Why Does Roots Academy Exist?

Crisis of Faith: 1 in 4 young Muslims are leaving the religion due to various factors, primarily the pervasive anti-religious content and temptations they encounter online and offline. 

Roots Academy exists to bridge this gap by providing a structured and transformative Islamic education that speaks directly to the needs and challenges of young Muslims today, delivered in an engaging and accessible form that removes barriers to access and provokes thought and action.
 

Role Summary 

The Site Manager role involves overseeing a number of university Islamic Societies or Muslim Student Associations who are interested in partnering with Roots Academy to host the Essentials Onsite Program an in-person transformative educational class tailored to university students on campus. The Site Manager role is responsible for establishing and maintaining positive relationships with these ISoc/MSA committees and offering 1:1 support to ensure that they have an excellent educational experience.
 

Key tasks

• Actively establish and maintain positive relationships with ISoc/MSA committees and Student Ambassadors (ISoc/MSA representative) to ensure an exceptional onsite experience for students, and promote retention of sites.
   
• Be the point of contact for ISocs/MSAs: answer questions, offer light-touch support and coaching on ways to improve the class, engage on a 1:1 basis listening to their needs and concerns, and addressing these accordingly.
   
• Liaise with Student Ambassadors to ensure that logistics involved in marketing and running the class are taken care of by the ISoc/MSA.
   
• Collect ideas and best-practices from how different campuses deliver their class
   
• Be the internal point of contact for any queries or updates related to ISocs/MSAs assigned.

Histiocytosis UK are seeking Expressions of Interest from Parents, Patients and Professionals for positions on the Advisory Panel to the Board of Trustees.

Advisory Panel Members are appointed for one year, attending a minimum of 2 meetings (one in person and one virtual). Their role is to help steer the charity to ensure that no one should die of histiocytosis and to represent patients and professionals in the histiocytosis field. Advisory Panel members can apply to join the Board of Trustees ( for two years). The current vacancies have arisen because some members have come to the end of their terms of service.

The APM appointments are to the General Portfolio Team, we would also be particularly interested to hear from those who would be happy to take up either Financial/Banking or Scientific Research Portfolios should they be offered the opportunity to join the Board of Trustees.

Yorkshire Wolds Music Foundation is a charity that presents various music and arts projects in East Riding of Yorkshire.

Overview:
Oversee and maintain robust safeguarding standards across all CWV activities, ensuring children and families are protected and supported appropriately.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) for the organisation

• Maintain and update safeguarding policies and training

• Ensure all staff and volunteers receive safeguarding inductions

• Handle safeguarding reports and referrals in line with policy

• Work with programme leaders to embed welfare practices in all delivery

Skills & Experience:

• Safeguarding Level 3 (or willing to complete training)

• Experience in child protection, social work, or education

• Strong understanding of confidentiality and record-keeping

• Empathetic, calm, and professional under pressure

We'd love you to volunteer regularly at our drop-in sessions for customers in Loughborough. Help local people with sight loss become independent technology users and enjoy the benefits of being online. You'll work closely with individuals, supporting them to develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to get the most out of technology.

Youth Leaders also help young people develop their confidence, teamwork skills, and self-discipline, and generally encourage them to strive to be the best they can be, as well as supervise and support other adult volunteers in their team.

Role Summary.

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Podcast Producer to support the planning and delivery of the Firmly Rooted Podcast. You will be responsible for planning and booking studio recording sessions, managing post production editing, and working closely with the host and other team members to make this the no #1 podcast for Muslim university students. 

Key tasks

• Brainstorming, contacting and liaising with guests to appear on the podcast

• Booking and preparing the recording studio for filming sessions

• Recording the podcast in the studio alongside the guest and host

• Cooperating with the host to plan the structure and topics covered in each episode

• Coordinating research and brainstorming sessions to identify potential guests and topics

• Collaborating with data analyst and design team to test and produce attention-grabbing thumbnails and titles

• Uploading the podcast to our video and audio platforms

What we’re looking for

• Passion for Islamic education and the development of young Muslims.

• Some experience or training in video or podcast production.

• Ability to travel to locations across the UK (Manchester and London) for recording sessions.

• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.

Support EcoCounts management with administrative tasks, keeping accurate records, and helping smooth operations. 

This is a hybrid role and you will need to attend in person every now and again, so we are looking for someone local to our area in N. London. 

