Role Overview

As a Pre-Production Assistant, you will support the Video Production Manager and team in all stages of video production, focusing primarily on the pre-production phase. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that our video projects are well-planned and executed smoothly. You will be involved in tasks ranging from script writing to stage setting, ensuring that all necessary preparations are in place for successful video production.

Main Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Video Production Manager to develop and refine scripts for various video projects, conducting research to gather relevant information and insights to inform script content.

• Assist in planning and setting up stages for video shoots, including arranging props, lighting, and other necessary equipment, and coordinate with the production team to ensure all stage elements are in place.

• Work with the Video Production Manager to create detailed production schedules and timelines, and coordinate with cast, crew, and other stakeholders to ensure everyone is informed of shoot dates and times.

• Assist in identifying and securing suitable locations for video shoots, conducting site visits to assess the suitability of locations and addressing any logistical considerations.

• Organize and manage all pre-production materials and resources, including scripts, shot lists, and production notes, ensuring all necessary permits and permissions are obtained for filming locations.

• Act as a point of contact between the pre-production team and other departments, ensuring smooth communication and collaboration, and provide regular updates to the Video Production Manager on the progress of pre-production tasks.

The Trans Legal Clinic is the first trans-led specialist gender identity legal practice and registered charity in the UK. The mission of the Trans Legal Clinic is simple; we provide free and accessible legal help to transgender and non-binary people in need. Service Introduction 

The Social Media department is integral to our organisation. The social media team works together to create informative and entertaining content to build a community around the Trans Legal Clinic. We have assisted over 70 clients since October 2023.

Our Social Media department is made up of committed Social Media Content Officers, working under the Social Media Manager. 

Key tasks and responsibilities 

Design and Content Creation 

Be adept and comfortable using Canva, with an eye for design. 

Create engaging and eye-catching posts and content for Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn. 

Write engaging captions and copy for social media content to drive engagement across social media channels.  

Confident using video editing software and a willingness to learn new editing software as and when required. 

Write and edit scripts for video posts. 

Teamwork 

Engage with assigned tasks and support other volunteers in the social media team.

Keep your fellow volunteers and manager updated on your content creation and any issues you encounter throughout the process.   

Set out to reach team performance targets.

Attend team meetings and contribute to discussions.

Be respectful to colleagues and support good communication between all stakeholders. 

Work with caseworkers to create content for specific raised issues. 

Research and Outreach 

Create resources for the organisation and those seeking information on our website in a digestible way. 

Reach out to other organisations, especially those that work with trans* people, to collaborate and share knowledge and resources.   

Conduct research into relevant topics and how they affect trans* and gender diverse people. 

Review 

Review and evaluate own performance to identify strengths and areas for development. 

Undertake development and training opportunities. 

General 

Adhere to Trans Legal Clinic’s Policies and Procedures at all times. 

Cover for other members of the team and department as necessary. 

Be proactive in reviewing and evaluating own performance and identifying upon areas for improvement and development. 

Undertake any other duties compatible with the level and nature of the role and/or reasonable duties required by more senior members of staff. 

Attend and participate in external meetings and briefings as required.

Our Trustees support all aspects of our work, with the aim of providing strategic support, governance and assurance that enables us to continue to deliver our core service and increase the number of women we can support into work by dressing and coaching women for interview and job success.

The time commitment for this voluntary, unpaid role is an average of a day a month, with more time given at busy periods of the year. There will be a requirement to attend board meetings, with some trustees also sitting on subcommittees that meet around 4 times a year. In addition, there are events to attend and occasional additional duties to support our wider work.

Build on Belief is a charity dedicated to helping people who have, or have had issues with drugs and alcohol use, working to improve and sustain their health and wellbeing in order they can recover to lead fulfilling lives. What you will be doing 

Along with other members of the Board, you will be responsible for providing the strategic and practical governance of an enthusiastic and innovative organisation. As a Lived Experience Recovery Organisation for people with histories of drug and alcohol problems we are a pioneering and innovative charity. 

