The Loan Administration Assistant will provide key financial administration support to the wider Big Issue Invest Team. You will support the Accounts Manager with the administration and monitoring of both loan and fund portfolios, ensuring accurate record-keeping and timely updates, assist with onboarding new clients and investments, including collecting and verifying KYC (Know Your Customer) documentation and supporting due diligence processes.
 
You will also provide key monitoring services such as maintaining and updating portfolio management systems, prepare routine correspondence, and respond to client queries, support the monitoring of existing investments, tracking key milestones, repayments, covenants, and impact metrics.
 
You will also work with the wider investment team, for example to assist the Investment Manager and Accounts Manager with Risk assessments and Performance assessments where required.
 
You will be a keen "numbers person" who is used to working in depth with Excel. You will have a background in a financial environment and/or a relevant degree or financial qualification. We would also consider a suitably qualified candidate who wishes to move into a social finance career. A strong understanding and history of confidentiality in a financial context is also essential.  
 
There is a strong opportunity, for the right candidate, to progress into a career in Fund Accounting or Fund Management.

About the role:

As a Housing Domestic Abuse Advocate, you will provide intervention, advocacy, and support to survivors of domestic abuse. Working within a fast-paced team, you will help empower women and ensure that the voice of survivors informs every stage of their journey towards improved safety. You will have your own caseload of survivors who hold social tenancies with local authorities or housing associations, and you will encourage them to engage with our service and ensure they have access to support. You will also co-ordinate the provision of multi-agency support which focuses on working with domestic abuse survivors to maintain their tenancies and prevent homelessness.

About You:

To be successful as the Domestic Abuse Housing Advocate you will need the below experience and skills:

You will bring solid experience of supporting women who have experienced domestic abuse in all its forms; coming from a sector with transferrable skills or possess a feminist/VAWG degree and be keen to learn and to train on the job. You will have a good understanding of violence against women and girls with a particular focus on the dynamics of domestic abuse (physical, emotional, and sexual abuse, so-called ‘honour-based violence’, forced marriage, stalking and harassment) and its impact on women, children, families, and communities. You will have proven skills and experience in conducting comprehensive assessments of needs and risk for survivors experiencing domestic abuse, including carrying out short risk management and safety planning. We will expect that you have experience in assessing the needs and safety of any children that women using the service may have and an understanding of the criminal justice system and relevant legislation with regard to legal and civil options, housing, benefits, matrimonial and children. Lastly you will bring your knowledge of safeguarding practice, procedures, and legislation.

With many skills and qualities to add to this role, if you have good IT literacy, data collection and monitoring these skills are maximised in your role. If you have experience or have been trained or are qualified in the fields related  to substance misuse, criminal jusice, law, social work or domestic abuse we would love to hear from you.

We work alongside people to help them escape poverty, build confidence, and find community.

Our principal activity is the prevention of food poverty and food insecurity by offering culturally appropriate food, fresh fruits, and

vegetables as well as dietary and religiously appropriate food which we have continued to run at our five-week sessions to local people for as long as they address the underlying cause.

We also provide a range of wraparound support, including advice services, particularly around employment and immigration through our Back2Work Team, Holiday Clubs for Children, Youth Groups, a Clothing Bank and our Spring Up Women’s group.

Main Purposes of Job and Key Tasks

We are seeking a highly organised and quick-witted Operations Officer to join our dynamic team at Spring Community Hub. The ideal candidate will have experience in operations or project management and excel at managing multiple priorities simultaneously. This role is crucial in supporting the day-to-day operations of the organisation and ensuring smooth workflows across various departments.

In addition to their primary operations duties, the Operations Officer will also play a key role in recruiting and managing volunteers, organising events, and assisting with fundraising activities. The Operations Officer will support impact, monitoring, and evaluation tasks to help demonstrate the effectiveness of our programs to funders and stakeholders.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced candidate, preferably from a project delivery or impact measurement and evaluation background.

Primary duties include:

• Administrative and Office Support: Provide daily administrative support to the Operations Manager and team, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, coordinating logistics, handling correspondence, and overseeing general office administration functions such as phones, mail distribution, supply orders, and facilities management.

• There will be some out-of-hours working occasionally for Events / Development/ Training sessions according to the needs of the business - which you will be able to arrange time off in lieu with your Line Manager.

