About Us

The Mariam Josie Foundation is a charitable organisation dedicated to supporting vulnerable children, promoting human rights, tackling hunger and creating meaningful opportunities for young people.

Our work focuses on supporting children and communities, particularly in The Gambia, through initiatives such as providing meals, educational resources, books and essential supplies.

We believe every child deserves access to food, education, dignity and the opportunity to thrive.

As the Mariam Josie Foundation enters a new chapter under new leadership, we’re looking for enthusiastic, creative and motivated individuals who want to help us grow our impact.

Whether you’re a student, recent graduate, working professional or simply someone passionate about making a difference, we’d love to hear from you!

We’re particularly interested in volunteers who can support us in the following areas:

Graphic Design & Creative Content

• Designing engaging graphics, posters and promotional materials.
• Creating videos and visual content for fundraising campaigns.
• Helping develop the foundation’s visual identity.

Social Media & LinkedIn Management

• Establishing and managing our LinkedIn presence.
• Creating engaging posts and growing our online community.
• Developing strategies to increase followers, engagement and awareness.

 Fundraising & Grant Writing

• Researching funding opportunities and charitable grants.
• Supporting grant applications and fundraising proposals.
• Developing creative fundraising ideas and campaigns.
• Helping us build relationships with potential donors.

 Content Writing & Communications

• Writing blogs, articles and impact stories.
• Creating content that highlights our charitable work.
• Supporting newsletters, communications and awareness campaigns.

Project Assistance & Outreach

• Supporting the planning and coordination of charitable projects.
• Reaching out to potential partners, organisations and supporters.
• Helping organise initiatives that support children and communities.
• Contributing ideas to expand the foundation’s reach and impact.

 Time Commitment

We understand that everyone has different commitments.

We’re looking for volunteers who can ideally dedicate a minimum of 2–4 hours per week, although hours are flexible and may vary depending on projects and availability.

Most opportunities can be completed remotely.
