We are looking to appoint a Chief Executive Officer to lead our team of dedicated professionals in an ambitious strategy to grow and develop our services across the UK.  Ideally the successful candidate will have some first-hand experience of neurodivergent children, combined with a knowledge of the education systems in place across the UK.  Experience of fundraising within a membership organisation and a track record in the effective use of technology will also be very useful.  This role will be supported by engaged Trustees, within an active community of families and schools, who recognise that the ability to empathise with young people with high learning potential and their families is at the heart of this role.

This vacancy has arisen as the result of the retirement of the current Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in Autumn 2024.

Main objectives of the role are to:

• help formulate and execute the agreed strategic objectives of the charity
• provide effective operational management of the charity

Main responsibilities for all employees

1. To keep up to date with statutory and best practice in safeguarding and child protection procedures, ensuring that all members of the charity’s community are aware of these, understand their roles and are confident to take action as needed.
2. To liaise effectively with colleagues, parents, schools, colleges and young people to secure excellent outcomes and well-being for young people with high learning potential. 
3. To support and implement the strategic aims and all aspects of policies and procedures.
4. To develop best practice in the provision for all high potential learners, including the disadvantaged and disengaged, those with dual or multiple exceptionalities, and English as an additional language, and children from minority groups. 
5. To model high standards of professional behaviours and attitudes at all times. 
6. To identify the professional learning needed to achieve excellent outcomes, and to monitor the impact to ensure you excel in the role.

Main responsibilities for the CEO

Strategy

• To collect and maintain information and evidence that contributes to the strategic planning of the charity.
• To work with the Board of Trustees (and other staff members and advisers as appropriate) to develop the strategic objectives and the strategic plan for the charity.
• To implement and periodically review the business plan and ensure all operational activities support the strategic objectives.

Management and Administration

• To motivate and develop the team of professional staff.
• To provide a structure of line management and support for all staff.
• To recruit and terminate staff in line with the charity’s policies and values.
• To oversee the work of contracted companies and individuals with the support of the Deputy CEO.
• To provide and promote structures for volunteers to support high learning potential.

Financial Management

• To manage the charity’s financial resources effectively, in line with the agreed annual budget.
• To maintain the charity’s compliance with financial bodies such as HMRC.
• To implement a robust income-generation strategy as agreed with the Board of Trustees
• To oversee the fundraising activities being implemented for the charity.
• To actively promote and ensure financial support for disadvantaged families to enable access to the charity’s services.

Quality of Services and Products

• To implement and oversee the development of high-quality services and products that are appropriate for the charity’s beneficiaries.
• To promote best practice and consistency of high quality in the delivery of all services and products.
• To ensure the charity keeps up-to-date with developments in education and wellbeing policy and practice and applies them to its own understanding and work.

Marketing and Advocacy

• To implement a coordinated marketing and social media strategy to increase awareness of high learning potential and the educational and wellbeing needs of the charity’s beneficiaries.
• To develop and promote understanding of high learning potential with a strong evidence base.
• To work collaboratively with other stakeholders to advocate for the rights and needs of young people with high learning potential.
• To be the prime contact with the media and be an advocate for the charity.

Governance

• To be accountable for the efficient, operational running of the charity.
• To ensure the charity’s compliance with legal requirements such as Companies House returns, GDPR, etc.
• To understand and adhere to the charity’s governance documents.
• To provide written and oral reports to the Board of Trustees at regular meetings.
• To respond to requests for information by the Board of Trustees in a timely fashion
• To support Trustees to maintain and regularly review the policies of the charity and to create and implement the accompanying operational procedures.

Monitoring and Evaluation

• To monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the charity through qualitative and quantitative key performance indicators.
• To be responsible for the appraisal of staff performance and identification of any needs for professional learning and development.

Safeguarding

• To act as Senior Designated Safeguarding Lead for the charity.
• To coordinate with the Trustee with Responsibility for Safeguarding and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads as appropriate to ensure best practice in safeguarding throughout the organisation.
• To regularly interact with children and young people in support of the charity's strategic objectives

Any Other Duties

• To lead by example and be part of a dedicated team to implement the strategic objectives of the charity.
• To carry out any other reasonable duties as identified as part of the job.

The successful candidate will lead on mass participation events ensuring an excellent level of service is maintained to maximse fundraising income.

The Charity team is responsible for raising millions of pounds each year to ensure Christie patients receive gold standard care and treatment. This includes everything from access to world first clinical trials and receiving radiotherapy in state-of-the-art treatment centres to young adults being cared for in a bespoke age-appropriate centre and being able to offer patients anxiety reducing complementary therapy, or even creative sessions in our art room.

