Community researchers wanted to help East London Waterworks Park ensure our community-owned park is inclusive and welcoming for all.

East London Waterworks Park is a volunteer-led charity that has won a 2024 New London Architecture award and raised £2m towards buying land from the Department for Education to transform the 14-acre Thames Water Depot on Lea Bridge Road on the border of Waltham Forest and Hackney, into a new biodiverse park with natural swimming ponds, forest schools and community spaces. 

We are looking for community researchers specialised to contribute to our community-led working circle who are working on on a listening project to ensure often underrepresented voices in conservation and environmental projects are heard and centred. 

There is opportunity to lead on projects and facilitate the direction of the working circle.

The Inclusivity Circle currently meets monthly on a Wednesday evening on Google Meet and spends voluntary time outside of the meeting completing agreed tasks remotely.

While your experienced research skills are crucial, we also value your ability to engage with the community and build partnerships. Experience in conducting community-based research or working with community organisations is important. A strong understanding of community dynamics and the ability to collaborate effectively will be invaluable in ensuring your research findings are relevant and impactful. Our roles are quite flexible. About YAUK

Youth Advantage UK is a charitable organization that uses a research-led approach to inform policy work and projects that aim to promote and further the human rights of young people aged 11 to 25 across the United Kingdom.

Responsibilities

• As the Senior HR Officer in our Volunteer Relations team, you will be reporting directly to the HR Manager, as well as oversee the day-to-day management of volunteer relations across our organisation, ensuring the  smooth execution of policies and adherence to the Volunteer Handbook. Duties

2. Volunteer Inactivity Management

• Monitor volunteer activity levels and implement inactivity management procedures in collaboration with line managers.
• Maintain updated records to track and report volunteer activity trends.

3. Grievance and Conflict Resolution

• Implement and manage an efficient grievance procedure to handle volunteer concerns professionally and promptly.
• Ensure impartiality and transparency in addressing grievances, collaborating with relevant stakeholders for resolution.
• Collaborate with the L&D team to provide periodic training for volunteers and managers on grievance handling and conflict resolution.

4. Policy Execution and Compliance

• Act as the primary custodian of the Volunteer Handbook, ensuring volunteers are well-informed about organisational policies and procedures.
• Monitor compliance with organisational guidelines and address any violations in consultation with the HR Manager.
• Partner with the Policy team to update the Volunteer Handbook periodically to reflect regulatory changes and organisational needs.

5. Volunteer Relations

• Serve as the first point of contact for volunteers, addressing their queries and concerns to foster a positive environment.
• Actively promote inclusivity and diversity in all volunteer-related activities.

6. Compliance and Reporting

• Ensure all volunteer-related activities comply with organisational and legal standards.
• Prepare regular reports on the approved Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) including challenges and support needed.

No Panic is a national charity providing desperately needed support to people suffering from anxiety.

We are seeking volunteers with experience of researching financial costs, to assist fundraisers in our Large Funding Applications Team, by providing figures they need to apply for funding. Funding that helps the charity sustain and grow the services offered to our members.

If you are enthusiastic about helping No Panic to develop further as a charity and expand the number of anxiety sufferers they support, and have experience in assessing financial costs, we encourage you to apply for this rewarding opportunity.

Activities

Research and evaluate running costs, such as salaries, rent, equipment and expenses.

Role Overview

As a Production Assistant, you will support the Video Production Manager and team in all stages of video production, focusing primarily on the pre and production phase. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that our video projects are well-planned and executed smoothly. You will be involved in tasks ranging from script writing to stage setting, ensuring that all necessary preparations are in place for successful video production.
 

Main Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Video Production Manager to develop and refine scripts for various video projects, conducting research to gather relevant information and insights to inform script content and invite guests when necessary.

• Assist in planning and setting up stages for video shoots, including arranging props, lighting, and other necessary equipment, and coordinate with the production team to ensure all stage elements are in place.

We’re looking for four fundraising project volunteers, over the age of 18 years old.

Choirs have shown to reduce stress levels and depression as well as creating a sense of togetherness. Your role will be to lead auditions to identify and pick out suitable choir members, provide necessary guidance and direction on tone, rhythm, pitch, tempo, and harmony as well as scheduling choir rehearsals.

Research suggests that music can stimulate the body’s natural feel-good chemicals. It can help energise our mood and provide an outlet for us to take control of our feelings. Singing is a powerful tool for bringing people together, reducing stress, and having fun.

Coempowered is a small but rapidly developing non-profit working to empower indiviuals and help build community capacity among for young people, women, and marginalised communities in the UK and internationally through workshops, classes, semiar, projects and research. We are now building the foundations of our organisation and are looking for a dedicated, creative volunteer who is genuinely passionate about our educational and social mission and willing to grow with us as we expand our work and prepare for charity status.

About the Opportunity
This role is ideal for someone who wants to contribute meaningfully to a growing organisation by strengthening our digital presence and helping us reach wider audiences. You will work closely with the directors to shape our public voice and ensure that our online communications reflect our values of inclusion, critical thinking, and empowerment.

We are seeking someone who can commit reliably, collaborate with a small remote team, and take responsibility for managing our online platforms with initiative and care.

Key Deliverables

• Manage weekly posts across LinkedIn, X (Twitter), and Instagram.

• Create clear, engaging written content that communicates our work and mission.

• Produce and upload website content, including updates, project summaries, and short articles.

• Maintain a consistent editorial tone and visual identity across platforms.

• Support campaign planning and announcement of new programmes.

• Monitor basic engagement analytics and propose improvements where relevant.

• Work collaboratively with directors and volunteers to plan communications in advance.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong writing and digital communication skills.

• Experience managing or creating content for social media platforms.

• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and communicate proactively.

• Interest in education, philosophy, youth empowerment, or social change.

• A genuine desire to help build a young organisation and contribute to its long-term growth.

Time Commitment
Flexible, remote, approximately 2–3 hours per week.
