Homeless Link is the national membership charity for frontline homeless agencies and the wider housing with health, care and support sector in England. We are working in partnership with The Honeypot Children’s Charity, a UK charity who are looking for an experienced Head of Lottery and Statutory Grants to research, identify and deliver six figure level income through National Lottery and Statutory funders.

With headquarters in London, and three respite houses situated in the South of England, Wales and Scotland, the Honeypot continuously supports young carers aged 5 to 12 years old, who perform a surrogate adult role as a carer for a loved one, often single-handedly, and whose wellbeing is at significant risk, leading to anxiety, isolation, poor confidence, and low self-esteem.

This newly created role the Head of Lottery and Statutory Grants will lead and develop a new income stream for the Charity, researching and developing a sustainable and key pipeline of six figure income through National Lottery and Statutory funders.

The successful candidate will:

• Demonstrate a proven track record of succeeding six figure level gifts, with direct experience of researching the National Lotteries and statutory landscapes to explore opportunities to develop six figure plus proposals for Statutory funders, or equivalent,
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills to inspire through compelling storytelling and deliver exceptional bid evaluation and proposal writing abilities to produce thorough and compelling grant proposals and reports that communicate aims and impact.
• Exceptional donor stewardship skills to a six-figure portfolio of statutory donors, implementing effective donor journeys and an excellent supporter experience ensuring their continued and uplifted support.
• Experience of interpreting charitable financial accounts and preparing budgets for potential funders and for grant reports.

As Finance & Operations Administrator you will have a key role to play working closely with the trustees and Head of Fundraising & Communications to co-ordinate activities,  to ensure day to day operations in the UK run smoothly.  

The role as advertised covers a broad range of activities. However there will be peaks and troughs of workload.

-  A qualified accountant or bookkeeper with experience of Xero ideal (training can be provided).

-  Support the Chair of Governance ensuring Trustee and Staff Handbooks (policies and protocols), risk register, are uptodate and accessible via the website portal. Lead the administration process for the recruitment of trustees and staff, including the preparation of candidate packs, advertising, induction. Oversight of the EFA Partnership Agreements.

- Support the Chair of Educaton re liaison with relevant external auditors (safeguarding, health and safety, risk). Linking with Moroccan partners to agree on timing and arrangements for audit visits. Ensuring reports are available to trustees as agreed.

Summary of role 

Reporting to the Head of Communications and Engagement, this role will provide critical support during a busy period, until the end of 2024.

Job description 

Overall purpose of role 

Key responsibilities include: 

1. Broad support to the Communications and Engagement team, including: 

• Helping draft content for the Alliance newsletter, website and social media. 

• Supporting delivery of online webinars and roundtables, managing registrations and following up on enquiries. 

• Completing due diligence checks on new membership applications. 

• Supporting the update of key membership information and presentations. 

• Supporting delivery of a participation roundtable of our members.

• Supporting delivery of a youth campaign, providing project support and liaison with external stakeholders.

2. Event coordination tasks, including supporting the successful delivery of our 2024 Global Summit: 

• Maintaining events project plans and liaising across teams to ensure tasks, activities and deliverables are captured, up-to-date and accurate. 

• Collating content including delegate information packs, programme content and other collateral, liaising across the team and with Alliance members and external suppliers. 

• Tracking and monitoring enquiries about the Summit and coordinating responses. 

• Ensuring our CRM is kept up to date with accurate contact details and is GDPR compliant. 

• Supporting in setting up of and managing event registration including responding to registration queries, processing registrations, monitor registrations and escalate queries as necessary.

The role will also provide occasional administrative support to the Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer (~10% of the role’s time). This will include supporting diary management, booking travel, taking meeting notes, collating papers and briefs, and assisting with general administrative support on tasks, as required.

If time allows, the role may also be required to support other team projects across the Alliance Secretariat.

About the role 

Our next CEO will be passionate about Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and have an open and transparent approach to leadership. We are seeking someone who is committed to empowering both our fantastic staff team and student leaders and who is able build on our collaborative partnership with the University.

