We are looking for a volunteer to find published materials related to Quilombo’s key objectives, especially cultural and racial diversity, and stereotypes in UK communities. The materials include all types of evidence, articles, journals, newspaper columns, local and global news stories.

The researcher will help to collect information that can be used as an evidence base to help inform future activities, and also in exhibitions, workshops, and community events.

The Professional Development Programme with Quilombo UK runs over a period of 16 weeks, is UNPAID and requires a minimum of 12 hours commitment per week across Monday, Wednesday and/or Friday.
Upon successful application, our HR team will contact you to arrange an interview. Following a successful interview, we'll initiate the onboarding process by sending you the necessary documents. Quilombo UK is looking for an IT specialist to join their national volunteering team working from home. By joining QuilomboUK you will be supported and guided by experienced staff and volunteers, who are willing to share their skill set and will provide you with great opportunities for development in many different areas.
What will the role entail?
> Adding new volunteers to google systems
> Managing Passwords
> Google Drive maintenance
> Integrator Management (software that links to MT)
> Whatsapp / Alternatives
> Managing website structure
> Support for online database for interactive products
> Making sure all accounts are safe and secure
> Able to volunteer at least 12 hours a week (preferably 2 days, 6 hours each day) for minimum 16 weeks

Once your onboarding and identification documents are received and verified, you'll be invited to a 6-hour HR and System Induction. We are are looking for enthusiastic volunteers who want to support our members and join our friendly team of staff and volunteers. In this role, you will be assisting with the incoming calls coming into the National Helpline. Our members get in touch for a whole host of reasons - no day is the same! Some knowledge or experience of sight and or hearing loss would be an advantage in this particular role and confidence in speaking with people of all ages and backgrounds over the phone.
Duties would be varied ranging from dealing with basic incoming contact and referring any complex issues to our Membership Services team, updating our information library or carrying out research to support our work helping those with sight and hearing loss. You’ll receive full one to one training and gain a range of new skills and the confidence to use them. Although this is a remote role, there will always be a member of the team available to support you in your role.
We are looking for volunteers who would be available to support us in a slot between 10.00am – 12.00pm Mondays and Tuesdays.

Join our dynamic team as a Volunteer HR Recruiter and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our non-profit Organisation. As a key member of our Human Resources team, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end recruitment process, ensuring the acquisition of talented individuals passionate about our mission. Your expertise will contribute to building a dedicated and skilled workforce, enabling us to impact the community positively. Collaborate with hiring managers to identify hiring needs and implement effective sourcing strategies,
Interview and Selection
Build and maintain a strong talent pipeline.
Conduct initial screening interviews to effectively evaluate the candidates’ skill set and cultural fit while providing an engaging experience.
Foster positive relationships with candidates, keeping them informed about the status of their applications.
Ensure compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate records and recruitment metrics.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Proven experience as an HR Recruiter or in a similar role
Familiarity with job boards and professional social platforms

Volunteering in one of our Sense Shops will involve a variety of tasks that you can get involved with. These include:

- Sorting, steaming, tagging and preparing donated goods for sale
- Creating eye catching window and in-shop displays
- Keeping the shop floor well stocked, tidy, clean and organised
- Processing sales and serving on the till
- Promoting Gift Aid and other Sense fundraising initiatives
- Acting as an ambassador for Sense; promoting the shop and Sense in your local community
- Supporting with the recruitment and training of new volunteers
- Following new health, safety and social distancing measures to ensure the safety of everyone