BoB helps build the “social capital’ of people who are on a journey of recovery from histories of alcohol, illicit or prescribed drugs. Many of our service users and volunteers across our ten London and South-East projects have associated mental and physical health problems, along with histories of homelessness and unemployment.

We largely operate a structure where we recruit volunteers from our service users, and our managers from our volunteer pool, once trained. Our CEO, most managers and some members of the Board have lived experience, and many have been through the drug and alcohol treatment system. This ‘unique’ structure, we believe, gives a high level of peer led understanding of needs and responses.  

In terms of key responsibilities, trustees are expected to: 

• Attend and contribute to Board (six evening meetings (2hrs) a year at Earls Court and/or online) and related meetings and share in decision making about all significant issues that impact on BoB. 

• Work with the Chief Executive and senior leadership team to practically support and develop the design and operation of new areas of service delivery as well as providing input and oversight to help everyday operations.

• Ensure that as a diverse Lived Experience Recovery Organisation, trustees continue to keep the interests and needs of those recovering from addiction at the forefront of governance. 

• Develop and regularly monitor the implementation of BoB’s strategy. 

• Oversee BoB’s work, ensuring accountability, strategically managing finances and risks, protecting charity assets, adopting and updating policies and procedures so they are fit for purpose and that the charities resources are used efficiently and effectively. 

• Act as custodian of BoB’s values and long-term future, ensuring that the organisation is complying with its constitution, and is managed prudently and lawfully. 

• Using contacts and networks to help BoB grow and develop and to be an active ambassador for the organisation. 

• Other duties required and expected of a Trustee/Company Director, including ad-hoc task groups and very occasional weekend visits to services across London and the South-East of England. 

What we are looking for 

Our Trustee Board comprises people who have good skills and experience in financial operations, corporate strategic marketing and communications, health care, HR, information technology and legal matters. However, we are at a stage of development where we wish to broaden and strengthen our governance with an additional trustee who has a background as an experienced health care practitioner, to join us on a voluntary basis to help take the organisation forward. 

If you’ve experience as a health care sector practitioner, then you could make a significant contribution to our development. 

We are open to a variety of professional health care backgrounds, including: 

• Experience in health care, clinical or public health, ideally in the fields of drug and alcohol addictions, primary care or mental health. 

• Experience as a registered doctor, nurse or psychologist. 

• Familiarity of services and interventions aimed at supporting people with complex needs. 

We are very open to bringing on board people who can support us becoming a more inclusive organisation. We particularly welcome applications from individuals from diverse ethnic backgrounds, women and other underrepresented groups, including those with disabilities and from LGBTQI communities. We are also very open to recruiting someone who may have their own lived experience of addictions and adversity to draw upon. What difference will you make? 

We are looking for a volunteer trustee to join us on our Board of Trustees/Directors that currently meets once every two months on the first Tuesday evening of the month between 6:00pm and 8pm, usually face-to-face meetings In Earls Court. 
The impact we look to you and other trustees to make includes: 

• better strategic development and governance oversight 

• taking on a lead oversight role for specific initiatives (eg: health and wellbeing of staff, volunteers & service users; organisational developments such as social prescribing, harm reduction efforts; safeguarding))

• using your practical skills and experience to support our small central staff team

This role offers a good opportunity for someone interested in a grass-roots South-East based charity, getting Board experience, or for someone new to senior management or a new charity. Much is made of the idea of co-production but at BoB we take this one step further by enabling peer support. By joining our Board, you can bring your professional and/or personal experience to nurture and enthuse people recovering from drug and alcohol problems to reach out and support others, using their talents and interests.

About Build on Belief 

Objectives 

Build on Belief (BoB) is a Lived Experience Recovery Organisation (LERO), registered as a charity that is changing the face of the drug and alcohol treatment and the recovery system in London and the Southeast. Our services are run by people who have had their own experiences of drug and alcohol addiction and understand not only what it’s like first-hand, but also the struggle people often have to reach and maintain recovery. After all, who is better placed to understand what someone with substance use issues is going through than someone who has been there themselves?

