We are recruiting a Fundraising and Engagement Assistant Apprentice to provide outstanding data management, supporter care and assist the Challenge Events Fundraising Officer and wider fundraising team to support our income generation.

What you will do:

• Support the Fundraising team to uphold a high level of supporter care with a view to retention and increased engagement.
• Efficiently and accurately process and reconcile all incoming donation information, received daily, weekly and monthly from multiple digital sources, onto our database and acknowledge these within agreed timescales.
• Analyse all online income including but not exclusively from Just Giving, Enthuse, PayPal Giving Fund and Facebook along with all other income.
• Ensure that all third party received income is recorded on Raisers Edge and produce accurate reports for internal stakeholders.
• Be the first point of contact for challenge event supporters and manage and respond to queries.
• Record and update non-financial supporter information such as, communication preferences, research information and other personal information in line with our Data Protection policy.
• Distribute all parcels in a timely manner, making sure everything is recorded accurately.

To be successful in this role you will have:

• English and Maths GCSE or equivalent grade C or above
• Previous experience providing dedicated administration support.
• Experience of handling sensitive information appropriately
• Experience of working effectively within a team environment and assisting colleagues
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to write reports.
• Ability to handle calls and enquiries from stakeholders including people who may be vulnerable and /or bereaved sensitively and appropriately.

The Juice Academy is an industry-led apprenticeship provider. They are partnered with Clare Sweeney from Keepace Consulting to deliver the 13-15 month Fundraiser Level 3 programme. Apprentices work on the job within a charity whilst receiving 20% off the job training from current industry experts. The training sessions are a hybrid of face-to-face learning (two optional in-person days) in Manchester, and virtual half-day classrooms via Zoom. Apprentices also receive the on-the-job training in the workplace. The final three months of the course will be the ‘assessment period’ during which apprentices go through an End Point Assessment and are graded a pass, merit or distinction. Apprentices currently have a 94% distinction rate. The Juice Academy are part of the Apprentify Group, and development coaches support apprentices throughout the programme.

Nurturing Natural Connections 

Our client is looking for a passionate and driven person to habitat restoration, creation and enhancement activities on their owned greenspaces within the Nurturing Natural Connections (NNC) project, working closely with the Cumbernauld Reserves Manager, and project partners, and with the help of volunteers. 

Building on the success of previous projects, this project continues to realise the Cumbernauld Living Landscape long-term vision to improve Cumbernauld’s green spaces for both people and wildlife, helping everyone in the community connect with the nature on their doorstep. 

The candidate: 

The successful candidate will have a Higher Education qualification in environmental land management (Wildlife conservation/agriculture) and at least two years’ experience of wildlife reserve management and demonstrable track record in the environmental land management sector. 

Main Objectives 

The main objectives of the role are: 

Habitat management 

• Support delivery of habitat works, including woodland restocking towards native semi-natural woodland, creation and enhancement of species-rich grasslands and enhancing riparian corridors. 

• Monitor and evaluate (M&E) the delivery of these works including details of their successes and challenges. 

• Undertake and manage the maintenance of tools and equipment for relevant sites, including machinery, to ensure safe and efficient operation. 

• Respond to severe weather events with reactive remedial works as required e.g. clearing fallen trees and reinstating ground damaged by flooding. 

Health and Safety 

• Ensure compliance with health and safety, including safe working practices, volunteer safety, premises safety, and site safety. 

• Ensure all work by project staff, and volunteers is carried out in a safe manner, and in accordance with Health & Safety legislation, policies, activity risk assessments and best practice guidance. 

Volunteer recruitment

Purpose of the role

As the Board Secretary to the Board of Trustees, you will be responsible for administration support, diary management and meeting organisation of the Board and Board Committees including being responsible for the compiling and distribution of Board packs by co-ordinating input from relevant staff.

Administration support will include assistance with developing and recording annual workplans, minute-taking, action management and support with forward planning for meetings and key events. You will take ownership of the annual meeting schedule and calendar of Board and Committee meetings; you will also be responsible for organising other trustee and CEO related meetings at the discretion of the Chair of the Board.

As Executive Assistant, you will provide high quality administration support to the CEO and Senior Leadership Team (SLT), to ensure the smooth operation of CEO and SLT responsibilities and co-ordinating efforts of various parties to ensure completion of key tasks and actions. 

You will have significant experience of providing accurate proactive and responsive administrative assistance to senior staff and be able to demonstrate experience of developing and managing effective administrative systems.  Additionally, the ability to build and maintain trusted relationships through professional engagement and communication skills, both written and spoken, that are effective, empathetic and adaptable to different situations are key to this role.

You will be highly organised and responsive to others in a way that is both timely and professional, with well-developed time management skills and able to evidence completion of activities. Key responsibilites

Board Secretary 

• Develop and maintain annual workplans for the Board and Committees in conjunction with the Chair of Trustees, Committee Chairs, CEO and SLT to ensure agendas are structured and tasks are delivered and completed.

• Set Board and Committee meeting dates in conjunction with the CEO and Chair and organise all meetings which may be in person, online or hybrid.

• Produce Board and Committee meeting agendas in liaison with CEO and SLT, ensuring that committee and board workplans are adhered to, and action logs followed up in a timely manner. 

• Co-ordinate the collation of Board packs with input from SLT, the Governance Manager and other members of the Extended Leadership Team to support the agenda items.

• Oversee the timetable for production of Board packs and using the board portal (Team Engine), distribute agendas and the Board pack for all board and committee meetings on a timely basis. 

• Clerk all board and committee meetings, producing minutes and action logs in a timely fashion and ensuring they are signed off by the CEO, SLT lead and Chair. 

