EMPLOYER ENGAGEMENT LEAD – JOB DESCRIPTION
Twining Enterprise supports people across North & West London with mental health problems to find and sustain work, typically using the internationally recognized Individual Placement and Support (IPS) approach. A central tenet of the IPS model is employer engagement; reaching out to local employers on behalf of clients to find suitable and sustainable employment.
We are now looking to recruit a professional and self-motivated Employer Engagement Lead to develop relationships with local businesses in Barnet and Haringey. They will help encourage businesses to employ individuals with mental health challenges and educate them on how to foster a supportive working environment.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities we will shortlist you on.

· Experience in leading and/or undertaking employer engagement activities, or experience in similar roles requiring you to actively approach and engage with local employers.
· Excellent interpersonal, networking and communication skills (face to face, by telephone and in writing) and as part of a team.
· Knowledge and understanding of mental health issues. More specifically, awareness and experience of the support needs of people with mental health conditions in finding, returning to/retaining mainstream employment.
· Experience and ability in organizing and conducting employer engagement training and workshops.
· Experience of effective diary management, prioritising tasks and working to deadlines.
· Excellent computer skills including experience of using Microsoft Office packages.
· Ability to think creatively and provide excellent local partnership work.
· Willingness to travel in designated Boroughs.
· Knowledge of and commitment to relevant policies, procedures, and standards e.g. Health & Safety, Confidentiality (Data Protection), Equality & Diversity and Sustainable Development, Equality Act 2010 and employment law.
Desirable Experience and Skills
· Experience working in a mental health support setting or more generally alongside the mental health sector.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
1. Establish and maintain relationships with good local employers in Barnet and Haringey.
2. Advocate for employment opportunities for individuals with mental health issues.
3. Organise and lead training sessions and workshops for local employers on mental health support.
4. Monitor and evaluate the impact of employer engagement activities.
5. Collaborate with other stakeholders to enhance the scope and effectiveness of employer engagement.
6. Provide regular feedback on employer engagement activity undertaken, and written reports for management in line with service requirements.
7. Contribute to the development of a service that is locally responsive and supports minority/disadvantaged communities.
8. Comply with and actively promote all Twining policies and procedures including Equality and Diversity, safeguarding and data protection.
9. Receive regular supervision and training to meet individual, team and organization’s needs.
10. Perform other tasks as required by your manager.

Overall Duties of the Engagement & Activity Practitioner will include:
- Being an accessible point of contact for the children living with our carers and to our young people, keeping them up to date with the facilities and opportunities available with TACT.
- Experience in working with unaccompanied minors
- Supporting interventions and activities to ensure stable placement arrangements.
- Being able to transport children and young people to events, appointments and meetings (mileage reimbursed).
- Organising and participating in virtual and face-to-face events and occasional residential meet-ups.
- Managing all paperwork associated with events and activities.
- Willingness to work flexibly, according to deadlines and needs of our families.
- Undertaking trauma-informed direct work with children and young people.
- Liaising with our Supervising Social Worker team.

About the role
We have an exciting opportunity to join our talented team as a Dementia Adviser. You will have the rewarding experience of providing information, guidance and support to people affected by dementia in identifying their needs, to help maintain independence, improving sense of well-being, and putting them in more control of their lives.
This role will provide dementia knowledge and expertise within one of four locality Welfare Support Teams as part of the Integrated Care Across Northamptonshire. (ICAN) Ageing Well.
As a Dementia Adviser, you will:
- Be the ‘go to’ person for all that is dementia related.
- Work closely with health, adult social care and third sector colleagues assessing, signposting, and providing information and guidance to support people affected by dementia.
- Build robust working relationships and develop networking opportunities with a range of local partners and community organisations.
- Create pathways with partner organisations who work in the field of dementia, ensuring seamless, holistic consistent support and empowering individuals to make informed choices.
- Provide dementia support face-to-face, by telephone and online.
- Work closely with the Age Well team, Memory Assessment Service and Older Peoples Mental Health Team and be able to facilitate our range of face to face and virtual groups as needed.
About you
We are looking for an exceptional individual, with an understanding of memory loss, dementia and the needs of those affected with these conditions.

What we do
Our Strategy aims to enhance the effectiveness of nutrition policy and programming by improving knowledge, stimulating learning, building evidence and providing support and encouragement to practitioners and decision-makers involved in nutrition and related interventions.

Terms and Conditions
- Hours of work: We are ideally looking for a full-time candidate (37.5 hours per week), however, applications for part time hours (i.e. a minimum of 0.6FTE / 22.5 hours per week) may also be considered

Essential requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent, in Nutrition/Community Nutrition or Public Health or Medicine discipline

As a Senior Policy & Advocacy Adviser you will work in the Education Team within the Global Policy, Advocacy and Research department.
Your role will focus on advocacy on school safety and risk reduction in the education sector. - Ability to lead and work with colleagues to set a strategic vision, inspire others and securing cross-team engagement for delivery
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an excellent ability to communicate with impact and adapt style for a wide range of audiences with diverse backgrounds and at all levels
- Ability and willingness to travel at least three weeks a year

Ways of Working:
The majority of our roles can be performed remotely in the UK, but there are likely to be times when you will be required to come to your contracted office (up to 2-4 days per month or 6-8 days per quarter). This will be agreed with your Line Manager and team and is intended to be time spent on collaborating with colleagues and relationship building.
Please note: travel costs to your contracted office will be at your own expense.