Socially focused activities 

As the addiction lifestyle can be all-consuming, it’s also important to find new interests that help to fill the void many people are faced with in early recovery. With this in mind BoB runs a range of sports, art and music workshops and clubs that provide the opportunity to try something new, meet new people, have fun and maybe even fulfil a lifelong ambition to play in a rock and roll band or try out yoga. We provide an open-minded and supportive atmosphere that gives people the confidence to try out new activities and find a sense of purpose and belonging. Often people who come along to our ten local social clubs across London, Sussex and now Buckinghamshire feel a sense of belonging they have not had for a long time, if ever. Some of us feel like we are part of a family. 

All of our drop-in services run at the weekend and some during the week. Where we can, we aim to give our service users access to opportunities such as: music workshops, sports clubs, arts, alternative therapies, food and drink, gardening and allotments and a strong sense of community. We also run a recovery café, CBT support group and sports clubs during the week and on-line offer LGBTQI support groups. With nearly 40% of our service users being people from diverse ethnic communities we are very keen to see that our volunteers, staff and trustees reflect the diversity where we work. 

To complement these local peer-led social activities we have also developed an on-line programme to support peoples’ recovery journey. Whether its Recovery Support sessions offered 6 days a week, quizzes and games, hands on creative groups (Art Together, Creative Writing, Play Reading) or other well-being focused groups (Yoga, Mindfulness, Tai-Chi and more).

Music workshops, sports clubs, arts, alternative therapies, food and drink, and a strong sense of community are just some of the things on offer to anyone who visits us.

Rhythms of Kolonga: The Democratic Republic of Congo Beyond the Headlines — a transnational movement rooted in cultural rhythm, memory, and narrative justice.

What We’re Doing:

Rhythms of Kolonga is a bold campaign reclaiming Congolese stories from the margins. We’re staging an online cultural takeover where sound, art, rhythm, and movement drown out outdated, one-dimensional headlines and amplify authentic, lived Congolese narratives.

A visionary digital marketer with the heart of an activist and the skills of a strategist. You understand what an online takeover means and you’re fired up to help make it unforgettable.

About Croydon Community Energy (CCE)

Croydon Community Energy is the only community energy organisation in Croydon, combining grassroots climate action with real-world renewable power projects. Since launching in 2021, we’ve built a passionate volunteer-led team and are in the process of our first major initiative: installing rooftop solar across three community sites. In early 2025, we successfully raised over £120,000 in community investment in just eight weeks — a huge vote of confidence in our mission to cut carbon, lower energy bills, and empower local people. As a Community Benefit Society, everything we do is rooted in social impact, from delivering free energy advice to creating hands-on opportunities for residents to lead the energy transition.

Job Purpose

We are seeking an organised and detail-oriented individual to join our community energy group as a Secretary. As the Secretary, you will play a vital role in supporting the Chairperson and Board of Directors, as well as ensuring the smooth administration and financial compliance of the organisation. This voluntary position offers an opportunity to contribute to the success of our community energy initiatives and make a meaningful impact on sustainable development.

The below are example responsibilities you might be undertaking. 

Responsibilities

Annual Duties

• Help organise the annual general meeting (AGM) in accordance with the society’s rules. It is usual for the AGM to take place within six months of the society’s year end in order for members to receive the accounts, and for them to be filed within seven months of the society’s financial year end. Usual AGM business includes:

  • Election of governing body members (usually directors) or the announcement of results if the election is held beforehand.

  • The receipt of balance sheets, accounts, the auditor’s report (if any) and consideration of any reports from the governing body.

  • The setting of any member subscription.

• Arrange for society accounts to be audited (if applicable)

• Send annual return and accounts to the FCA within seven months of society’s year end

• Display the society’s latest balance sheet

Continual Duties

• Keep a Register of Members at the registered office

• Keep minutes to record the proceedings of all meetings

• Ensure that the number of members does not fall below three

• If membership falls below three the registrar has the power to cancel the society’s registration.

