About the Advisory Panel
The Advisory Panel is a meeting of the four Council’s committees (Companies, Education, Registration, and Standards) in plenary session. They are established by statute for the purpose of giving advice and assistance to Council (whether or not in response to a request from them) on:

• matters relating to business registrants other than matters required by the Opticians Act to be referred to the Investigation Committee, the Registration Appeals, Committee or the Fitness to Practise Committee; 

• matters relating to optical training, education, and assessment; 

• matters relating to registration, other than matters required by the Opticians Act to be considered by the Registration Appeals Committee; and 

• matters relating to the standards of conduct and performance expected of registrants or those seeking admission to the register. 

Time Commitment and Remuneration 

This role is part time with a commitment of approximately 2-3 days per year, including time spent preparing for meetings.  Meetings will usually take place via MS Teams but may on occasion be held at the GOC Offices in London or other suitable venues.

A daily fee of £319 will be paid. This is in line with our member fees policy and member fee schedule.  This is taxable and subject to Class 1 National Insurance (NI) contributions. It is not pensionable.

Members can claim expenses for travel and subsistence costs incurred on Council business as set out in our expenses policy.

The role will provide thorough financial planning, excellent management information and robust partnering and challenge to budget holders.

The Finance Business Partner – Programmes will also collaborate with hub representatives and member organisations, steering hubs to develop sustainable financial models, and guiding programme hosts to manage donor funds effectively, ensuring compliance while building local financial capacity and autonomy.

About Strength & Stem

Strength & Stem is a charity and social enterprise that uses floristry to empower female modern slavery survivors. We want to see female survivors of modern slavery and human trafficking restored from their trauma, empowered for the future, and able to sustain a good quality of life. We achieve our vision by offering an evidence-based, holistic programme. It incorporates tailored skills training (including vocational floristry, prevocational and wellbeing skills training), work experience, mentorship, and a supportive community. Role summary

The Programme Coordinator plays a key operational role at the heart of Strength & Stem, ensuring the smooth delivery of our programmes and events. This includes coordinating a series of 12 weekly floristry and skills workshops, supporting the mentoring scheme, and organising independent events such as our annual graduation celebration, alumni gatherings and ad-hoc floristry workshops.

The role combines logistics, participant engagement, monitoring and evaluation, and communications across all areas of delivery. It is varied and dynamic — balancing hands-on support during programme delivery with significant behind-the-scenes coordination, administration and reporting.

About the Programme

The Schools Triathlon is a fun, mass participation sporting event for 7–13 year olds. Its mission? To get more young people moving, having fun, and discovering the power of fundraising. In 2025, over 10,000 young people took part in 12 events, raising an incredible £1.5 million for Restless Development and local charities. Since it began, the Schools Triathlon has raised over £5 million—making it our flagship fundraising event.

About the Role

This is a fantastic entry-level opportunity for anyone looking to kickstart their career in fundraising and events management. As our Assistant Fundraising Events Coordinator, you’ll play a vital role in Restless Development’s close-knit fundraising team, helping to deliver our flagship events — the Schools Triathlon.

You’ll gain hands-on experience working with a wide range of stakeholders, including our volunteer Schools Triathlon Committee, schools, pupils, parents, and event delivery partners. A big part of your role will involve delivering fun and engaging school assemblies, encouraging pupils to take part and fundraise for Restless Development.

Alongside this outward-facing work, you’ll provide essential administrative and operational support behind the scenes. This will include managing participant data in Excel, Eventrac, and Salesforce; uploading and running reports; processing donations (including cash and cheques); and ensuring our records are accurate and up to date.

You’ll also be the first point of contact for event participants and their families, providing warm, professional support through email and phone queries.

We’re looking for someone who thrives on variety, can juggle multiple tasks, and stays calm under pressure. You’ll be highly organised, detail-focused, and self-motivated, with excellent interpersonal skills and a positive, can-do attitude.

Expected travel : Travel to London for staff meetings and other areas in the UK. Evening and weekend work for which time off in lieu will be given. Expenses for travel and work outside working hours will be given according to our policy..

Key Responsibilities:

Systems and processes (30%) 

• Manage the assembly tracker to ensure it is kept up to date, with relevant members of the team notified when new assemblies are booked in
• Maintain accurate records across our registration platform (Eventrac), our CRM system (Salesforce) and Excel, including registrations, fundraising data, and supporter information.
• Monitor and track fundraising progress for over 11,000 participants, encouraging and supporting them to reach their goals.
• Manage JustGiving pages, ensuring all fundraising activity is accurately logged.
• Liaise with Finance to process donations (online, offline, and cheques), allocate income correctly, and thank supporters promptly.
• Support with the merchandise and fulfillment process 
• Occasional website updates.

Fundraising and relationship management (30%)

• Be the first point of contact for schools, parents, and participants via the Schools Triathlon inbox.
• Book and coordinate school assemblies, and deliver assemblies or fundraising workshops.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with schools, pupils, and parents, thanking and supporting them throughout their fundraising journey.
• Provide admin support to the Restless Development US Board, including coordinating quarterly meetings.
• Attend meetings with third party suppliers and schools when necessary
• Support on wider charity initiatives as and when needed

Event management and Communications (30%) 

• Support the planning and delivery of two Schools Triathlon events, including site visits, logistics, and on-the-day support.
• Coordinate event communications, including assembly slides, parent invites, and regular registration reports.
• Work collaboratively with the Schools Triathlon team to ensure smooth delivery of all events.

