You will play a pivotal role supporting the Charity in several different ways. Working with the Senior Leadership Team, you will ensure the smooth running of the organisation, providing administrative support to the Director of Operations and the Chief Executive. As a self-starter you will manage a range of tasks such as diary management, meeting minutes, assisting with event administration and HR administration. No two days will be the same!
You will be the point of contact for our HR, recruitment and training systems, ensuring consistency and assurance across the organisation. You will support HR administration such as supporting recruitment, on-boarding and off-boarding of colleagues as well as taking minutes for Board meetings, so you will need to be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
As a team player, you will provide comprehensive, confidential and sensitive people-orientated administration support, developing a deep understanding of our organisation, our work and build strong, effective working relationships with colleagues.
Remote working at home can be challenging for some and for others, it works incredibly well. You will need to be able to work on your own, use your own initiative and ensure you are proactive in maintain good levels of communication and contact with your colleagues to ensure we deliver the best service possible to people with ME.

Operations Assistant (Full Time – Office Based)
Job Purpose:
The Operations Assistant provides support to the HR and Operations Manager by taking day to day responsibility, under guidance, for various facilities, safety and administrative processes, including HR administration, as well as responsiblity for locking/unlocking of meeting rooms, routine health and safety tasks and other matters that contribute to making the office a pleasant and functional environment in which to work.
The duties will also include giving regular support to the Fulfilment Manager and under their guidance, process orders and support with despatch and deliveries, in addition to providing holiday cover, when the Fulfilment Manager is away.
Many aspects of this role require Manual Handling.

Main duties:

Update internal HR databases, such as PeopleHR and employee files

Supporting parents beyond the school gate

Parentkind has responded to this moment with compassion, agility and purpose, through a series of transformative campaigns, resources, and partnerships.
Our No Cold Child initiative with FatFace stepped in to address a stark statistic: over 150,000 children in the UK do not own a winter coat due to poverty. Through our trusted relationships with schools we distributed 10,000 warm, high-quality coats worth £600,000 to the children who needed them most. Winning the Business Charity Awards ‘Fashion & Retail’ Award, and shortlisted for two further awards, the campaign has been praised not just for providing warmth, but for restoring dignity, inclusion, and school readiness to thousands of children.
The All Dressed Up campaign—developed with World Book Day and Rubies Masquerade—confronted the often-overlooked issue of financial exclusion on key celebration days. More than 100,000 free dressing up costumes worth £1.34 million were delivered to children from low-income families. By enabling participation in events like World Book Day, we helped spark imagination, joy, and belonging for children who might otherwise feel left out—boosting self-esteem and supporting a positive connection to learning.Furthermore, helping attract children into school on a day which often sees struggling parents keep their children at home.
Alongside these national campaigns, Parentkind supports families year-round through a growing suite of programmes designed to inform, prepare and empower parents. Our Be School Ready programme offers crucial guidance and confidence to parents preparing their children for the leap into primary education. With a mix of practical advice, developmental tips, and reassurance, through the distribution of 150,000 copies of Be School Ready and an online campaign, it supports families at one of the most formative moments in their child’s life.
We also deliver a wide-ranging series of live expert webinars and parent-friendly resources, covering topics such as managing anxiety, supporting special educational needs, navigating school transitions, and building home-school partnerships. These resources, developed in consultation with experts and rooted in lived parent experience, equip families to feel informed and empowered, no matter what challenges arise.
Our direct support of schools
Our collaboration with Asda on Cashpot for Schools is another example of unlocking support at scale. This innovative community-led funding model allowed shoppers to nominate and fund their local schools simply through everyday spending. This campaign has generated £5.78 million for schools during the past twelve months, supporting everything from basic classroom supplies to vital extracurricular programmes and pupil wellbeing initiatives. Also shortlisted for a Business Charity Award, it is already a model for community-driven philanthropy.
In April, we launched our Parent-Friendly Schools Accreditation Programme, designed to formally recognise schools that go above and beyond in fostering positive, inclusive relationships with parents. The accreditation celebrates schools that actively listen to parent voices, make engagement easy and accessible, and embed family partnership in their culture. It is a practical and inspiring tool to drive long-term change in the sector and offers a roadmap for schools wanting to strengthen their community.
Our focus on Policy & Research
Our work is grounded in evidence. Since 2023, we have conducted the UK’s largest annual parent survey: the National Parent Survey. With approaching 6,000 participants providing 130,000 bits of data to provide invaluable insights into the struggles, concerns, hopes and fears of parents. The findings are fed directly into government consultations and have already informed national debates on school funding, attendance, mental health support, SEND provision, and curriculum reform.
In each of the past two years the number of policymakers, educators, parents and researchers accessing the National Parent Survey exceeded seven thousand, and the survey featured in more than two hundred media outlets each year. In addition to the National Parent Survey, Parentkind undertakes representative polling of parents throughout the year on a variety of important topics, which increasingly find exposure in the media and policy discussion.
Parentkind provides the secretariat for the Westminster APPG for Parents and the Stormont APG for Parental Participation in Education. Two very successful parliamentary groups bringing together policymakers and a variety of stakeholders to consider the challenges faced by parents and act as a voice for them through a variety of policymakers.
Our Media Engagement
Since becoming recognised as the UK’s largest parent charity, with likely more groups and frontline volunteers than the Scouts or Girlguiding, Parentkind has gained increasing prominence in the media.Beyond the reach of the National Parent Survey and our regular polling, Parentkind receives frequent requests for quotes of reflection and input by media in relation to their journalism and from Government and non-Government entities in support of policy announcements.
Beyond this, the Parentkind community of volunteers and PTAs share local or regional media announcements of their own.Whether or not it celebrating the completion of large projects they have invested countless hours and thousands of pounds into realising, or the community event they have worked into the night to deliver for their school communities.
It will be your role to take this much further, gaining increasing exposure for the work of Parentkind, its community, and parents more broadly.

