Your role 

The purpose of your role is to assist Unfold’s volunteer applicants in a smooth and timely onboarding experience.  The role will provide you with an opportunity to gain or further develop administrative, organisational, data processing and communication skills in a welcoming and supportive environment, whilst gaining an understanding of the charity business and development.

What will you be doing? 

On a weekly basis you will be supported to carry out the following:

• Send next step emails following mentoring training.
• Request, track and confirm receipt of references.
• Create volunteer profiles on our online training platform.
• Send DBS application invites and see DBS applications through to completion 
• Communicate updates with the Volunteer Coordinator and share any challenges or concerns regarding the onboarding process.
• Work in line with GDPR guidelines.
• Any other duties as reasonably required.

Training  

• You will be trained by the Volunteer Coordinator and supported throughout your role in Unfold’s systems and processes.
• You are welcome to attend our mentoring training, giving you the opportunity to further understand the needs and lives of the communities your role will help us to serve.

About you 

This is a great opportunity to gain experience working with a charity and develop your existing skills and learn new ones. We need you to get involved and help make positive changes to the lives of families and young people in Westminster. 

You will be an individual who: 

• Has good organisational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Is confident with or willing to learn the use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook). 
• Is willing to develop skills in the use of our CRM system.
• Is committed to working as a team to achieve Unfold's aims. 

This role may particularly appeal to you if you are studying or interested in Psychology, Sociology or learning more about the charity sector. Previous Office Volunteers have undertaken studies on Unfold’s service user trends as part of their Master's degree dissertation, which we would welcome should you like to initiate a similar project, however, this is absolutely not a requirement for the role!

The Commitment

Minimum 6 hours weekly, Monday to Friday, including Tuesdays or Wednesdays at Unfold’s Office in Victoria. 

Bring your organisational skills and event management experience to support us to our aims of promoting green spaces in Greater London and making London a better, greener and healthier place for everyone to live in, work in and enjoy.

CPRE London’s events schedule​ (see website) is growing fast and, with more and more people attending, we now need someone to assist with the management. The role will be to help organise and manage all aspects of our online and occasional in-person events.

We are currently seeking individuals with event management skills and with a passion for environmental conservation to join our team. The role needs 3-4 hours of your time per week with the flexibility to be able to attend online events, especially the lunchtime webinars online, (usually 3rd Thursday of the month); occasional evening in-person meetings (possibly 2 or 3 times a year). Ideally our volunteers will be able to offer a commitment of 6 months or more.

An events volunteer will help CPRE with the work involving multiple events, including the "Urban Tree Festival" and "London Rivers Week". Successful candidates will get the opportunity to participate in a range of fun and interesting events across summer months.

• Supporting event design to help the public engage with the importance and value of London's trees and rivers and potentially be inspired to get involved in green volunteering
• Developing systems and arrangements to help things run smoothly

• Events follow-up to help maximise event legacy

A confident and experienced hypnotherapist, with appropriate qualifications and interest in working with clients affected by addiction. We are looking for short-term volunteers to help us find new ways of supporting our clients on a 1-2-1 basis and of developing their independent living skills to move on away from homelessness.

About the Role

•Previous line management experience, with a demonstrable record of supporting and developing HR team members or volunteers.
•A practical, sleeves-rolled-up approach - someone who is hands-on, accessible, and able to get things done in a busy, volunteer-led environment.

• marketing. Spreading the word about our fundraising activities, for example on social media and with the local press  

• completing administration. Processing donations, sorting and recording donated goods, completing Gift Aid paperwork

● championing our work. Getting involved with developing new fundraising ideas and increasing community engagement

● photography. Capturing images of cats in care, cats we are helping, events and all things Cats Protection

Time expectation

This is a flexible role that can fit around your other commitments to suit you. You’ll be part of a team raising vital funds while having fun in the process!