The next CEO must be willing and able to embrace and grow a value-led, high performing organisational culture which is focused on meeting students’ needs. We’re looking for a leader who is inspiring, supportive, authentic and an outstanding communicator. This role will require an innovative mindset, helping us to try new and creative ways of engaging with and developing trust between our students and the University. You’ll need to be someone who can empower and support our newly elected student Officers to grow and achieve in their roles.

The incoming CEO will be responsible for leading us through our exciting new strategy centered around community, employability and collaborative change. This will focus on democracy and student representation.

An ability to align ways of working with strategic outcomes, whilst finding creative ways of making them more equitable and inclusive is a high priority, as is an understanding of good charity governance, financial acumen and organisational development.

Affiliate Fundraising Training Consultant (Part-Time)

Summary

The Wikimedia Foundation is the non-profit organization that operates Wikipedia – one of the most popular websites in the world, viewed 15 billion times every month. It is the only non-profit in the top 10 most visited global websites, supported by a community of millions of individual donors around the world.  Alongside the Wikimedia Foundation, our movement is composed of affiliate organizations, independent organizations established to support volunteers in a specific language, region or topic. Affiliates are funded by the Wikimedia Foundation, and some in independent fundraising to support their activities.

The Wikimedia Foundation seeks a Fundraising Training Consultant to work with Wikimedia affiliates to grow and develop their fundraising processes and capacity. In this one-year, 30 hour/week contract role (with potential option for renewal) you will be responsible for working with affiliates to understand their fundraising needs and challenges, and to provide them strategic guidance and support as they put in place necessary structures and processes that will aid their fundraising efforts. This role will focus on building the capacity of affiliates to raise funds from a variety of new-to-the-movement donors, including government, multinational and multilateral funding opportunities, and local high networth individuals, as well as advising on systems and structures (e.g. Board composition) for strategic fundraising.

With affiliates located around the globe, the person in this role will need to be skilled in relationship management and cross-cultural communication. This role involves close collaboration with affiliate fundraisers and leadership.  You will report to the Major Gifts Stewardship Manager (Fundraising) and work closely with the Vice President of Community Growth. This is a one-year contract and remote role that offers flexible scheduling with a commitment of 30 hours per week.

As a result of your efforts, our affiliate partners will be better equipped to engage in independent fundraising.

You are responsible for:

• Training: Provide learning opportunities for affiliate staff to build their skills around mid-level and major gift fundraising.
• Coaching and Advising: Advise on developing strategies to maximize fundraising potential and impact, including grant writing, event fundraising, other fundraising methods and donor stewardship.
• Strategic Support: Provide strategic advice to individual affiliates on board development.  As appropriate, advise affiliates on the creation of additional fit-for-purpose systems and frameworks enable independent fundraising and foster long-term sustainability.
• Peer Sharing Facilitation: With the Lead Community Relations Specialist, organize and facilitate fundraising peer forums to encourage collaboration, sharing of best practices, and mutual support among affiliates.
• Liaising and Coordination: Act as a liaison between affiliate fundraising arms, fostering communication, collaboration, and alignment of fundraising efforts.

Skills and Experience

• Experience teaching and/or training nonprofit organizations on fundraising best practices, grant writing, and donor stewardship.
• Experience in a wide variety of fundraising techniques appropriate for non-US markets, including European government fundraising, Trusts and Foundations, Major Gifts, and Corporate Fundraising, preferably in a consulting or advisory capacity
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Familiarity with best practices around donor data security.
• Commitment to the mission and values of the Wikimedia Foundation.

• Experience working in a distributed team
• Experience working with volunteer-led non-profit organizations
• Experience collaborating with affiliate partners of larger organizations

Being a member of the energy team involves giving advice via telephone and email to reduce fuel poverty. This can include advising on energy efficiency measures and dealing with fuel debt as well as providing advice on income maximisation and checking welfare benefit entitlement.

We are looking for individuals with a strong sense of commitment and who can work flexibly for our many different energy contracts. The successful candidate will have excellent listening and questioning skills as well as the ability to use IT in the provision of advice.
