We require a Social Worker to provide high quality social work in our schools across the Diocese of Salford according to each school’s formal agreement.
You will work directly with children and young people, their parents, carers and schools in order to further the child’s welfare and provide the interventions necessary to enable them to use their learning opportunities to the full. You must be able to provide a non-judgemental, caring and confidential environment throughout this work to ensure the issues are addressed in an appropriate manner for all those involved.
To apply you will have experience of working with children and families and experience of direct work with children which includes supporting school staff with safeguarding. You must have competent IT skills which includes providing regular reports to the individual schools and Caritas and feedback to school staff as required. You must be able to maintain appropriate resources, databases and case files as well as maintain efficient and comprehensive referral and recording systems.
Registered social worker status with Social Work England (SWE) is essential and the salary includes accrued annual leave.

Main aim of the role:
Playing a vital role within our expanding youth support team at Future Skills, you will work to support and empower our young people to re-engage and return to education and employment. In delivering the role, you will work on a rota shift pattern, ensuring young people at the service have non-judgemental, objective, and supportive staff during the day. You will work with the Managers and the wider housing team to provide effective day to day management of our accommodation project. About the Role
The Youth Mental Health Worker will support young people aged 14-18 to deescalate crisis and improve their mental health and wellbeing, through focussed 1:1s and structured crisis interventions. Hounslow Young People is Supported Accommodation Service for young people and young parents aged 16-25 in Hounslow. In the role of Waking Night Support Worker; individuals will ensure continues support is provided to young people at the standards of day staff with particular focus on safety of vulnerable young people.
About the Role:
Waking Night Support Worker will work in line with person centred risk assessments; support plans and liaise with Support Workers to provide comprehensive handover and partnership working. They will be observant of changes in behaviour and presentations ensuring appropriate actions are taken to document and report changes in support needs of young people. Waking Night Support Worker will be able to carry out all necessary health and safety actions including light cleaning tasks and environment management. New Horizon Youth Centre has been commissioned by the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) as part of an Alliance with Safer London, St Giles Trust and the Anna Freud Centre to deliver on their Children and Young People’s Violence and Exploitation and Reduction support service. The commission will run from June 2024 for three years. As part of this, an additional service will be set up within the NHYC Youth Justice team specifically to deliver on the Alliance contract. The Services Manager will be the key operational lead for the Alliance, and oversee successful delivery of housing casework services to young people fleeing violence and exploitation who are referred in. You should have experience of working in services that support young people fleeing violence or who are impacted by the criminal justice system, and have a solid understanding of housing options for young people under 25. You should be exceptionally well organised and have excellent partnership management skills.
Salary: £37,024 - £41,600

What you'll do:

Working proactively with other members of the team to handle the service caseload and administrative responsibilities.
Supporting customers to set personalised goals in the form of a Support Plan.
Conducting regular key work sessions that are innovative and engaging in order to achieve Support Plan goals.
Ensuring ongoing assessment and management of risks associated with customers within an attitude of 'positive risk taking'.
Providing support with daily living activities, including practical assistance to support customers to independent living e.g. budgeting, cooking, community activities.
Supporting customers to maintain a healthy environment and where appropriate assisting them to clean their accommodation and maintain good personal hygiene.
Assisting in the recording and reporting of customer incidents.
Managing customer referrals, completing assessments and obtaining and maintaining all relevant paperwork.

You will contribute to the smooth and safe running of the services, along with supporting young people to develop living skills such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting, managing behaviour, seeking and securing employment and making wise decisions. When required you will record any incidents, accidents and safeguarding issues and share information with relevant colleagues.
