Main Tasks and Responsibilities
Casework and Advice
- Provide one-to-one support, advice, and advocacy for clients on immigration, asylum, and welfare-related matters.
- Ensure casework is conducted professionally, accurately recorded, and aligned with regulatory requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality in all interactions and ensure clients' needs are met in a sensitive and satisfactory manner.
- Support and mentor volunteers where required.
- Stay up to date with legal and policy changes relevant to the sector.
Teamwork and Collaboration
- Work closely with senior colleagues to drive efficiency and improve service delivery.
- Represent RMC at external meetings and events when required.

Person Specification
Essential Criteria

Terms and conditions of employment
The following conditions of service will apply:
Salary
£23,500 – £25,00 (dependent on experience)
Location
Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Walsall or Dudley
Pension
RMC will contribute 3% of gross basic salary
Holidays
21 days per year plus public holidays pro rata for part-time post. Holiday entitlement increases to 24 days after 2 years and 29 days after 5 years
Hours of Work
35 hours per week (excluding lunch breaks). Some evening and weekend work may be required for which time off in lieu should be claimed
Probation
This post will have a probationary period of 6 months

One month’s notice of termination of employment on either side.

Flexibility
In order to deliver the stated aims of this post, a degree of flexibility is needed and the post holder may be required to perform work not specifically referred to above. About the role:
The position is based at our Shoreham Office working 15 hours per week - Thursday and Friday 9am to 5pm - Hybrid working meaning 1 day office based and 1 day home based.

About the role:
This role is hybrid between Bridewell Police Station and home (and therefore requires an appropriately confidential home space in which to work), with travel around the locality to meet with service users.
As a Senior IDVA you will:
- Identify and assess the risks and needs of male domestic abuse victims. Assist them in accessing services to keep them and their family safe, and develop individual safety plans to meet client's needs.
- Support the empowerment of clients, assisting them in recognising the features and dynamics of domestic abuse.
- Participate fully in the MARAC framework: refer clients to, attend and participate in meetings by being the voice of the client and follow up actions agreed, keeping the client's safety at the forefront.
- Take a lead in setting an example of good working practices and offer mentoring to colleagues. Be the initial contact for colleagues to provide advice and guidance on their casework.
- Provide information and advocacy to enable service users to navigate and understand the criminal justice process and ensure their rights are upheld in accordance with the Victims Code of Practice.
- Provide effective line management of staff to ensure performance targets and agreed outcomes are met by the service. Monitor and oversee quality of service provision provided by the team, and identify learning and development opportunities. Support performance auditing, interpret data for commissioners and report on this.
- Maintain accurate and confidential case management records and contribute to monitoring the service.
You will need:
- A SafeLives (or equivalent) IDVA qualification.
- Evidence of management capability.
- An ability to work independently and as part of a team, sharing, coaching and influencing others.
- An understanding of the principles of risk assessment, safety planning and risk management.
- Experience of working within a multi-agency and legislative framework.
- Experience of managing a complex caseload, and be able to prioritise work and deal with competing demands.
- The ability to use IT applications competently including, Microsoft Word, Excel etc. and Case Management systems in order to keep accurate records and undertake performance monitoring.

Overall purpose of the role
The Senior Communications Manager is responsible for delivering exceptional communications to enhance Orbis UK's profile in both the UK and the Middle East. The position is responsible for implementing strategic plans for UK and Middle East audiences, while supporting the Media and PR Manager in boosting Orbis UK's brand presence. This role encompasses communications planning, media relations, stakeholder management, reputation management, copywriting, and at times, event coordination. It requires strong relationship-building skills and the ability to manage projects across different teams and countries. The role is responsible for three key areas of work:
i) Overseeing the delivery of the media and PR strategy to increase brand awareness of Orbis within the UK and the Middle East through pitching and placement of high-quality media coverage, proactive PR initiatives and reactive press office opportunities within a range of publications that align with our target audiences and partnerships. This will include managing the Media and PR Manager, working with key stakeholders such as the Royal Press Office and key funding and programme partners, and supporting delivery of Orbis UK integrated marketing campaigns

At a personal level you will also need to demonstrate resilience and the ability to, understand and empathise with clients from diverse range of backgrounds and disadvantaged groups living in the community, in particular barriers faced by over-indebted and financially excluded communities. As Project Support Officer you will support our Regional Manager with volunteer recruitment, documentation, and giving our volunteers a fantastic experience. Each of our Community Meal Projects is run by Project Leaders (volunteer position). You will support Project Leaders in running our Community Meals, and will give extra support to our projects as and when required.
This support could range from developing relationships with our food suppliers, researching local organisations to support with guest outreach, recruiting new Project Leaders for the Region, or attending Projects. As Schools Coordinator, you will coordinate and deliver weekly family meals at your allocated schools (2-3 evenings per week) as well as coordinate all aspects of the projects, from volunteer management to food surplus supply.
Our after-school community meals will be spaces where families of school children can gather at the end of the school day to enjoy a free nutritious meal and be among the school community. With the support of our National Schools & Franchise Manager you will manage local relationships with schools, community partners, supermarkets and volunteer recruitment channels to enable our meals to happen each week
As a can-do person and excellent communicator, you will manage the volunteers at each project ensuring they are trained, supported and on-message with FoodCycle strategy. You will have previously worked with primary school-aged children or families, in school or other setting. There will be frequent travel within Central Region (Initially focused in Birmingham/West Midlands), with evening work required. A full driving license and access to a vehicle for work purposes is essential for this rewarding role.

What is the role of the Manager?
As manager, with the support of the deputy(s), you will organise varied and fun breaks for our guests. This includes carrying out assessments for new guests, supporting the team to deliver respite care, coaching the staff team, and embedding high standards in the service. We run 20 breaks a year and wish to grow this number, around about 10 of which are led by the Activity Team Manager on site in East Sussex. During activity breaks food and your own room is provided and an additional sleep in payment for each night supporting a break is paid.