Causeway runs safe houses for men, women and families who have escaped modern slavery. We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Accommodation Advocate working with female service users in our Liverpool safe houses. In this role you will work alongside a team to support service users living within our female safe houses based in Liverpool. You will equip and empower individuals who’ve experienced trauma to live free and meaningful lives. Day to day, this role includes providing service users with emotional and practical support; advocating on their behalf, communicating with other organisations including but not limited to health professionals, legal representation and the Home office and creating a warm and welcoming environment for service users to live in during their time with us.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Case working service users identified as PVOHT (Potential Victims of Human Trafficking).
• Regular feedback and review meetings with Accommodation Coordinator.
• Arranging and attending appointments for individuals or families.
• Following up all paperwork/online reporting in adherence to the terms of the contract. Including but not limited to; journey plans, risk assessments and inductions.
• Ensuring that all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met.

The Information Events Coordinator will deliver our information events programme consisting of face-to-face and online events hosted by the team and held throughout the UK, developing the strategy for the programme and implementing event activity with the aim to increase participation and attendance.

We are seeking an experienced Rent Officer to join our small, dispersed Rent Team which consists of a Rent Team Leader; two Rent Officers, and two part-time Rent Team Administrators which sits within our Housing and Property services. In conjunction with our Supported Housing services, the Rent Team is responsible for the collection of the organisation's rent and other property charges. As a Rent Officer you will manage a caseload of properties and will be responsible for monitoring rent accounts; ensuring that appropriate action is taken to maximize rental income. You will ensure accuracy of rent accounts’ and service users’ information held on the rent management database (Pyramid). 

In addition, you will liaise with relevant local authorises housing benefit departments; ensuring positive relationships are forged. You will have knowledge of the external environment in which YMCA DownsLink Group works and keep abreast of key changes, particularly around Welfare Reform.

Hybrid role – mainly based at Reed House in Hove, with an expectation to work out of other locations across the YMCA DownsLink Group area when required. This role plays a critical part in coordinating the group offering for women accessing our services, as well as providing administration support across the region.

•    Be the first point of contact for clients coming to the Women’s Centre; offering a warm welcome and trauma informed approach. 

•    Hold responsibility for the Minerva telephone number and email account in your region. 

•    Assist in researching additional resources and events for service users; both within the Centre and across the region. 

•    Contribute to creating and lead on updating the local Services Directory with details of local organisations, key contacts and details of services on offer, including eligibility criteria.  

•    Assist the Service Manager in managing the smooth running of the Women’s Centre in your region, including managing the group workshops timetable, arranging meetings and booking external venues for client groups or training events.

•    Manage administration for the Kent Minerva team

•    Assist the Service Manager with the quality assurance and collation of data and information as required, including for funder reports.

We are looking to recruit two additional project officers mainly to help deliver our Live Love Later Life and Healthsmart services whilst providing organisational and administrative support to help these run smoothly.

An exercise qualification and experience of delivering health checks are highly desirable. However, if you do not hold these qualifications you will need to undergo a chair-based exercise qualification and blood pressure training. Applicants need to be willing to undergo this training. They also need to have the confidence and enthusiasm to deliver exercise to groups of older people whilst motivating participants that may have a variety of physical and cognitive challenges. These attributes will be assessed through a task during the interview process.

This role plays a central role in the development and implementation of projects and partnerships at Action Hampshire. Your main focus will be to support the development and overseeing the mobilisation and delivery of new engagement projects. You will also support the ongoing delivery of existing projects at Action Hampshire, including in some cases taking a leading role in ensuring the project is delivered to a high standard. We would particularly welcome candidates with experience or an interest in energy advice, community research and supporting underserved communities and organisations.

You’ll bring creativity, organisation and relationship building skills to the management of your own projects and the development of your team. Self-motivated and able to work both independently and collaboratively, you will be committed to delivering results in order to solidify Action Hampshire’s reputation as a trusted and impactful deliverer of funded projects and services. OLDHAM COMMUNITY HUB YOUTH DEVELOPMENT WORKER

 PART-TIME, 32 HOURS PER WEEK

FIXED TERM, 1 year

SALARY:  £20,250 per annum pro-rata (25,312 for 1FTE)

Oasis are now in a position to employ an experienced Youth Development Worker to work alongside the children’s, youth and community hub team in Oldham. The role will be focussed on the Oldham South community (surrounding Oasis Academies Oldham and Limeside) working closely with the academies as part of Oasis Hub Oldham.

As a Youth Development Worker you will;

· Work as part of the community hub team to plan and deliver youth services that address the needs of the local neighbourhood, including open access, holiday and community activities.

· Deliver targeted programmes of work for young people impacted by youth violence.

· Build positive and supportive relationships with young people to develop their skills, knowledge and aspirations.

· Strengthen and sustain working relationships with local partners to provide holistic, sustainable and bespoke support for young people.

· Support communities impacted by critical incidents.

Amongst other requirements, the successful post holder must have:

· Relevant experience OR qualification in Youth & Community (JNC), Social Work (QSW) or SEND.

· Proven experience working with young people ‘at risk’.

· Reliability, with a flexible approach to changes and able to work unsociable hours.
