The Pre-Crime Programme Manager leads our work on predictive policing and surveillance within the criminal legal system and counter-terrorism policy, with a particular focus on raising awareness of, and challenging, the impact on over-policed and over-surveilled communities.
They are responsible for the development and implementation of the Pre-Crime programme, working with the Senior Management Team (SMT) and other staff to expand the programme’s profile, network and funding opportunities.
As a Programme Lead, they will also be responsible for working with the SMT and other Area or Programme leads to further develop and uphold ORG’s values and collaborative working culture. They will be recognised as an issue-expert and senior leader within the organisation.
Activities
This is a permanent position at Open Rights Group, and we have secured a number of project grants to deliver the following activities:
- Lead and manage the Safety Not Surveillance (SNS) Coalition, the UK’s only coalition fighting to prohibit AI- and data-driven predictive policing. SNS brings together grassroots partners with national organisations to build power in communities, secure media coverage, engage decision-makers and mobilise those with lived experience.
- Develop detailed policy positions on the deployment of AI and data-driven technologies by private and public actors in criminal justice, immigration and national security.
- Advocacy to encourage decision makers, including MPs, Lords, Government departments and the Information Commissioner’s Office, to adopt ORG’s and the coalition’s recommendations.
- Conduct campaigns that raise awareness of the threats posed to people’s digital rights by the data-driven technologies in policing and counter-terrorism, as well as more broadly.
- Through research and FOIs, help build a legal case with our partners against covert Police-led pathways under Prevent, the UK’s counter-terrorism programme.
- Opportunities to campaign against digital ID, the Online Safety Act and to protect freedom of expression.

The Healthier Me Coach is key to the delivery of our exciting new Omaze funded activity. This is a part-time, fixed-term position of 22.5 hours per week, ending in December 2027. The working days are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. A valid driving license and access to a vehicle are essential for this role.
In our new programme called "Healthier Me" we want to:
- Improve health outcomes for people with a learning disability.
- Empower people we support and our staff teams to have better tools when it comes to health and wellbeing
- Make community health offerings more accessible for people with a learning disability.
You will be working within a team of Healthier Me Coaches across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The Healthier Me Coach will work both independently and collaboratively.
In the Healthier Me Coach role, you will support people with a learning disability to improve their understanding of, and access to, health and wellbeing.
A key part of this work will be to support around 100 people with a learning disability to set and achieve personal health goals over 2 years. You will do this through1:1 coaching, delivering workshops and signposting, amongst other things. The post holder will be responsible for supporting individual progression and connecting the people Mencap supports with each other and appropriate opportunities in the community.
In addition to this you will be managing at least one ‘Healthier Me Champion’ . The Champion role is for people with a learning disability, and it will strengthen the delivery of this work.
This role involves working with a range of stakeholders to promote healthy living and to improve understanding of the barriers to health faced by people with a learning disability.

Healthier Me Coach

The Healthier Me Coach is key to the delivery of our exciting new Omaze funded activity. This is a part-time, fixed-term position of 22.5 hours per week, ending in December 2027. The working days are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. A valid driving license and access to a vehicle are essential for this role.
In our new programme called "Healthier Me" we want to:
- Improve health outcomes for people with a learning disability.
- Empower people we support and our staff teams to have better tools when it comes to health and wellbeing
- Make community health offerings more accessible for people with a learning disability.
You will be working within a team of Healthier Me Coaches across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The Healthier Me Coach will work both independently and collaboratively.
In the Healthier Me Coach role, you will support people with a learning disability to improve their understanding of, and access to, health and wellbeing.
A key part of this work will be to support around 100 people with a learning disability to set and achieve personal health goals over 2 years. You will do this through1:1 coaching, delivering workshops and signposting, amongst other things. The post holder will be responsible for supporting individual progression and connecting the people Mencap supports with each other and appropriate opportunities in the community.
In addition to this you will be managing at least one ‘Healthier Me Champion’ . The Champion role is for people with a learning disability, and it will strengthen the delivery of this work.
This role involves working with a range of stakeholders to promote healthy living and to improve understanding of the barriers to health faced by people with a learning disability.
Stakeholders will include:
- Local staff in Mencap services
- Community organisations
- Local health teams
- Families and Carers
- Internal Mencap teams
We want the Healthier Me Coach to use a community-led approach, giving people we support and the wider community opportunities to contribute and be part of local solutions. The coach will establish strong working relationships that enable Mencap to secure positive outcomes for people with a learning disability. The Healthier Me Coach will work closely with the Programme Manager to ensure good monitoring processes are followed to reach set targets and goals. You will support with monitoring progression, collecting and inputting data.

Key Responsibilities
- Line management of colleagues with a learning disability – Healthier Me Champions.
- Effectively manage a caseload of individuals, supporting them to set and achieve personalised health goals.
- Ensure that all contractual outcomes linked to your caseload are achieved, captured and documented.
- Deliver workshops and training to Mencap teams, people with a learning disability and community members.
- Implement community-led ways of working and co-production in approach to work.
- Provide signposting, support and tools to individuals, carers and support staff.
- Take responsibility for own professional development, and where needed use feedback to continually improve own performance.
- Develop relationships with stakeholders and gather feedback.
- Complete reporting required for internal and external monitoring, accurately and on time.
- Generate community opportunities with local organisations (e.g. allotment, leisure centre, social groups).
- Highlight and report any practice issues or safety concerns to secure support and improvement in line with organisational policies.

As our Finance Manager you will be responsible for the smooth running of the financial administration of the charity. Working closely with the Director of Finance & Operations, you’ll create timely financial reports, budgets & forecasts to inform decision making.
As an experienced manager, you will bring strong financial management skills, efficient administrative systems oversight, and a proven track record of working effectively within small teams. Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Management: Oversee daily operations of the finance function, ensuring accurate month-end processes, preparation of management accounts, maintenance of the Xero accounting system, and strong financial controls and procedures.
- Team Leadership and Oversight: Manage and support the Business Administration and Finance Officer, reviewing reconciliations and ensuring effective financial operations, including accounts payable/receivable, cash flow, and corporate cards.
- Forecasting and Budgeting: Lead monthly and quarterly financial forecasting and support the Director of Finance and Operations in developing and monitoring the annual budget.
- Financial Processing: Ensure all transactions are supported with appropriate documentation, manage income recording with the philanthropy team, and oversee gift aid submissions.
- Payroll and Pensions: Process monthly payroll and pension contributions through Xero, manage HMRC obligations, and ensure staff expense claims are handled accurately and timely.
- Compliance and Governance: Prepare statutory returns for the Charity Commission and Companies House, ensuring compliance with all financial and legal reporting requirements.

Essential Experience, Knowledge and Competencies:
- Prior experience of working in a similar role (min 2 years)

We have an exciting opportunity for an Individual Giving Officer (Retention) to join the Commercial Directorate at Help for Heroes and play a key role in building long-term supporter relationships that help fund life-changing support for the Armed Forces community.
About the Role
As Individual Giving Officer (Retention), you’ll sit at the heart of how Help for Heroes builds long-term, sustainable income. You’ll lead the delivery of multi-channel retention campaigns and fundraising appeals that strengthen supporter relationships, increase lifetime value and ensure our supporters feel valued, informed and inspired to continue their support.
You’ll own retention activity across cash giving, lottery and regular giving - shaping campaigns from idea through to delivery, optimisation and evaluation. Using insight and performance data to continually refine supporter journeys, test new approaches and ensure every communication adds value to the supporter experience.
Working closely with the Individual Giving Officer (Acquisition), you’ll help create a seamless journey from first gift to long-term loyalty.