- We are a small, fast paced team, there are no line management responsibilities attached to the role. We’re looking for someone with a “roll up your sleeves up and get on with it” mentality.
- Being able to demonstrate you can sell our parent voice research and amazing existing data to media across broadcast, social media and print media
- Being able to lead and deliver a plan to raise our profile on social media, broadcast and in print media
- A good understanding of the challenges faced by children and families, education debates and education policy, we are the voice of parents.
- We are a cross party charity and we work with all parties, we want someone who understands that approach and brings it to their work.
- Someone who can to respond to social media debates at pace and make sure are part of the debate.
- Experience of writing compelling written documents when 100 words would make a stronger case than 1,000. You can bring evidence to life and make an argument to convince.
- Someone with experience of appearing on broadcast media and willing to be a ‘talking head’ for Parentkind as required. This is not essential, but it would be great to have someone willing to do this.
Your mission is to massively increase our online, in print and social media presence with a specific focus on policy, research and impact, to make us the highest profile parent charity in the UK. We have a huge amount of data on what parents think and we need you to get it seen. This is a great job for someone who wants to grab hold of a “comms” function and make it their own.

We are seeking a part-time Money Skills Coordinator to help us deliver our ambitious plans to equip more individuals with money skills. The primary purpose of this role is to manage Crosslight’s money skills courses that are attended by the local community as well as our debt advice clients. These are delivered online or in-person in a range of different locations across our network.
The role holder will take ownership of the planning and running of our money skills workshops, including setting them up on our systems. They will also act as a ‘champion’ for the courses, promoting them internally and externally, including through community engagement and outreach in different locations. And they will have the opportunity to deliver some of our workshops, as well as supporting and equipping our volunteers to do so to a high standard.

RESPONSIBLE FOR
Overseeing Operations at every level of the organisation, with line management responsibility for some of the team, Project and Workstream Coordinators (approximately 5 direct reports) plus some external consultants and contractors.

LOCATION OF THE POST HOLDER
The post holder will be predominantly remote working but will be required to attend the head office and drop-in in Manchester, drop-in spaces in Glasgow and London, and support staff members nationally. The post involves some travel throughout the UK and some work outside of office hours. All equipment required for remote working will be provided and costs for travel will be covered.
ROLE SUMMARY
We are looking for a Finance and Operations Manager to support the CEO in the day-to-day running of our charity. The NUM CEO develops the overall vision of the organisation, while the Operations Manager is responsible to carry out the vision.
To be successful in this role, you should have experience as a manager in a position of public trust, have excellent financial, organisational, and communications skills, as well as being a problem-solver with work experience in high-pressure work environments. The Finance and Operations Manager must be versatile in their understanding of the larger vision and as well as the fine details and tactics needed to achieve NUM's goals.
The successful candidate will work in an agile manner to ensure the charity continues to be proactive and innovative, while also being responsive to the changing landscape within the sector and the international sex worker rights and safety movement. As part of supporting the operations of NUM, the successful candidate will provide resources, information and support to NUM Managers and Coordinators across diverse projects, workstreams and teams, to achieve aspects of the organisation’s mandate of 'ending all forms of violence against sex workers' and eliminating the conditions that lead to poverty and survival sex work.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

At least 3 years' work experience as a Manager, Project or Programme Manager or similar role that requires oversight of a whole system, business, operation or organisation Experience leading remote or hybrid teams is desired. This includes time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks, lead team meetings and support members to manage resources, timelines and project budgets, etc.