The Role

• Deliver flexible funding targets by leading the Major Donor Programme and Supporting Trusts Portfolio, with a focus on donor stewardship and retention 

• Support the Philanthropy & Strategic Foundations team with day-to-day operations, administration and project co-ordination to ensure high-quality delivery 

• Act as the team's humanitarian response representative co-ordinating with internal teams and ensuring a speedy, and efficient notification to all donors of any emergency activations 

• Write compelling funding proposals and donor reports aligned with organisational priorities and impact goals 

• Build excellent internal relationships across the Partnerships for Impact team to enhance collaboration and collective success

• Support the team on external partnerships when needed, ensuring commitments are fulfilled while identifying opportunities for new impactful initiatives 

• Coordinate cross-functional, and donor engagement activities, share best practice and knowledge across the team, and contribute to the development of impactful communications about our work

• Where required, attend and support external meetings and events, representing Save the Children and supporting strategic objectives. 

About you 

To be successful, it is important that you have: 

• Proven experience managing donor portfolios and cultivating four-to-five-figure funding relationships 

• Demonstrable success in securing flexible income through philanthropic and trust fundraising 

• Strong skills in writing impactful proposals and donor reports tailored to funder expectations 

• Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder engagement abilities, both internally and externally 

• A highly organised and proactive approach, with the ability to manage multiple priorities across a complex portfolio 

• Proficiency in CRM tools such as Salesforce, and experience supporting cross-functional fundraising teams.

Technical Skills 

• Proven experience in providing high-quality administrative and project management support. 

• Experience delivering mass stewardship or appeal mailings and/or experience securing four-to-five figure level gifts. 

• Familiarity with CRM tools like Salesforce for partner management and data tracking. 

• Competence in financial administration and fundraising processes. 

• Ability to develop and optimise systems and tools to improve team efficiency. 

• Experience coordinating bespoke initiatives and activities in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams.

Ways of Working:

Policy Advisor – Research and Data Monitoring

Contract type: 12 months Fixed Term, 35 hours per week

Location: London, UK subject to the right to work.

UK Hybrid Working: A minimum of 40% of working time is spent face to face, either in London office, or as a result of external engagement or travel for WaterAid. WaterAid is located at Canary Wharf, London and this will be your location and contract base.

*60/40 hybrid working at WaterAid is currently defined as: 60% of an employee’s time in a location of their choice, 40% face to face, defined as in the London office, at conferences or at stakeholder meetings or other location as relevant for the proper performance of the duties of the role.

About the Team

The WaterAid Global Policy and Research team is a mix of research, and thought leadership in their portfolio areas, and influencing global and national policy-making processes. 

About the Role

As our Policy Advisor –Research and Data Monitoring you will support the highest standards of research development, analysis and communication of data relating to the water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) sector. 

In this role, you will lead high-level analysis and quality assurance of WASH data use as well as management research resources, include the Research and Evidence Bank, the Research Tracker and the Statistics Bank.

You’ll also: 

• Contribute to the design and commissioning of research projects to support advocacy, campaigns, media communications
• Oversea and manage small research projects – facilitating the sharing of research outputs and learnings within GPAC and across the organisation
• Work closely with GPAC colleagues and other WaterAid UK departments and ensure that information on commissioned research projects and learnings are shared widely across the WaterAid Federation (Australia, Canada, India, Japan, Sweden, UK, and USA)
• Play an active role in the research team, support colleagues and provide feedback as required and support any other relevant processes within the remit of the Policy team and GPAC in general

Requirements

To be successful, you’ll need: 

• Excellent numerical skills and understanding of data and statistics, including an ability to seek the latest data from regular sources and to access new sources of data relevant to WaterAid’s work
• Strong analytical, research and writing skills (English language)
• An entrepreneurial approach to supporting influencing work, including the ability to take the initiative and rapidly adapt work plans to seize new and unforeseen opportunities.
• Working style that reflects WaterAid’s values of Respect, Accountability, Courage, Collaboration, Integrity and Innovation
• Proven ability to work and communicate effectively across diverse cultures in a matrix organisation
• Masters’ degree, or post-graduate qualifications and research experience; in relevant discipline; including statistics, economics, geography, maths, statistics, and international development
• Excellent IT (Information Technology) skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Power BI

Although not essential, we also prefer you to have:

• A successful track record of developing high quality research work
• Good knowledge of the WASH and development sectors
• Experience of working in research for public policy and/or advocacy on policy issues
• Project management skills
• Ability to build the networks and coalitions needed to drive an effective change agenda - especially with major international agencies (multilateral development banks, United Nations agencies, OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development) etc.), governments and NGOs (Non-Governmental Organizations)
• Fluency in French, Portuguese or Spanish