• Keep the board portal (Team Engine) up-to-date with meeting papers, policies and other relevant documents. 

• Administer all board appointments and reappointments, producing the induction plan and checking all paperwork is complete to ensure compliant appointments. 

• Support the production and delivery of Board business including the Annual Report and Accounts, recruitment and selection of trustees, and Board development activity where required. 

• In conjunction with the Company Secretary and Governance Manager, ensure adherence to submission with various regulatory and statutory documents to Companies House and the Charities Commission.

• Liaise with the Governance Manager and Chair on the administration of compliance and governance matters related to the Board and longer-term Board projects e.g. skills audits and Board development.

Executive Assistant 

• Provide proactive and responsive administrative support at an executive level to the CEO and SLT, including diary management and ad hoc administration tasks. 

• Develop, plan and maintain an organisational calendar and scheduling meetings and events in a co-ordinated and manageable way. 

• Liaise with SLT to plan an appropriate schedule of work for the organisational calendar to maximise collaboration and the efficient use of time and resources. 

• Provide executive and secretarial support including action logs at the weekly SLT meetings in an efficient and effective way e.g. using note taking software.  Assist with following up actions and meeting outcomes by the agreed deadlines. 

• Collate and distributing of agendas, actions and annual workplans for the SLT meetings in a timely manner. 

• Organisation and administrative support of charity wide events including internal quarterly whole organisation meetings, both in-person and virtual, to ensure the smooth and efficient running of these events. 

• Lead on the organisation and administration of specific project or task groups to ensure that agreed targets, objectives and deadline are met. 

General 

• Build awareness of the charity’s purpose through building strong and effective relationships with external stakeholders. 

• Be prepared to travel across the region and, on occasion, to other sites and national meetings as required. 

• Willingness to undertake continuous development and training for the role, including mandatory Day One and role specific training. 

• Additional ad hoc duties as and when required.

At Kids Matter, we are committed to delivering effective coaching. All Support Coaches are given the opportunity to go through the coaching accreditation process with ICF to become an Associate Certified Coach (ACC). Kids Matter provides the support and supervision for this to take place, and will cover the cost of the accreditation if the individual remains employed as a Support Coach for the two years following applying for accreditation. If the individual leaves before two years, a percentage of the accreditation cost will be required to pay back.

You will work closely with the Fundraising and Communications Manager to deliver compelling fundraising applications, steward donors, grow our community fundraising, and manage Caxton’s public-facing communications across digital and print. It’s a hands-on, varied role ideal for someone who’s an excellent communicator, highly organised, and motivated to make a difference.

Key Responsibilities

Fundraising

• Research, plan and draft compelling grant and funding applications.
• Maintain and update our CRM system (Beacon), ensuring records are accurate and communications are timely.
• Plan and deliver key supporter events.
• Lead on the development, delivery and stewardship of community fundraising activities, including challenge events.
• Prepare timely and engaging reports and updates for funders.
• Provide stewardship to individual supporters and donors
• Support on implementing our Monitoring and Evaluation Framework to capture meaningful programme insights to support funding applications and reporting.
• Collaborate with colleagues to gather and analyse qualitative data, including quotes, feedback and stories to demonstrate impact.

Communications

• Manage Caxton’s social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, Bluesky), creating engaging, youth-appropriate content that reflects our values and voice.
• Monitor, evaluate and report on social media performance to identify trends and opportunities for growth.
• Write and collect case studies and stories that showcase the experiences and successes of young people.
• Develop and maintain marketing materials, promotional assets, and internal communications tools.
• Maintaining the Caxton website, including writing blog posts and updating content as needed.
• Lead on the implementation of Caxton’s communications calendar to ensure consistent and strategic messaging.
• Strengthen our presence in the community and online through targeted communications initiatives

Person Specification

Essential:

• 2+ years’ experience in fundraising, particularly writing funding applications and/or managing donor relationships.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor messages for different audiences.
• Experience managing social media channels for an organisation.
• Confident using design tools (e.g. Canva) and email marketing platforms.
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
• Comfortable working independently and managing multiple priorities.
• Committed to the values of inclusion, equity and youth empowerment.

Desirable:

• Experience using Beacon or another CRM
• Knowledge of the youth or disability sector.
• Basic photography, video or design skills.

As our Wales Lead, you’ll take on a high-impact, strategic role at the forefront of creating real change for young people across Wales. Portsmouth Cathedral is seeking an experienced Finance Manager on a temporary contract.  Working with our new Chief Finance Officer you will support the ongoing development of our accountancy systems and processes, building on the work of the previous Finance Officer.

Key responsibilities  

• Banking & Transactions: Manage Cathedral bank and investment accounts, including BACS, cheques, international payments, and reconciliations.
• Accounting Systems: Maintain financial systems (currently Sage; may transition to Xero).
• Cash Handling: Oversee cash counting and deposits.
• Cash Flow & Reporting: Monitor cash flow and produce monthly reports for the COO and CFO.
• Management Accounts: Prepare monthly accounts and review financial performance with department heads.
• Payroll: Process payroll for ~30 staff, including pensions and HMRC submissions.
• Staff Changes: Handle paperwork for new starters and leavers.
• Invoicing & Credit Control: Issue invoices, maintain credit ledger, and update CRM.
• Expenses & Transfers: Process staff reimbursements and internal transfers, including contactless income allocations.
• Reconciliations & Meetings: Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and management accounts for leadership meetings.
• Budgeting: Support annual budget preparation and reforecasting with the COO and CFO.

The successful candidate will hold a formal accountancy qualification and be:

• Experienced in a similar finance role, ideally in a small charity team.

• Proficient in Sage, Xero, and Microsoft 365.
• Skilled in management accounting, reporting, and payroll processing.