At least two years’ experience in grant writing and fund development, as well as in financial management, with a demonstrated ability to co-develop budgets, cashflow forecasts and financial reporting as well as oversee banking activities and work with accountants and Trustees to ensure NUM’s financial health.

Knowledge of the charity sector, the day-to-day running of a charity, business or similar organisation, and familiarity with the work of National Ugly Mugs and other sex worker-serving and sex worker-led organisations.

Excellent leadership and delegation skills and experience.

Ability to support and execute on elements of NUM's policies and strategic plan.

Experience and training in Safeguarding and the ability to integrate appropriate safeguarding into all aspects of NUM services.

Croydon BME Forum, in partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support, is tackling ethnic inequalities in health and social care through this “Can You C Me Project”. The Macmillan Team offers personalised support, information, and referrals for individuals affected by cancer, including families and carers, across six South West London boroughs: Croydon, Merton, Kingston, Wandsworth, and Richmond. Working within a team of three, you will be responsible for two boroughs, Croydon and Merton while supporting colleagues as needed.
As a Project Coordinator for the Can You C Me project, you will play a key role in engaging BME communities to enhance cancer awareness and support. Reporting to the Programme Manager, you will lead outreach initiatives, community engagement, and the organisation of project activities across Southwest London. Each coordinator is assigned a specific set of boroughs, collaborating closely with community organisations, faith groups, healthcare providers, and individuals affected by cancer.
Key Responsibilities
· Engage and build relationships with local communities, faith groups, and voluntary organisations to raise cancer awareness and improve support networks.
· Organise and deliver cancer awareness events, workshops, and outreach sessions tailored to community needs.
· Facilitate steering groups with professionals and individuals with lived experience to shape service delivery.
· Plan and coordinate two cancer conferences per year, ensuring they raise awareness, amplify voices, and drive meaningful change.

Brighton and Hove Speak Out is an innovative advocacy charity. We support people with learning disabilities to have a voice and choice and control over their lives by providing a range of advocacy services and community projects.
About the role
We are seeking to recruit an advocate for adults and young people (17+) with learning disabilities, who will:
- Deliver 1-1 advocacy casework on a broad range of issues that enables people with learning disabilities to express their views and wishes, understand their rights and options, communicate with professionals and address issues they face.
- Coordinate Speak Out’s Drop-in advocacy service, providing time limited 1-1 advocacy within drop-in sessions.
- Develop peer advocacy at drop-in sessions.
About you
The successful candidate will need excellent communication and organisational skills. They will be able to manage a complex workload and work independently within a framework of supervision. Experience of advocacy or work with vulnerable clients is essential. Experience of working with people with learning disabilities and knowledge of learning disability services is an advantage. A full induction and training will be provided as well as ongoing peer mentoring and support. It would be desirable for the successful candidate to hold the national qualification in independent advocacy, however this can be undertaken once in post.

Job Description
Purpose:
- Overall responsibility for the delivery of Chance to Shine’s events, ensuring each event is executed to the highest standard.
- To lead the planning, budgeting, sales and delivery of fundraising events at Chance to Shine ensuring each event maximises income and profit for the charity.
- To develop an events strategy to maximise income from fundraising challenge events.

Key Responsibilities
Event Management
- Project management of a full programme of events including cultivation dinners, annual awards receptions, and major fundraising events.

Event Planning
- Lead on the concept and design of new fundraising events.

A growing £1million turnover charity dedicated to the health and wellbeing of children and adults through the healing power of music have newly created a Head of Finance and Operations role. This role will drive organisational impact with a values driven approach towards financial strategy, resource optimisation, and operational excellence.

