.

CPD Accreditation Lead

Reports to: CEO/Project Lead

Location: Remote

Commitment: Flexible hours, approx. 4–6 hours per week

Duration: Minimum 6 months

Mast Cell Action is developing an Accredited Training Programme for healthcare professionals to increase understanding of Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS). We are seeking a skilled volunteer with experience in designing and securing CPD-accredited training to help us achieve and maintain accreditation for this vital programme.

This is a key role that will directly contribute to ensuring our training is recognised, professional, and impactful across healthcare.

Key Responsibilities

Work with the Project Lead to design and refine training materials for CPD accreditation.

Advise on the requirements and standards needed to gain CPD accreditation.

Prepare and manage the submission of CPD accreditation applications.

Ensure all documentation, processes, and assessment methods meet accrediting body standards.

Support the development of systems for monitoring and evaluating training outcomes.

Keep up to date with CPD accreditation requirements and advise the charity on renewals and compliance.

Provide guidance on structuring learner feedback, evaluation, and CPD points allocation.

Skills and Experience

Essential

Proven experience in developing and/or managing CPD-accredited training programmes.

Strong understanding of CPD accreditation standards and processes.

Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.

Experience in the health or charity sector.

Knowledge of e-learning platforms or blended learning delivery.

Do you love meeting and talking to people? Or perhaps you prefer sorting and organising in the background? If so, why not volunteer in our charity shop in Newcastle Emlyn? It's something of a community hub, an inspiring and happy emporium. It is often the first place people hear about the hospice. If you’re on the shop floor then a large part of the day can be spent talking with and listening to customers. It can also be the first port of call for those with a terminal diagnosis or someone seeking help for a friend or loved one.

• Greeting customers warmly, helping them and sharing information about our hospice.

• Helping create attractive displays.

• Organising and refilling shelves and racks.

• Dusting, vacuuming and tidying.

• Helping us advertise special events through conversations, window displays and posters.

• Working together within the retail team to support the smooth running of the shop.

You will be supported by the Charity Shop Manager and given induction and training to ensure you feel confident and capable in your role. As part of the wider hospice team, you’ll also have the chance to take part in various team wellbeing and development opportunities, plus additional learning.

Our Housekeeping team is vital to everything we do. The time and effort you spend caring about the little details will make a big difference to the people that, together, we care about.

What will I be doing?

• Sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dusting and disinfecting surfaces in bedrooms, bathrooms and throughout the hospice.

• Washing, drying, and ironing laundry.

• Disposing of waste (general and clinical), including recycling.

• Helping with infection control by following our in-house procedures and using personal protective equipment when needed.

• Working as part of a wider team to keep the building fresh, clean and welcoming.

How much time should I give?

Completely flexible, whatever you can offer – some volunteers offer time every week, others support on a monthly basis at the end of respite stays, some help quarterly with deep cleans or just occasionally to prepare or clear up around special events in our calendar.

• Empathy, with a patient-centred approach to care.

• Ability to respond well to changing circumstances.

You will receive comprehensive induction and training to familiarise you with hospice policies and procedures as well as ongoing support and supervision from our Lead Nurse / Deputy Lead Nurse to ensure you feel confident and valued in your role. • Keeping a clean and organised kitchen, overseeing dishwashing plus sanitising of surfaces and equipment.

• Keeping temperature logs, and accurate records of expiry dates and stock levels.

• Along with catering colleagues, supporting a great team spirit and a happy environment.

How much time should I give?

Flexible, based on volunteer availability and hospice needs, but on average at least one day a month. Some volunteers choose to commit to frequent regular shifts while others offer their availability monthly or by arrangement to support day hospice, respite services or hospice events.

• An ability to remain calm and adapt to unexpected changes.

Helping them move around the hospice and gardens, organising and assisting with recreational activities, and accompanying them on outings when needed.

• Offering emotional support and a compassionate presence; a listening ear, empathy, and understanding during difficult times. Creating a warm and nurturing environment where patients and their families feel valued, respected, and cared for.

• Working with nurses, other carers, companions, therapists, and team members to support great team spirit. Sharing relevant information and observations to support patient care planning, decision-making and record-keeping. 

How much time should I give?

Ideally, an average of one shift a month, but scheduling can be flexible, based on your availability and hospice needs. Some volunteers commit to regular shifts while others have a more variable pattern of availability.

What training and support will I be given?

Our Volunteer Carers receive comprehensive induction and training. This includes shadowing, one-to-one support, team sharing and development opportunities plus additional learning as needed. Volunteer Carers are supported by the Healthcare Support Workers’ Lead and the Lead Nurse to ensure they feel confident and capable in their role.

Lead the Voice of a Movement That Matters

Are you a storyteller, a strategist, a social media whiz?

Key Roles in the Communications Team:

1. Communications Lead

• Develop and deliver REMIX’s communications strategy.

• Lead on social media, website, newsletters, and press outreach.

• Ensure our messaging is bold, consistent, and youth-led.

• Build systems to manage content, engagement, and analytics.

• Collaborate with the Founder and other teams to amplify impact.

2. Communications Team Members

• Support the Communications Lead in content creation and delivery.

• Manage social media platforms and grow our online community.

• Write blogs, design graphics, and produce videos.

• Pitch stories, write press releases, and build media relationships.

• Help shape our brand identity and visual storytelling.

Lead the Charge in Building a Volunteer-Led Movement

Are you passionate about people, purpose, and impact?

Do you have experience in volunteer management, HR, training, or community engagement?

Key Roles in the Volunteering Team:

1. Volunteering Lead

• Design and launch REMIX’s volunteer programme.

• Lead recruitment, onboarding, and training of all volunteers.

• Build systems that support, motivate, and retain volunteers.

• Ensure volunteers are empowered, equipped, and celebrated.

• Work closely with the Founder to embed volunteering into our DNA.

2. Volunteering Team Members

• Support the Volunteering Lead in all aspects of programme delivery.

• Help recruit and onboard new volunteers.

• Assist with training, scheduling, and ongoing support.

• Be a friendly face and point of contact for our volunteer community.

• Champion a culture of inclusion, growth, and recognition.

• People with experience in volunteer coordination, HR, training, or community building.

We Need You – Youth VOLUNTEERS Who Want to Be the Voice of Change!

We’re not just building a charity, we’re building a legacy. And we need young people aged 16–26 years old to help us lead the way.

Two Ways to VOLUNTEER With Us:

1. As one of our Young Trustees

Join our Board and be the youth voice at the highest level of decision-making. Help shape our strategy, challenge the status quo, and make sure REMIX stays true to its mission of being youth-led.

2. As one of our Youth Ambassadors

Be the face and voice of REMIX in your community. Help us design programmes that actually work for young people. Represent our mission, share your story, and inspire others to get involved.

What You’ll Do In These Roles With Us:

• Speak up and shape the future of REMIX.

• Co-create programmes that reflect real youth experiences.

• Represent REMIX at events, online, and in your community.

• Advocate for social mobility and inclusive leadership.

• Help us stay bold, relevant, and youth-led.

Who We’re Looking For:

• Young people aged 16–26 years old from all backgrounds.

• Passionate about equity, opportunity, and making change.

• Ready to bring fresh ideas, lived experience, and energy.

• No formal experience needed, just your passion, committment, your voice and vision.
