We are dedicated to empowering women and children in African communities to overcome mental health challenges and cultivate resilience and joy through providing free counselling.

Africa has a serious mental health issue that has to be addressed right away as the continent has the highest suicide rate in the world, estimated at 11.2 per 100,000 people, despite a moderate reduction over the past ten years (far above the global average of 9.0 per 100,000). Part of the mental health emergency is due to the AIDS epidemic, widespread poverty, and a lack of mental health resources and infrastructure. Providing mental health is essential for sustainable development as it enables individuals to pursue education, maintain employment and contribute positively to their communities. For women and children specifically, better mental health can lead to improved family dynamics, increased school attendance, and greater economic participation.

The Tafara Wellness Initiative looks to address the mental health crisis and build more resilient and thriving communities in Africa through:

• Ensuring women and children in Africa have access to timely, appropriate and tailored psychological and mental wellness programs that enable them to thrive.
• Expanding communal support and awareness for mental health and eliminate stigmas around mental health in African communities

Measurement Evaluation & Learning (MEL) Officer

We are seeking a dedicated MEL Officer to support our growing impact. This role is crucial to strengthening our data systems, tracking outcomes, and informing strategic decisions. You will work closely with programme leads to develop frameworks, tools, and reporting mechanisms that reflect the voices and experiences of the communities we serve.

Key Responsibilities

-Design and implement MEL frameworks and tools across programme tiers

-Collect, clean, and analyse quantitative and qualitative data

-Support development of learning materials and donor reports

-Help establish feedback loops with beneficiaries and partners

-Contribute to learning reviews and adaptive programming

-Build team capacity in basic MEL practices as needed

Educators and facilitators wanted to help East London Waterworks Park deliver its environmental learning goals.

East London Waterworks Park is a volunteer-led charity that has won a 2024 New London Architecture award and raised £2m towards buying land from the Department for Education to transform the 14-acre Thames Water Depot on Lea Bridge Road on the border of Waltham Forest and Hackney, into a new biodiverse park with natural swimming ponds, forest schools and community spaces. 

We are looking for educator and facilitator volunteers to participate in our community-led working group, who are collaborating with schools, universities and youth groups that help the design of the park. 

Examples of projects are: 

• collaborating on nature walk activities for schools
• supporting university students interviewing teachers
• creating lesson plans to co-design the park. 

Schools, universities and youth groups we've collaborated with include:

• Kingsmead School, Enfield

• Royal College of Art
• University of Westminster

We're looking for people to lead on these projects and facilitate the direction of the learning working group.

The Learning Circle currently meets monthly on a Wednesday evening at 8pm for an hour on Google Meet and spends voluntary time outside of the meeting completing agreed tasks remotely.

You should be an experienced teacher, educational consultant, forest school leader, training and development specialist, learning designer, facilitator or any other kind of role creating learning projects, programmes and experiences. Our roles are quite flexible. We hope that people bring radical imagination, peace with nature, and courageous inclusiveness to the role. 

Your support will help young people and learners improve their environmental knowledge of design and research as well as contributing to our community-owned park. This will in turn provide a sense of stewardship over the land once the park is created and student's ideas have been built into the park. 

Creating learning projects with educational institutions will also help our charity with the strategy to buy the land through showing the value of our environmental education programme before we create the park.

We inspire creativity and social change.

We address two challenges:

1. Individual feelings of helplessness and anxiety amidst big, global problems such as poverty and climate change combined with a growing disconnection between individuals, cultures and communities across the world.
2. The lack of access to essential resources for marginalized groups of people. One example is that today, about 3.6 million Filipinos live without access to electricity or light. They get by with kerosine lamps which are not only hazardous to human health but dangerous to the environment. And now, with the global oil crisis in effect, families can literally burn up to 40% of their monthly income for just 2 hours/night of a dim flame.

It is our mission to enable people to apply their creativity for the benefit of society. We want to bring together artists from every discipline, age, and aspiration and enable them to collaborate on a platform that not only gives them visibility but a meaningful purpose behind their work. Ultimately, we want to mobilise communities to solve real-world problems in a fun and creative way. We do this on a per-project basis and mix the elements of creativity, culture, and social impact into everything we do. We have worked with DJs, dancers, graphic artists, directors, as well as early creatives who have helped us with event decoration, social media promotion, support with grant writing. Our collaborators have come from across the world. Among the impacts we have made, it ranges from projects that make an impact for disadvantaged families in the Philippines, to supporting low-income LGBTQ communities with their rental costs.

As our local Group Coordinator you’ll take the lead in making sure your local group works as effectively as possible. You’ll recruit, induct and support other group volunteers to make sure your group’s activities meet the needs of your local MS community. This is a unique opportunity to contribute your expertise at a strategic level, helping us manage and grow our investments to support our lifesaving work across the country. 

As Chair, you’ll provide leadership, direction, and expert insight to ensure our investment strategy aligns with our values, financial goals, and long-term sustainability. You’ll oversee a small group of fellow experts, facilitating thoughtful discussions and sound decisions on portfolio performance, risk, and ethical investing. 

What you’ll do: 

• Lead and chair IAG meetings (at least twice a year), setting agendas and driving effective discussions.
• Reporting to the Chair of Finance and Audit Committee, advise on investment strategy, portfolio construction, asset allocation, and risk management.
• Collaborate with the Executive Team and Trustees to monitor and review performance.
• Ensure our investment approach aligns with regulatory and ethical standards, including ESG principles.
• Review investment opportunities and recommend changes where needed to the Finance and Audit Committee.
• Support succession planning and help onboard new IAG members.
• Report quarterly to the Finance and Audit Committee. 

What we’re looking for: 

We’re seeking a strategic thinker with a strong sense of purpose and the following: 

• Leadership experience in investment management, finance, endowments, or pensions.
• A deep understanding of investment strategy, capital markets, and risk oversight.
• Experience chairing advisory groups, boards, or committees at a senior level.
• A collaborative mindset and excellent communication skills.
• A strong commitment to ethical practice and fiduciary responsibility.
• Experience with mission-led or non-profit organisations (preferred).

Dog A.I.D. empowers physically disabled people by coaching them to train their own pet dog to become an accredited Assistance Dog. By focusing on the existing pet/owner bond, outcomes for our clients include:

· increased opportunities, with many of our clients being able to return to work or education, supported by their accredited Assistance Dog.