Others (10%) 

• Support the Senior Fundraising Manager with developing an individual giving process.
• Attend Schools Triathlon events (April–June) and occasional evening/weekend work for which Time Off In Lieu (TOIL) will be provided.
• Regular travel to schools is required, so access to a reliable vehicle is essential (travel costs will be reimbursed).
• Carry out any other duties as required to support the fundraising team.

Desirables

• Some experience (paid or voluntary) in fundraising, events, or community activities.
• An interest in international development, the charity sector, or community engagement.
• Experience helping to organise events or projects, either in work, study, or volunteering.
• Familiarity with using a database or CRM system (training can be given).
• Confidence in speaking to groups, or a willingness to develop public speaking skills.

The Organisation

Action on Disability (AoD), founded in 1979, is one of London’s leading Disabled People’s Organisations. AoD’s Employment Service

The Action on Disability Employment Service is setting the agenda for disability employment across London with great results. We have carved out a role, and reputation, for setting up and delivering supported internships for people with learning disabilities. We provide management, job coaching and employer engagement for over 50 young people with learning disabilities each year across our 6 internship sites.

We are looking to recruit a number of job coaches to support interns and graduates of these programs in their jobs.

Background

Action on Disability is the supported employment service partner on a number of supported internships for young people with learning disabilities around West and South London. They are looking to recruit a number of job coaches to support interns and graduates of these programs in their jobs.

The Post

The purpose of the job is to provide coaching, support and guidance to young people with learning disabilities (17+) within their workplaces. You will support interns/graduates to become independent in their roles and provide the necessary coaching, training and encouragement to enable them to succeed. You will work closely with the employer to ensure they are supported and can confidently manage and train their intern/employee once your support has been withdrawn.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• To carry out a detailed job analysis of potential jobs / work placements
• To carry out detailed job matching of service users and jobs
• To comprehensively learn jobs across different sectors – not restricted to but potentially including – Catering, Customer Service, Administration, IT and Retail
• To implement training/coaching plans which will enable the candidates to fulfil their roles to employer standards
• To conduct regular reviews to ensure candidates are progressing within their roles and to identify and meet new support needs
• To build up natural support within employers and taper off one 1:1 job coaching over time
• To negotiate and implement disability-related reasonable adjustments on an individual basis
• To identify client’s skills, strengths, interests and aspirations to inform an ongoing vocational profile
• To liaise with managers to discuss progress and respond to issues

The Opportunity

Be part of a national team improving how services respond to domestic abuse.

As our Senior Trainer, you will lead the delivery and continuous improvement of our training offer, so more professionals have the confidence and skills to respond well to domestic abuse.

You will design and deliver engaging training online and in person, coordinate rotas and resources, uphold quality, and use feedback to keep content relevant and impactful. You will also line manage two Training Coordinators, nurture key client relationships, and support proposals and bookings that grow our reach and repeat business.

About You

You are an established trainer with experience in the Violence Against Women and Girls sector. You can design and deliver dynamic, inclusive sessions for mixed audiences, both online and in person, with strong feedback and repeat bookings to show for it.

You bring solid understanding of housing and health including safeguarding and local pathways, and you are confident running day to day operations, scheduling and capacity planning.

You have experience line managing people and setting clear standards through observation, coaching and quality assurance. You are comfortable scoping client needs, shaping simple SLAs and turning data and feedback into clear KPIs and reports.

You are trauma informed, anti-racist, collaborative and calm under pressure, with strong communication and sound judgement. A relevant training qualification such as PTLLS or equivalent is desirable.

Whilst this is a remote based job, you will need to be located within London/Home Counties area and be able to travel when required.

For 40 years, NEF has turned big ideas, rigorous research and community power into real-world change. At this critical moment in politics, we’re looking for a talented researcher to join our team.

The late Lord Kerslake was a lifelong advocate for social justice and worked tirelessly in his career and in retirement to promote access to secure, affordable housing for all. At the time of his untimely passing he was Chair of the New Economics Foundation (NEF), the Peabody Trust and the Kerslake Commission on Homelessness and Rough Sleeping hosted by St Mungo’s. These three organisations have come together to honour Bob by creating a Kerslake Fellowship to work on improving outcomes in housing and homelessness, and especially for social housing.

Employed at NEF for a two-year contract initially, this role will help develop policy and practice capable of delivering big shifts in housing policy that will result in genuinely affordable, high quality and secure homes for all. The Kerslake Fellow will produce high-quality research that will help build the evidence base in social housing and homelessness, generate recommendations for actions that will lead to better outcomes, and build relationships with key stakeholders that will help deliver policy change.

We’re looking for someone with a relevant degree (or equivalent experience), a solid understanding of the housing sector and the challenges and opportunities it faces. At least three to five years’ experience in planning, developing and managing multi-stakeholder projects and/​or campaigns. Just as important is the ability to ability to deal with people at all levels, internally and externally, demonstrable organisational and administrative skill and a commitment to building the new, environmentally sustainable economy with redistribution of power and resources at its core.