We are looking for someone who has worked in a small, busy office for at least 3 years, preferably at a senior level.

• Picking up non-time critical, general tasks from meetings or on-going workstreams

Job Title: EPAfrica – Project Associate (PA)
Location: Kakamega, Kenya
Duration: Approximately 1st July – 13th September 2026, with limited flexibility on start and finish dates.
Start Date: UK-based training and preparation begins in June, with travel to Kenya for final pre-summer preparation in late June.

Compensation: Non-salaried placement.

About EPAfrica
Education Partnerships Africa (EPAfrica) is a volunteer-led organisation with a mission to improve secondary education in East Africa and create opportunities for young people. EPAfrica partners directly with schools to support their self-driven growth through establishing a strong resource base and implementing holistic development programs. The organisation is dedicated to making a sustainable impact by investing in both infrastructure and the long-term capabilities of partner schools. 

Role Description
This is a volunteer placement opportunity involving hybrid training in the UK and then 10 weeks in Western Kenya over the summer of 2026. We're mainly considering applications from UK-based university students and recent graduates, however we are happy to hear from anyone who believes they can make meaningful impact and contributions. This includes apprentices, early careers or even those in the later part of their career. 

Who we are looking for

• A passion for education development or sustainable non-profit work 
• An interest in working in an international context, learning through cross-cultural communication

What you'll do
Project Associates are not teachers or builders. Working with an EPAfrica partner school in teams of two or three, Project Associates will have autonomy to collaborate with key stakeholders to tailor, facilitate and project manage EPAfrica's investments. Project Associates will be responsible for ensuring investments suit individual school needs and yield sustainable results beyond the duration of our direct collaboration.
Programmes begin with Project Associates engaging all school stakeholders to identify the best available options for long-term improvement of students’ career opportunities, welfare and health.
Project Associates then co-ordinate the delivery of identified opportunities, in continued partnership with school management. Investments come in the form of cash in educational resources and time in development of initiatives.

The Commitment
The Project Associate placement runs for a total of ten weeks in Kenya, between late June and early September. There is an orientation week, eight weeks working directly with your school, and a midway break week.

With comprehensive support and training; you'll fundraise £900 (all of which goes towards your investments in the school you work with) plus ~£1,600 for essential personal expenses (flights, in-country expenses, health insurance etc.).

• Marketing Support - Provide guidance and resources to partners for marketing Roots workshops effectively, including sharing marketing collateral and leading growth initiatives.

• Performance Monitoring - Monitor the marketing efforts of partner organisations, track key performance metrics, and provide feedback and recommendations for improvement.

• Communication Liaison - Serve as the primary point of contact through social media between our organisation and partner organisations, facilitating clear and consistent communication channels.

• Training and Onboarding - Conduct training sessions and onboarding for new partner organisations to familiarise them with our brand guidelines, marketing strategies, and communication protocols.

• Collaboration - Coordinate cross-functional efforts with internal teams, such as marketing, design, and external partnerships, to ensure alignment with partnership goals.

Role Summary.

As a QA Reviewer at Roots Academy, you'll work closely with Regional Leads and the QA team to help maintain and raise the quality of teaching across our programmes. Your role is to support our instructors by regularly observing lessons, offering constructive feedback, and encouraging their continued growth and development.

Your input will help ensure that students benefit from lessons that are clear, engaging, and rooted in sound educational practice.

Key tasks

· Observe lessons via site visits or submitted video recordings throughout the semester.

· Use standardised forms to assess lesson quality and highlight key strengths and areas that could be improved.

· Offer honest and practical feedback, using real examples to guide instructors toward better practice.

· Work alongside Regional Leads to deliver feedback at set points in the semester and support instructor development conversations.

· Attend feedback meetings and take notes to track progress and follow-up actions.

· Recommend helpful activities for instructors, such as shadowing experienced colleagues, team teaching, or reviewing their own lessons.

· Keep track of instructors needing additional support by scheduling follow-up visits or reviewing new lesson recordings.

· Make sure feedback is received, understood, and followed up with clear next steps.

· Raise any serious concerns or ongoing issues with the Regional Lead or relevant team members.

What we’re looking for

· Background in teaching, mentoring, or classroom observation.

· A supportive but honest approach to giving feedback.

· Good understanding of what makes a lesson effective and engaging.

· Confident communicator with good organisation skills.

· Able to work both independently and as part of a wider team.
