About us: GT Scholars is a charitable social enterprise that tackles educational inequality by giving ambitious young people the support, skills and strategies they need to achieve aspirations. We run a wide range of programmes that help young people achieve their academic and career aspirations, particularly those from less-privileged backgrounds. 

What makes us different? We run tutoring, mentoring & career insight programmes that help our scholars, aged 11-18, discover their strengths, develop their mindsets and design their own futures.

There are many charitable organisations and social enterprises offering programmes to improve the life chances of young people. 

However, our programmes use a unique 3:1 model which means that we’re able to sustainably use our profits to provide additional places on our programmes, to young people from low income homes.

Our mission is to empower and develop the next generation of leaders and change-makers and we’re looking for volunteer tutors that are passionate about making a difference in young people’s lives!

If you are an undergraduate or graduate, you could make a difference by joining us as a volunteer tutor. As a volunteer tutor, you’ll need to:

• Have a passion for helping children and young people

• Provide online one-to-one tutoring support for 1 hour week

• Build pupil confidence in English.

• Have strong subject knowledge (confident enough to tutor up to GCSE)

• Work collaboratively with other tutors and mentors

• Have a minimum of an undergraduate degree or be working towards this

At CPRE, we’re passionate about making the countryside a better place for everyone to enjoy. This flexible, micro-volunteering role is a great way to stand up for the countryside if you don’t have much time to spare! You’ll take quick and easy online actions to support our campaigns from home (or wherever you have internet access!) at a time that suits you.

We are looking to recruit a Communications Volunteer for the Medway and Swale Group. As our Communications Volunteer you’ll make sure people know they have a local MS Society group to turn to.

In this role you’ll be able to develop your writing skills, and gain an experience of communicating across a range of digital channels. 

Time commitment

We estimate this role will need around 2 hours a week. Our roles are flexible and aim to fit around you. Time commitments for this role may vary depending on your activities. This is an ongoing role.

This is a great opportunity to gain experience within a large charity and develop your existing skills and learn new ones. We need you to get involved and help make positive changes to the lives of people affected by MS.

About you

You’ll have an interest in the MS Society and the work that we do, as well as the enthusiasm to represent both us and our values locally. Information and Advice Service: The Information and Advice service for older people provides a free, confidential, and independent service for anyone aged 65+ living in the borough of Bromley and 50 + plus in Greenwich. Our advisers provide general advice on a range of subjects: employment rights, welfare benefits, housing, consumer rights and adult social care.

Role Summary: Supporting and providing information to clients across a wide range of enquiry areas including welfare benefits, housing, Social Care, relationships, and consumer issues.

What will I be involved in?

• Identify and research information and services to signpost that are relevant to the client’s situation, drawing on information resources, agencies, and other sources of information.

• Enjoys talking and helping our clients, 65+ living in Bromley and 50 + in Greenwich from a wide range of backgrounds.
• Good communication skills and confident at speaking to clients on the telephone
• Able to prioritise tasks with good time management skills.
• A commitment to ensuring that customers are provided with accurate relevant information and support. Interested in finding out more about social welfare law advice e.g. housing and welfare benefits.
• Be a good listener and have empathy with older people, being approachable and welcoming.
• Demonstrate a non-judgmental approach. The listener may personally disagree with the client’s opinions or actions but attempts to understand the client’s point of view and shows that they still value the client.
• Being able to maintain client confidentiality, understand the importance of keeping within the parameters of the role and have a good understanding of GDPR and Data Protection.

Other information: Prospective volunteers will complete a recruitment process and be required to provide details of two references and agree to submit details for and undertake an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services (DBS) check. All our volunteer roles are 18+, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. Age UK Bromley & Greenwich will reimburse all expenditure reasonably incurred. Receipts to be provided with expenditure claims.

REMIX is a dynamic new charity start-up on a mission to "remix young lives" from disadvantaged backgrounds across London. We aim to guide, mentor, and inspire young people through positive role modelling, comprehensive personal development, and vital employability skills. We're currently in our crucial set-up phase, and establishing efficient administrative systems is key to our successful launch and future impact.

We are seeking a dedicated Volunteer Administrator and Service Support to help us set up and manage our core administrative processes remotely. This is a vital opportunity to apply your expertise to a meaningful social cause, providing the organisational support that will enable REMIX to launch programmes and reach young people who need our support.

Who We're Looking For

We need an experienced, detail-oriented, and proactive individual with exceptional administrative and communication abilities. You'll likely possess:

• Proven Administrative Experience: Strong background in office administration, virtual assistance, or executive support.

• Exceptional Organisational Skills: Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to set up efficient filing systems (digital), manage schedules, and track tasks.

• Excellent English Skills: A very high level of proficiency in spoken, written, and reading English, crucial for drafting correspondence and taking accurate minutes.

• Strong People Skills: Ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and warmly with Trustees, other volunteers, and external contacts.

• Proactive Mindset: A self-starter who can anticipate needs, identify areas for improvement, and take initiative.

• Computer Literacy: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or Google Workspace, and comfortable with online communication tools (e.g., video conferencing platforms).

• Presentation Skills: While not a primary focus, an understanding of clear presentation and document formatting is beneficial for creating professional outputs.

• Remote Work Capability: Reliable internet access, a suitable home office setup, and the discipline to work effectively independently.

• Passion for Social Change: A genuine commitment to REMIX's mission and empowering young people.

Your Role as Administrator and Service Support (Remote)

In this critical set-up phase, you will be instrumental in:

• Setting Up Admin Systems: Helping to establish efficient digital filing systems, contact databases, and communication protocols.

• Meeting Support: Attending virtual meetings (e.g., Board meetings) to accurately write and type up clear, concise minutes.

• Correspondence Management: Drafting and managing emails and other written communications, ensuring professional and timely responses.

• Document Management: Organising and maintaining digital files, policies, and other important charity documents.

• General Administrative Duties: Providing ongoing administrative support as needed to ensure the smooth running of the charity's initial operations.

• Process Improvement: Identifying and suggesting improvements to administrative workflows to enhance efficiency.
