We are currently losing around 10 million hectares of fertile soil worldwide. That's about 14 million football pitches. However, good soils are the source of more than 90% of our food. At the same time, the world's population will grow to 10 billion people by 2050. Food will therefore become scarce, especially high-quality food, as this depends on the quality of the soil. The effects of climate change are worsening the situation of soils because droughts and extreme rainfall are becoming more severe and more frequent. Current farming methods lead to high CO2 emissions, diseased soils produce low-quality food and biodiversity is rapidly declining, as around half of biodiversity lives in the soil.

Role Overview
Your role will be to aid design and implement a preprocessing model that ensures all incoming cervical images meet strict quality and consistency standards before being passed into downstream models.
Our cervical cancer screening method is dependent on pictures taken using a smartphone, leading to large variation in lighting and cervix positions in the image. On top of natural variances in fluid blockages or rotation and angle or cervix, it’s important that only valid images are run through our model.

Key Responsibilities

• Build automated checks for:

As a Fundraising Specialist you will be in charge of the following tasks :

Fundraising Strategy Development:

• Develop synthetic image pipelines using diffusion models (Stable Diffusion, DreamBooth, LoRA) or GAN-based approaches
• Generate class-balanced datasets, particularly for underrepresented abnormal cases
• Design and run experiments comparing real vs synthetic vs hybrid datasets
• Evaluate synthetic data quality using FID, KID, and downstream model performance
• Implement prompt engineering and conditioning strategies for medically realistic outputs
• Perform domain gap analysis between real and synthetic data

As the Chair of the Board of Trustees, you will play a pivotal role in guiding and further developing the charity's strategic direction and acting as an ambassador for the organisation. The Chair will be required to lead the Board to consensus-based decisions, as well as provide strategic and critical support to its Director. The Chair will ensure that the organisation continues to fulfil its objectives and work towards its goals and mission, while also promoting the highest standards of charity governance. The Chair reports to the Board of Trustees. 

Oxford Friends of the Earth is looking for a new Coordinator. We are a voluntary group with 1800+ supporters and focus on climate action, nature and climate solutions, clean rivers, air pollution, and transport.  We run events, lobby MPs and councillors, produce reports and we have strong partnerships across Oxfordshire and with national bodies. We have existed since the 1970s and meet as a group monthly in central Oxford.We are part of the Friends of the Earth global network, working to protect and improve our environment locally and nationally.

Our current Coordinator is taking a break: we’d like to find someone who can commit to offering a few hours most weeks and attending our monthly meetings.

This involves:

· Setting up meetings and managing our monthly mailing

· Working with our Campaigns Officer to develop our campaigns

· Working with our social media officer to develop our engagement

· Working with other volunteers on specific campaigns / projects

· Exploring opportunities for us to gain support

· Maintaining our supporter database and being a point of contact for people interested to know more about the group

· Managing and developing our website

· Supporting event planning and management

The post would suit anyone seeking to develop their organisational skills for a career in voluntary and environmental sectors.  We can offer on-the-job and formal training and support for people wishing to get involved, and can pay travel and related expenses.

Role Overview

We are looking for a creative and motivated Volunteer Social Media Manager to help grow our online presence, engage our community, and promote our mission. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys storytelling, digital content creation, and making a positive impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, create, and schedule content across social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn)
• Develop engaging posts including graphics, captions, and short-form videos
• Monitor comments and messages, responding in a timely and professional manner
• Support the development of a social media strategy aligned with our goals
• Track performance metrics (engagement, reach, growth) and suggest improvements
• Stay up to date with social media trends and best practices
• Collaborate with the team to promote events, campaigns, and initiatives

Skills & Experience (Preferred but Not Required)

• Interest in social media, marketing, or communications
• Familiarity with platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn
• Basic design skills (e.g., Canva or similar tools)

Can you help us to raise awareness of bowel cancer symptoms across your local area?

Become a Bowel Cancer Awareness Champion and use your voice in the community, in-person or virtually, to make sure everyone knows how to spot the signs and symptoms of bowel cancer. This will help make sure more people can spot the signs sooner and so get a diagnosis at the earliest possible stage when the disease is more treatable and curable.

Take part from the comfort of your own home, using your social media to share our specifically curated social media graphics and videos in your community by reaching out to local businesses, community notice boards and places of worship to display our posters, or at your workplace by sharing information through your staff newsletters, our leaflets, or by putting our symptoms posters up in your staff toilets.

No long-term commitment is required — just a little bit of your time and your local knowledge! We'll provide you with everything you need to get you started including our toolkit and handy guide, as well as support from our dedicated volunteering team.

However you choose to take part, you’ll be helping your local community by making them aware of the symptoms of bowel cancer and where to find out more about what to do about them.
