We spotlight underrepresented stories, challenge outdated norms, and grow an audience through real talk, community, and purpose-led content. Now entering an exciting new growth phase, we’re looking for someone to own our social and digital engagement and help take our message further.

About the Role

We’re looking for a creative, proactive volunteer to manage and grow our presence across Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok. You’ll take the lead on crafting and executing a content strategy that builds awareness, engages early-career audiences, and amplifies the amazing work we’re already doing through our podcast and newsletter.

We’re flexible on title Head of Engagement, Social Media Lead, Community Growth Manager  you tell us what feels right. What matters is that you’re excited to:

• Manage our social accounts consistently

• Post meaningful, on-brand content (you can use past podcast clips, quotes, newsletter prompts, etc.)

• Develop a simple posting calendar with input from Beth & Katie

• Comment, engage, and show up in conversations aligned with our mission

• Suggest creative ideas (lives, reels, stories, community polls, series, etc.)

What You’ll Be Doing

✅ Respond to DMs, comments, and tag others into relevant posts

Arcadia Homes International

Arcadia Homes International is a social enterprise in Western Kenya providing compassionate home-based care, rehabilitation, and psychosocial support for stroke survivors and patients with chronic illnesses together with their caregivers/families.

Arcadia Homes International addresses critical social and environmental challenges affecting stroke survivors and patients with non-communicable diseases (NCDs) in Kenya, particularly in low-resource rural settings. After initial hospital treatment, many patients are abandoned at home with minimal follow-up care due to a stretched healthcare system. Families face a heavy economic burden that often forces patients to default on essential medications, physiotherapy, and clinic reviews, worsening their conditions and leading to avoidable complications or readmissions.

Caregivers, often family members, are overwhelmed, fatigued, and untrained, managing physically and emotionally demanding care responsibilities with little support, while also losing productive work time. This strain extends to the entire household, with children sometimes dropping out of school to care for their parents or due to financial hardship. Geographic barriers further complicate access to healthcare, as many patients live far from health facilities and lack affordable transport, leading to poor continuity of care. Patients’ mobility challenges, especially in stroke survivors, compound these issues, making even daily activities and accessing community spaces difficult.

Arcadia Homes offers an integrated, community-based home care model that brings healthcare, psychosocial support, rehabilitation, nutrition guidance, and economic empowerment directly to abandoned stroke survivors, NCD patients, and their families in rural Kenya.

Job Description

As a Volunteer Counsellor/Therapist you will provide:

· Online/telephone counselling/therapy support services to individual staff members in Hopscotch, who may be in need. The team have access to reflective supervision and external clinical supervision but sometimes need personal support for issues they are facing

· One-to-one counselling sessions online or by phone. With your recognised counselling qualifications, accreditation, insurance and experience you will be an asset to our small charity team

In this role you’ll be able to develop your counselling and therapy skills within an organisation which is person-centred and fiercely trauma-informed

What the role involves

This role may vary depending on needs, but is likely to include:

• Working with individual team members, as needs arise, over and above their clinical supervision. The team member may be experts in health and social care, domestic violence, mental health issues, or any of our other services
• Undertake an assessment session, followed by time-limited counselling with an integrative approach based on humanistic values (via Zoom or phone) to our staff, offering each up to 6 sessions
• Maintain succinct, relevant session notes and store these securely
• Maintaining client confidentiality, upholding data protection and equal opportunities principle
• Attend your own monthly supervision in line with your professional body’s code of ethics, to ensure safe working practices
• Completing paperwork for a DBS check with Hopscotch

What you need for this role

Essential

• Be a member - including student membership - of one of the recognised organisations (see below)
• Level 4 Diploma qualification as a minimum (or be studying towards one)
• Certificate in online counselling such as How to Do Counselling Online by Open University & BACP
• Minimum of 100 hours of supervised counselling hours
• Evidence of professional indemnity insurance and clinical supervision
• Able to keep people’s personal data safe
• Willing and able to provide counselling via Zoom from a private location with a stable WiFi connection
• Able to support a minimum of one team member a week and we request a minimum commitment of one year

InterVol is a student volunteering charity in the United Kingdom that connects students with volunteering opportunities locally and overseas. InterVol supports students to develop their skills with community projects in the UK and then use those skills to support the work of charitable partners overseas on health, education, refugee support, and conservation placements. This includes the timely submissions to the Charity Commission, ensuring that volunteering is safe and appropriate, and developing and maintaining a long-term strategy for InterVol. InterVol is a small charity with no staff, so trustees also play an important role in maintaining institutional memory for student committees which change annually. 

We are recruiting for general trustee roles and for a treasurer. For the treasurer role, we are looking for applicants with a specialism in financial management to oversee our bank account, monitor our online donation platform, make grants, donations and payments, and report on our finances annually to the Charity Commission. Trustees in non-finance roles will be allocated roles most relevant to their own experience e.g. specific university group support, specific placements, or thematic areas such as training or research.

As a trustee you are expected to take on roles including:

• Attend termly meetings (three annually, online) and annual meetings, where possible.

• Provide advice to the trustee board and our committees. This is either by email, or through the Trustees WhatsApp group.

• Work on specific projects with other trustees and advisors, e.g. managing interns, setting up new placement partnerships, and conducting/reviewing risk assessments.

• Identify potential partnerships in both the United Kingdom and overseas to forward the goals of the charity and strengthen our existing university projects.

• Attend training and network events to represent InterVol, make new connections and bring new ideas into the charity.

• Commit to 2-3 years of supporting the charity before handing over or renewing your term.

• Be based in the United Kingdom to allow travel to meetings.

Role Overview

As the Coordinator: Talent Acquisition, you will primarily focus on managing and scheduling interviews for various positions across the organization. Key Responsibilities

 Interview Management: Take ownership of the end-to-end interview process, from scheduling and coordinating interviews to conducting them. Ensure a seamless and professional experience for both candidates and hiring managers.
Candidate Evaluation: Conduct interviews, assess candidate qualifications, skills, and cultural fit, and provide feedback to hiring managers. Use behavioural interviewing techniques and other assessment tools to gauge suitability.
Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate closely with hiring managers to understand role requirements, team culture, and key competencies needed for each position.
Candidate Engagement: Build strong relationships with candidates, providing them with timely updates and ensuring a positive candidate experience throughout the process.
Reporting & Analytics: Track and report interview metrics, including candidate feedback, time-to-hire, and any recruitment challenges. Use data to continually improve the interview process.
Onboarding Support: Work closely with HR colleagues to ensure a smooth transition from interview to onboarding for successful candidates.
Compliance & Record Keeping: Ensure that all interview processes adhere to company policies, legal requirements, and best practices. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the applicant tracking system (ATS).

Key Skills & Qualifications

Experience: 1+ years of experience in recruitment, specifically in conducting interviews and managing the interview process.
Education: A degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field is preferred. CIPD Level 3 or equivalent is a plus.
Interviewing Expertise: Strong background in conducting interviews, including using behavioural and situational interview techniques.
Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence candidates and hiring managers effectively.
Attention to Detail: Ability to assess candidates thoroughly and provide insightful feedback to ensure the right hiring decisions are made.
Technology: Proficiency in Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and MS Office. Familiarity with interview scheduling tools and recruitment platforms is beneficial.
Problem-Solving: Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