In this role you will embody Ada’s culture, being responsible for the wellbeing of the staff and attracting new talent as well as providing effective leadership and line management of the People function. Reporting directly into the CEO, you will act as a trusted, strategic partner, ensuring alignment on both organisation and people capabilities, fostering a culture of high performance and growth. You will regularly attend Executive Leadership Team (ELT) meetings and engage with Board Members and have the opportunity to harness the experience and expertise of some of our private sector pro bono supporters to drive forward the vital People Management agenda at Ada, which is a core pillar of our ‘Evolving to Ada 2.0’ strategy and critical to scaling our impact.
You will be responsible for leading the People and Talent team across our London and Manchester campuses, and ensuring relevant processes are followed as well as driving forward people management priorities and initiatives. This is a hands-on operational role that will also stretch your strategic thinking and planning skills. The role is expected to evolve in seniority as you build out the team underneath you in line with the College’s planned growth in learner volumes and staff headcount. The postholder will be expected to make regular visits to the college’s campus in Manchester/London.
Key responsibilities of this role include:
● Management -
○ Partner the Executive Leadership Team to lead on the implementation of Ada’s people management strategy as part of our new organisational strategy.
○ You will set clear priorities and focus areas for the People team, effectively managing performance, and supporting development.
○ Provide effective day-to-day support for the Executive Leadership Team and line managers to ensure the College runs smoothly, is attracting ever an ever better quality of candidates for vacant roles and is HR compliant at all times.
○ Design and implement initiatives that enhance employee satisfaction and retention, promoting a positive and inclusive culture for Ada.
● Building our Employer Brand -
○ Working with internal and external stakeholders, work to ensure we significantly improve our ability to attract and retain the best talent in a competitive market.
Create a transparent and authentic brand externally to help Ada to welcome more amazing people.
● Employee Relations -
○ Advise line managers and staff on best practices for managing employee relation cases and conflict resolution using external best practice and up to date legislation.
○ Partner with the ELT on complex, high risk cases or disputes to deliver a pragmatic outcome that reduces risk to Ada.
○ Stay up to date with relevant employment laws and regulations, and ensure compliance in all employee activities while upholding Ada’s organisational values.
● Policies & Procedures -
○ Provide support and guidance to line managers and the Executive Leadership Team. Acting as a trusted advisor in all cases including performance management, conflict resolution and disciplinary cases ensuring Ada’s policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.
○ Act as the leader on topics/requests related to policies, employment law and compliance.
○ Ensure policies and procedures are reviewed regularly and are up to date.
● Systems & Processes -
○ Provide support on change management programmes including restructures, ensuring change processes are implemented smoothly and risks are identified and mitigated in a timely manner.
○ Drive adoption of the recently implemented HR platform (i.e. AccessHR). Ensure all staff adhere to the agreed processes including performance management.
Plans are to effectively link performance management to reward and recognition.
○ Proactively review existing processes and identify areas to introduce efficiencies.
● Diversity & Inclusion - Partner with the Executive Leadership Team, and lead on the implementation of the EDI action plan. In time, evolve this into a more formal strategy that ensures Ada remains an inclusive and welcoming employer across our campuses for all our staff and other stakeholders.
Key Skills and experience required
- A minimum of 4 years previous People/HR generalist and partnering experience preferably with some experience of working in schools, colleges, universities, training providers or education management organisations.
- Level 7 CIPD qualified, or similar experience is essential Demonstrable experience of improving talent attraction, selection and development
- Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of UK employment law and experience in handling complex ER cases, Employment Tribunals, ACAS Conciliations and Settlements.
- Demonstrable experience of working with leaders on complex people related issues.
- High level of integrity, discretion and confidentiality.
- Evidence of delivering HR solutions, including strategic HR initiatives and change projects.
- Strong problem solving and decision making ability, with a proactive and solutions oriented mindset and approach.
- Excellent leadership skills with a track record of building and/or maintaining a high-performance culture and role modelling excellent behaviours.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
- Highly collaborative with the ability to work effectively with colleagues across the function, showing a united front to stakeholders.
- Ability to balance commercial outcomes with mitigation of business risks.
- Willingness to travel to the different College sites on a monthly basis, often involving overnight stays

Approved Premises (APs) work with high-risk people released from prison, providing a vital element in public protection arrangements. APs offer a level of contact, support and supervision within the community that is unique within the Criminal Justice System. This is an opportunity to be part of a dedicated, enthusiastic staff team at our male Approved Premises in Battersea, playing a key role in pro-social modelling, rehabilitation and community reintegration for those ready to make positive choices.
Working closely with Probation Officers and other community services such as police, health, housing and substance misuse, we provide a stepping stone from prison into the community.
As a member of the Approved Premises team, you will model pro-social behavior and foster a positive, respectful culture with both clients and colleagues. You will actively engage with residents, supporting communal activities such as meal preparation, and contribute to the delivery of individual sentence plans in collaboration with probation officers, police, and external agencies.
Your role will involve providing administrative and practical support, ensuring daily tasks are completed, and following all operational protocols. You will encourage compliance and enforce rules relating to curfews and drug and alcohol testing as required. Keeping colleagues, multi-agency partners, and management informed is essential.
You will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the health, safety, security, cleanliness, and well-being of the premises and residents, utilizing tools such as CCTV, observation, and direct personal contact. Accurate, timely record-keeping and appropriate information sharing with respect for confidentiality are critical components of this role.
Using your initiative, you will identify and address additional tasks or emerging issues, working within the service to maintain an enabling environment. Adherence to the Approved Premises Manual, Hestia policies, and relevant justice service requirements is expected, alongside consistently demonstrating The Hestia Approach.
This role involves working closely with high-risk offenders transitioning from prison to community life, providing a unique level of daily support, supervision, and tailored interventions. You will empower residents to take responsibility for themselves while maintaining appropriate boundaries and supervision. The position operates on a rolling rota covering early, late, weekend, and night shifts to ensure continuous support and public protection.
