We are seeking a Human Resources lead to support our charity in developing and managing our HR strategy, policies and processes.
Watford and Three Rivers Refugee Partnership (WTRRP) provides practical and emotional support, advice and befriending to refugees, migrants and people seeking asylum living in the Watford and Three Rivers area. We are a growing charity serving an increasing number of clients. We have been able to secure some funding which has enabled us to be able to employ three members of staff, one Full time Caseworker, a part time Office Manager and a part time Volunteer Coordinator. We are based in St. Mary’s Church, Watford in the heart of the City Centre.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for someone with the passion and drive for Human Resources, who will play a key role in shaping our HR policies and practice, supporting our team, and ensuring a positive and effective work environment. As well as paid staff, we have a pool of dedicated volunteers that support the charity and there will be some policies that will need reviewing that apply to both staff and volunteers.
Key Responsibilities
· Develop HR policies and procedures aligned with best practice
· Guide the Trustees on performance management and development
· Provide guidance on employment law, contracts and HR compliance
· Foster a positive and productive culture within our Charity
· Be part of a team to resolve issues with staff and volunteers using clear processes
· Become a Trustee of the Charity and attend meetings which are held in the evenings in Watford
Who We’re Looking For
· HR experience (manager level desirable)
· Knowledge of HR policies, employment law, and best practice
· Ability to adapt to the context of the Charity, and working with volunteers
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Time Commitment
The hours would vary and initially may be more whilst our policies are developed and reviewed.
3-5 hours a week.
Committee meetings are on varying weekday evenings, currently 6 per year.

Role Description:
The Safe Space is a local hub for anyone who feels they are nearing crisis point. We are here to listen to what you need and work with you to help. These might be strategies to help you cope in the moment, a range of activities that we provide free of charge, resources to take away or connect you with practical local services. As a part of this, we are looking for volunteers to offer support to individuals who may access our crisis drop-in services. This includes a variety of tasks, which include greeting individuals, offering a cup of tea and biscuits, general reception duties, supporting 1:1 session, completing administrative tasks and generally keeping clients engaged and safe on our premises.
We are looking for someone who
- Has lived experience of mental health/social crisis
- Preferably have had experience working with people who experience poor mental health
- Are comfortable with co-producing and facilitating peer led workshops where applicable if required.
- Are willing to actively participate with clients 1:1 and in group settings
- Are able to take on any ad hoc admin/support responsibilities within the Safe Space Team
Time commitment and expenses:
- Minimum 6 months commitment, offer I day per week during our opening hours of 2pm–10pm. Please indicate your preferred volunteering day(s) plus preferred site (H&F, Ealing or Hounslow) on your application.
- We will provide volunteers with an induction, training, and ongoing mentoring to support them in the role

The RSPCA Finchley, Golders Green, Hendon & District Branch
The RSPCA Finchley, Golders Green, Hendon & District Branch is one of the branches of RSPCA, but we are also a separately registered charity looking after animals in our local area. Much of the animal welfare work of RSPCA is carried out through local branches, which is run by volunteers who have the support of the National Society of RSPCA.
The main activity of our branch is local animal welfare. We take in neglected, abandoned & vulnerable animals locally, via our own animal welfare officer, as well as the national RSPCA Inspectorate officers. Our funds are mostly raised through our 2 charity shops.
Fundraising Volunteer responsibilities
- Organise, advertise, and promote fundraising activities to raise vital funds to improve animal welfare.
- Plan and participate in organised events for fundraising over an agreed period.
- Communicate all planned activities with staff and other volunteers.
- Work alongside other volunteers, staff, and members of the public, ensuring excellent customer service at all times.
- Ensure best practice in fundraising and that it is legally compliant.

Qualifications
- Experience: 3+ years in L&D, instructional design, or leadership development, ideally within mission-driven or D&I-focused organisations, with hands-on experience using AI tools.
- Skills:
- Expertise in e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate, Canva) and LMS platforms,.
- Strong facilitation and storytelling skills for remote and hybrid audiences.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI) to measure program impact.
- Proficiency in prompt engineering for generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) to create scalable content.
- Knowledge:
- Deep understanding of adult learning theories, inclusive pedagogy, and social justice frameworks.
