Web developers and designers wanted to support East London Waterworks Park in continuing to improve its website and digital infrastructure.
East London Waterworks Park is a volunteer-led charity that has won a 2024 New London Architecture award and raised £2m towards buying land from the Department for Education to transform the 14-acre Thames Water Depot on Lea Bridge Road on the border of Waltham Forest and Hackney, into a new biodiverse park with natural swimming ponds, forest schools and community spaces.
We are looking for web developers and designers to contribute to our community-led working group who are working on coordinating content and infrastructure for the East London Waterworks Park website.
There is opportunity to lead on projects across web development and UX and web design, and facilitate the direction of the working group.
The Comms Circle currently meets fortnightly on a Tuesday evening on Google Meet and spends voluntary time outside of the meeting completing agreed tasks remotely.
You should be experienced in HTML, PHP, CSS, Javascript and SQL, and or UX and web design. You should be comfortable with community-led processes. Our roles are quite flexible. We hope that people bring radical imagination, peace with nature, and courageous inclusiveness to the role.

We have an AI-generated concept for our logo, but we need YOUR expert eye and design prowess to transform it into a professional, impactful, and versatile brand identity. The tragedy of male suicide in the UK demands action. We refuse to be invisible. Our visual brand needs to cut through the noise, convey our unique blend of support and growth, and appeal directly to men aged 16-50 across the UK.
As our founding Volunteer Graphic Designer, you will be the creative force behind our entire visual presence. This is a hands-on, highly autonomous remote role requiring a keen eye for branding, a passion for design, and the ability to translate our mission into compelling visuals.
Who We Need to Poke:
We're seeking an experienced, proactive Graphic Designer with:

Key Responsibilities:

What We Are Looking For

	Design Proficiency: Strong demonstrable skills in graphic design, with proficiency in industry-standard software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign or similar tools like Canva Pro).

	Portfolio: A portfolio or examples of previous work demonstrating strong typography, layout, and visual communication skills.

	Reliability: The ability to work independently, manage your time effectively, and meet agreed-upon deadlines within a flexible schedule.

The role
You will lead ThriveSpark’s brand, marketing and communications so more people hear about our work and take action—whether that’s booking training, buying tickets to peer-meetups, or commissioning projects. This is a hands-on board role: you’ll set strategy and also deliver a simple, repeatable comms rhythm across web, social, email and media.
Key responsibilities
- 
	Own the annual marketing & comms plan, content calendar and core messages.

	Produce clear, accessible copy for web, social, email and press; ensure plain English and alt-text.

	Run campaigns that grow enquiries for schools/employer programmes, coaching and peer-meetups.