• Provide each member with a free copy of the rules

• Give proper notice of all general meetings to all members and to the auditor

• Prepare and distribute meeting materials, reports, and other relevant documentation to board members in a timely manner.

• Assist in the coordination and execution of special events, workshops, and community engagement activities.

• Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, including emails, letters, and phone calls, and ensure timely responses and appropriate follow-up actions.

• Draft and edit official communications, letters, and announcements on behalf of the organisation and the Chairperson.

• Maintain the organisation's contact database, keeping it up to date and accurate.

• Assist in managing the organisation's general email account and redirect inquiries to the appropriate individuals or teams.

• Strong organisational and administrative skills, with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively and collaboratively with board members, volunteers, and stakeholders.

• Reliable and responsible, with a commitment to fulfilling duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner.

• Passion for sustainable development and renewable energy initiatives within the community.

Desirable

• Familiarity with financial administration processes and an understanding of financial regulations and compliance.

• Proficient in using office software and tools, such as word processing, spreadsheet, and email management applications.

• Previous experience in a secretary or administrative role.

Terms and Conditions

Length of contract: 12 months (until next AGM)

Salary: Voluntary, expenses covered inline with our expenses policy

Hours/days: Approximately 10-15 hours per month

Place of work: Remote, with occasional face-to-face meetings in Croydon

Upon taking the position, you will be required to sign a Director’s agreement including a commitment to attend monthly Board meetings and monthly wider volunteer meetings (giving reasonable notice if you cannot attend), and the agreement to log time spent on CCE activities.

Role Summary. 

Key tasks

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality mobile and web applications using Flutter for both iOS and Android platforms.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other developers to define application features and user experiences.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code, adhering to best practices and coding standards.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure code quality and team collaboration.
• Troubleshoot and debug applications, resolving issues and optimizing performance as needed.

What we’re looking for

• Eagerness to Learn: A strong desire to learn and contribute to our mission is essential.
• Experience as a Software Engineer, with a strong focus on mobile and web application development using Flutter, Firebase and/or RESTful APIs.
• Understanding of mobile and web application architecture and design patterns, including clean architecture, microservices, client-server, or serverless architecture.
• Experience with testing frameworks or libraries relevant to Flutter development..
• Familiarity with tools such as JIRA, GitHub, Figma.

At Replacing Animal Research, we’ve been working for over half a century to replace the use of animals in research. We have significantly contributed to the development, and uptake, of non-animal methods by:

• Empowering scientists with our educational opportunities.
• Funding exciting research aimed at replacing animals and improving human healthcare.
• Collaborating with policymakers to ensure more rigorous policy on the use of animals in science. 

Our mission is to ensure scientists use non-animal approaches in biomedical research and testing. It’s a better future for animals and humans. For us to achieve this, we need to ensure that Replacing Animal Research is a resilient organisation with sufficient skills, support, and income to continue its work in the long term. Our trustees are critical to the future of the organisation. 

We are currently seeking more trustees to strengthen our board by providing strategic and governance support. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals with an interest or experience in scientific and medical research and testing and the development of non-animal methods. We’d also be interested in hearing from anyone passionate about eliminating animal use in research. We encourage applications from all people regardless of age, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, belief or race. We are looking for trustees who can demonstrate:

A commitment to our purpose and aims and the strategic vision to support the Replacing Animal Research's future development.

• An understanding and acceptance of the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship.
• Sound, independent judgement and the ability to challenge constructively.
• The ability to work effectively as a member of a team and make decisions for the good of the charity.

A full induction is provided for new trustees as well as ongoing CPD opportunities and support. The role of trustee requires an annual time commitment of around 8 working days which works out around 5 hours per month. This includes:

• Preparation for and attendance at 6 general board meetings, which are held remotely.
• Preparation for and attendance at sub-committee meetings as appropriate.
• Between meetings, trustees may be asked to contribute to discussions via email or ad hoc telephone conferences on specific issues.
• Trustees may be asked to sit on or contribute to other project groups or activities from time to time.
• Attendance at 1 or 2 in-person board away days.
