The Resettlement Team operate as a core team within The Passage Resource Centre, conducting initial triage assessments with new service users, supporting with the day to day running of the centre and reception area, and carrying a caseload of service users working towards agreed housing goals and objectives. The Irish Resettlement Worker is based within this team, focussing their work on supporting Irish service users.
Resettlement Workers are responsible for:
Managing and coordinating the support and resettlement of service users, ensuring:
- Service users have a safe and welcoming place to access and work towards positive change.
- They are offered practical and personal support in a way that is approachable, engaging, flexible and caring.
- They are supported to make the most of their strengths and to articulate and make progress to achieving their hopes and ambitions.
- They have opportunities to contribute and be involved through co-production, working with the Experts by Experience Facilitator to identify new ways of involving service user voices in the development and delivery of front-line services.
- Working effectively with other statutory and voluntary agencies, and the local community, to support service users in a holistic way.
- Contributing to continual service development & improvement, identifying and utilising referral pathways and building new partnerships to support positive resettlement for service users.
- Delivery of the No Night Out project, accurately assessing and referring eligible service users to ensure that we are working to prevent rough sleeping wherever possible.
- Working in line with The Passage policies and procedures, ensuring that the best possible service is provided to all service users.
The Irish Resettlement Worker will work predominantly with Irish service users to explore solutions and opportunities to resolve their housing situation. They will ensure delivery of a holistic services to Irish service users who present in crisis to The Passage Resource Centre, identifying housing opportunities where appropriate and offering a reconnection service back to Ireland where this has been identified as an appropriate option. They will also ensure that the cultural needs of Irish clients are explored and catered for.

About the role
We have an exciting opportunity to join our Edinburgh Skylight as a Receptionist/Administrator in our Crisis Skylight Edinburgh Team. You will be there to welcome people who are homeless seeking advice and start the process of helping them to end their homelessness.
You will support the team to manage a busy working environment, welcoming and supporting a range of people including new Skylight members, current members, staff, Crisis volunteers and visitors. You will provide administrative support for this fast and responsive service to those newly presenting as homeless. You will also carry out administration and housekeeping functions relating to the customer service and facilities management of Cranston House. This role is based onsite with no option for homeworking.
About you
To be successful in this role you will be highly organised with experience of working within a reception or administrative support role, as well as experience providing a high standard of customer service. We are looking for someone who understands the issues faced by homeless people and is excited to learn about the ways we can support them. You will be able to deal with challenging situations and individuals with a range of needs, to reach a positive resolution through a calm and confident approach.
You will have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work successfully with disadvantaged or socially excluded groups and individuals. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written will be key, as well as working collaboratively within a team. As you will be the first point of contact for many people, you need to be friendly, enjoy helping and be willing to learn about Crisis and all the other activities taking place within the building.

The 999 Club
The 999 Club has stood on the corner of Deptford Broadway for more than 30 years, working with and supporting the local community. Our focus now is on people who are street homeless, rough sleeping or precariously unhoused and those who have no recourse to public funds. As we are the 999 Club, everyone connected to us are our members.
The Gateway
Our day centre, The Gateway, is open five days a week and provides a welcoming, safe and friendly space where our members can spend time away from their usual situation and sort out practicalities like getting laundry done, taking a shower, charging their phone and having something to eat. It’s where our Intervention Team are often based as part of their work, empowering our members.
The Intervention Team
Working alongside the Essential Services Team and an amazing team of volunteers the Intervention Team provide triage, assessment, holistic progression planning, advocacy and support for members of the Gateway, identifying and addressing their immediate housing situation as well as wider social, health and wellbeing issues with the ultimate aim of them finding a pathway out of homelessness.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who likes people, who cares about doing a good job and who wants to be part of a dynamic team, providing the best service possible. We want a team member with common sense, who is assertive, compassionate, has a sense of humour, a no- nonsense, positive attitude and who is looking to make a difference in their community.
We’re recruiting a Complex Intervention Worker to work alongside Gateway members who are experiencing homelessness with overlapping challenges such as addiction, trauma or mental ill health. This would best suit someone with experience or really solid transferable skills.
