Team background
The Human Resources team sits within the Operations Directorate, led by the Chief Operating Officer (COO). This role reports directly to the Head of People & Culture, who is a member of the Senior Management Team (SMT) and ensures that people, culture, and inclusion are embedded at the heart of the charity’s strategic and operational priorities.
The Human Resources team plays a crucial role in supporting the charity’s mission, ensuring that we attract, develop, and retain talented and committed staff, foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture, and maintain compliance with employment law and best practice.
Job purpose
This role partners closely with the Head of People & Culture, and senior stakeholders to lead the transformation of Toynbee Hall’s people strategy and implement its EDI strategy. It focuses on championing values-based leadership, shaping organisational culture, and embedding trauma-informed HR practices to ensure the workforce is supported, empowered, and engaged.
Through strategic influence and partnership, this role drives initiatives that promote inclusivity, high performance, and wellbeing across the organisation, ensuring all people and culture activities are fully aligned with Toynbee Hall’s mission and organisational goals
Scope of role
The People & Culture Partner will provide expert support across the full employee lifecycle from attraction and recruitment, to onboarding, development, performance management, and exit. This role will support senior leaders in driving values-based leadership, building, HR capability, and fostering a culture of performance, inclusion, and wellbeing.
In addition, the People & Culture Partner will play a key role in workforce planning, leveraging data and insights to inform decision-making, and ensuring that HR processes are effective, compliant, and centred on the needs and experiences of people.
The key focus for this role will be to support all employee relations case load with the guidance of the Head of People & Culture.

Essential Criteria:
- CIPD Level 5 minimum.
- Proven track record in HR/People roles, including managing complex employee relations cases (grievance, disciplinary, absence and performance management) providing guidance to managers and supporting individuals through processes.
- Experience managing payroll processes, either directly or through outsourced providers, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proven experience leading end-to-end recruitment, including role scoping, advertising, shortlisting, interviewing, and selection.
- Experience designing and delivering onboarding and induction programmes that support new staff to integrate effectively and feel engaged from the outset.
- Experience of drafting HR policies and procedures and conducting gap analysis on HR systems.
- Experience supporting managers and advising through consultation processes such as TUPE and/or redundancy.
- Strong organisational, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
- Understanding of trauma-informed approaches and a commitment to developing organisational culture to ensure inclusion and diversity.
- Experience working in a unionised environment and demonstrate a high level of discretion and confidentiality.
- Experience working in a similar role within the charity or non-profit sector is preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including active listening, with the ability to determine business goals and suggest ways to achieve them through HR initiatives.

As the Supporter Engagement & Legacy Manager you will play a key role as we seek to reignite our legacy marketing programme and grow overall individual giving income to help ensure long-term support for those facing financial difficulty. You will be responsible for the project management and implementation of all supporter engagement activity, acquisition, and legacy marketing activities, ensuring all activity is optimised and campaigns include enhanced digital and social media content.
Reporting to the Co-Heads of Supporter Engagement and managing the Supporter Engagement Officer, you will develop a multi-year plan to rebuild legacy income and a pipeline of legacy supporters, including re-engaging the EFH care home staff and major donors.
You will be responsible for supporting the strategic direction, operational plans and effective management of Turn2us’s giving programmes from individuals including appeals, regular giving and legacies, maximising net income from new and existing income streams.
The successful candidate will have experience of managing direct marketing campaigns in a charity environment as well as proven ability to manage successful legacy marketing campaigns. They will have significant experience stewarding individuals and legacy supporters and be adept at communicating the impact of donations, as well as having line management experience. The ability to make a strong case for supporting Turn2us’ key areas of work is crucial, as is an aptitude for proactively increasing acquisition and retention rates.
The post holder will also be a self-starter who is comfortable building new strategies from a relatively small pool of supporters and is experienced testing different tactics to establish the best practice for Turn2us.

The Role
As Chief Financial Officer, you will lead the financial strategy and operations of LTM, ensuring robust financial management, governance, and performance. This is a pivotal role on the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), reporting directly to the Director and attending all Board meetings. You will also deputise for the Director when required.
This role goes beyond traditional finance leadership. You will be a moderniser—driving transformation, leading negotiations, overseeing broader business support functions, and contribute to LTM50, including capital programme oversight. You will be the face of financial and business systems at LTM, helping to deliver a future-fit museum aligned with our strategic vision.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and management of LTM’s overall budget, ensuring financial sustainability across short, medium, and long-term goals
- Oversee all aspects of financial control, governance, reporting, and compliance with statutory, charity, and TfL requirements
- Deliver timely and accurate statutory accounts, budgets, forecasts, and management reports
- Lead business support functions and liaise with TfL departments including HR, Procurement, Reward, Tech and Data and Finance
- Provide strategic financial advice to the Board of Trustees, SLT, and wider teams
- Represent LTM in financial negotiations with external partners and suppliers
- Champion a high-performing, inclusive finance team—setting clear goals, recognising success, and modelling LTM’s values
- Collaborate closely with TfL Finance to ensure alignment and efficiency
- Ensure all financial and legal obligations are met and policies are up to date and followed
The successful candidate will be a fully qualified accountant with a proven track record in senior finance leadership roles within complex organisations, and will be able to demonstrate:
- Experience at Board level and ability to work in collaboration with Trustees and colleagues;
- Understanding and experience of strategic risk management, finance audit and internal controls;
- Broad operational knowledge including digital transformation, estates, and HR;
- Experience navigating challenging financial climates and driving efficiencies.
