About the role

Team Leader (Mental Health) – Talking Spaces Service

Location: Birmingham

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Salary: £28,982 per annum

The Talking Space service operates from 1pm to 9pm four days a week throughout the year.

We operate one of our Talking Space services in the vibrant Jewellery Quarter, close to the city centre. Our Talking Space service provides a safe and welcoming environment for individuals aged 18+ living in Birmingham or Solihull who are experiencing emotional distress or a mental health crisis. We offer 1-to-1 appointments and drop-in support across four sites in the city (Selly Oak, Erdington, Jewellery Quarter, and Northfield). We actively listen and offer a range of referral and signposting options.

The service functions as an alternative to A&E as part of the urgent care pathway.

We now have an exciting opportunity for an empathetic and experienced leader to join our team and support the effective delivery of the Talking Space service, with a particular focus on young adults aged 18–25. You will develop engaging activities and groups that appeal to young people, helping them reach their full potential. With strong knowledge of mental wellbeing, you will work confidently within confidentiality frameworks and ensure accurate completion of all relevant documentation.

You will communicate in a style appropriate to your audience, demonstrating compassion and a non-judgmental approach toward individuals experiencing psychological distress. As Team Leader, you will provide support and supervision to the staff team, identify training needs, and complete annual appraisals. You will feel confident challenging discriminatory or disrespectful behaviour while maintaining high standards and ensuring the team upholds the same level of quality.

You may occasionally be required to work across all Talking Space sites.

We are also exploring opportunities to extend our service to support young people aged 16–18 soon.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role and a strong understanding of safeguarding practices, along with a positive attitude toward individuals experiencing mental health difficulties. You will have experience working with confidential, sensitive information in line with GDPR principles. 

A confident communicator, you will feel comfortable liaising with internal and external stakeholders and building strong relationships within the community.

You will be IT literate and able to ensure all documentation is accurately recorded on our bespoke systems. You will have proven experience in leading a team and supporting individuals to develop within their roles. Flexibility is essential, as the role requires working shift patterns—including evenings and weekends, within the service’s opening hours.

Charity Core Purposes: ‘The promotion of good health and wellbeing by assisting in the relief of symptoms and the improvement of the quality of life by providing supportive services to those who have been diagnosed with or affected by cancer and long-term conditions and providing support, information and education on the benefits of receiving complementary and holistic therapies as well as to build awareness of the links between heritage and good health and wellbeing, education and research of wellbeing to the general public as a whole.

Main Purpose

To lead and manage Aurora’s vision for retail whilst creating a warm, professional, and inclusive environment for customers and volunteers. The shop plays a vital role in generating income to support Aurora’s charitable work for people living with cancer.

Reporting to the Business Operations Manager, the Retail Manager will be part of a diverse team encompassing health and wellbeing, hospitality, heritage and support services. This is not a typical charity retail role as the shop is uniquely situated within a wellbeing and heritage centre that also includes a Tearoom, Gym and Community support facilities.

This is an exciting opportunity to shape a truly community-focused retail space, where creativity and innovation can be used to make the most of this historic and distinctive setting.

The Retail Manager will play a key role in the retail transformation, setting up the new shop, recruiting the team, training and establishing best practice and standards; bringing the retail vision to life.

Hours: 30 hours per week between the hours of 8am and 7pm Mon-Sun (flexible – hours to be agreed with successful candidate)

About Pagham Harbour

Pagham Harbour is a glorious and peaceful nature reserve, one of the few undeveloped stretches of the Sussex coast. Watch Black-tailed Godwits and Little Egrets by day, then linger when skies are clear for an amazing sunset.

One of the highlights of summer at Pagham is our tern colony on Tern Island. The sound of chattering terns drifts across the languid waters mingled with the harsher squawks of the Black-headed Gulls. Common, Sandwich and Little Terns all nest on the island and it is a delight to watch these elegant seabirds fishing in the harbour, hovering briefly before diving into the water for small fish.

About the Role

As a Reserve based Seasonal Fundraiser at Pagham Harbour, you’ll work alongside friendly staff and volunteers to welcome visitors, share the importance of this extraordinary site, and inspire them to support the RSPB’s vital conservation efforts.

We are seeking a Maintenance and Gardening Assistant to join our dedicated team at Lister House care home in Ripon, North Yorkshire.

Help us provide and maintain a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for our residents, staff, and visitors. In this hands-on role, you’ll take pride in maintaining our building and grounds to the highest standards.

This is a permanent, full-time, role working 35 hours per week across 5 days out of 7, including weekends and bank holidays.

Key responsibilities:

- Carry out general maintenance and repairs. Perform minor building, plumbing, electrical, carpentry and decorating tasks.
