About the Role

In this role, you will:

• Support young people aged 18–25 to understand and manage the emotional and mental health impacts of trauma.
• Deliver one-to-one and group interventions focusing on emotional safety, self-regulation, and resilience building.
• Develop individual emotional wellbeing plans and provide practical support to access health services.
• Provide trauma-informed training to upskill staff and volunteers within Pure Insight and wider social care services.
• Advocate for young people, liaising with other professionals and agencies to meet their mental health needs.
• Manage referrals into our Fast Track Trauma Counselling service.
• Create social spaces, including blog and social media contributions, to promote peer connection and mental health awareness.
• Safeguard and protect the wellbeing of the young people you support, following Pure Insight’s safeguarding policies.

This role supports the Newham Together Café in delivering out-of-hours support to adults experiencing or approaching a mental health crisis. You will provide short-term, person-centred support through 1:1 sessions, safety and recovery planning, and wellbeing activities, and by signposting to local services.

You will help create a safe space that promotes wellbeing, reduces isolation, and prevents escalation to emergency or statutory mental health services. The role also involves maintaining accurate records, building relationships with community partners, and contributing to the ongoing development of the service.

What you’ll do 

• Provide emotional support, crisis de-escalation and wellbeing interventions to clients.
• Create a welcoming, calm, and warm environment for clients.
• Empowering clients to engage effectively in their liaisons with professionals within the community mental health teams, social work teams, housing providers, health professionals, Job Centre Plus, etc., through personalised signposting and referrals

About this exciting opportunity
As Women’s Wellbeing Coach, you will provide person-centred, holistic, and trauma-informed support to female adults serving custodial sentences or Community Orders. This includes conducting trauma-informed assessments and collaboratively developing action plans that align with prescribed outcomes.

The role involves delivering a range of tailored interventions, including group sessions, to help service users achieve their goals. Building and maintaining effective partnerships with external agencies such as Probation, Prisons, and other relevant organisations is essential to support positive outcomes. You will be expected to meet contractual targets within agreed timescales and uphold high-quality standards, accurately recording all casework activity on relevant databases. A proactive commitment to continuous learning and development is also key to ensuring the delivery of a consistently high-quality service for all service users.

What we are looking for

• Proven ability and experience as a caseworker delivering gender specific and trauma responsive interventions which support resettlement and rehabilitation of female adults in the criminal justice system whether in the community or in prisons.
• Experience of working with females and supporting them to achieve positive outcomes.
• Experience of engaging successfully with challenging people, for example people who have complex needs, people who are reluctant to discuss their needs, and people who are angry and confused
• Experience in delivery of 1:1 and group coaching solutions, including preparation and delivery of skills and learning.
• Experience in working with partner agencies either as part of a multi-agency team working towards common objectives or negotiating to establish links to further the aims of a project.

Our members are looking for an enthusiastic indovidual to join our Network Hope Activities team as staff cover for 9 months.

You will work under the direction of the Project Manager and alongside, tutors to deliver activities, support networks, health and wellbeing and training support to beneficiaries and to recruit, train and support a network of volunteers to facilitate the support groups. 

The role will involve collaboration with other local businesses and third sector organisations to deliver the activities. This Project’s aim is to support vulnerable disabled people (including those with learning disabilities, autism and those affected by mental health issues and their families) through consistent provision of health and wellbeing activities, pathways into employment training, sport and social activities, advice, signposting and peer support based both at our Resource Centre in W10 and out in the community.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES  
 
1. Supporting Tutors, volunteers, senior staff and beneficiaries 
 
Utilising EPM’s resources to lead in locally sourcing beneficiaries and volunteers from the local community. Liaise with the NHS and Social Services, partner providers and schools, colleges, community centres, voluntary organisations and referral agencies. 

· Facilitate and support local support groups, 

· Plan, arrange and run a variety of activities and training programmes. 

· Recruit and support a network of volunteers to co-facilitate support groups and activities 

· Under the direction of The Project Manager conduct home visits to assess the needs of the families and inform them of support available through Network Hope. 

· Arrange the selection and delivery of healthy food and drinks and running the catering and gardening training groups. 

· Work with sports and fitness tutors to ensure all equipment used in sports/fitness sessions are secure and meet health and safety standards. 

· Coordinate and oversee respite and peer group support to the families. 

· Develop, monitor, update and review individual action plans for all beneficiaries. 

· Conduct evaluation reports (including case studies) and work with senior management to collate the information. 

· Assist senior management in leading  advisory group meetings and lead/facilitate local support group meetings.

You will provide tailored, person-centred support using a recovery model, ensuring our services are flexible and responsive to individual needs while meeting the expectations of our commissioners and stakeholders.

Your focus is on successful community reintegration and a sustained quality of life, guided by a recovery model that enables clients to live, work, learn, and participate fully in their communities through interactive and preventative approaches. We provide intensive accommodation-based support (six flats) and floating support (dispersed flats) designed to address the complex and challenging needs of our residents and participants.

We are looking for a Housing Mobile Night Worker to provide floating support to our teams in high support 24-hour services as well as medium support and transitional housing units to ensure our properties are safe, secure, and welcoming through the night.

You will be based at Lansworth House in Hove and will support the static night worker there during the night as well as undertaking your mobile duties across Brighton, Hove and Worthing.

Working on site you will be responsible for ensuring the service is safe by keeping clear records of night time activity within the building. You will regularly complete building checks and monitor CCTV upkeeping health and safety regulations in accordance with YMCA DLG's policies and procedures.  You will work to prevent any anti-social behaviour from impacting our neighbours and other residents. You will work alongside other support staff to maximise the wellbeing of residents by completing one to one interventions with young people who may be experiencing mental health crisis and/or who may need medical assistance.

This role involves lone working, so you will need to be comfortable with decision making and following procedures. However, before joining the rota you will have the opportunity to get to know the team and the services, take part in an induction, complete the necessary training, and undertake shadow shifts to ensure you feel confident and supported.

We're looking for an Engagement Worker to join our residential service based in Havering which is a 25 bed, 24 hour service delivering support to adults who have multiple and complex needs within a supported accommodation setting. You will support with various aspects within the service, with a focus on providing social contact and company to help enhance quality of life, personal safety, health and security, sustainment of tenancy and improving financial independence. You will support our residents to gain the relevant skills and knowledge to gain greater independence, supporting them back into the community. 

You will be at the forefront of delivering a trauma-informed, person-centred service, supporting individuals through rehabilitation, reablement, and resettlement. This includes assisting with engagement activities, developing support plans, and providing access to appropriate interventions to help residents move towards independence.

Casual Worker / Bank Staff (Substance Misuse)

We are looking for someone mature, motivated and caring to provide tailored person-centred support to our residents in their recovery journey. If you have a heart to see people overcome substance misuse - to reset, recover, and restore their lives - please join our dynamic team.

You will be providing support to men individually or in a group - men who are overcoming substance abuse issues, helping them to achieve their personal goals in all areas of life (behaviour, health, faith etc.). You will therefore have great inter-personal skills and the ability to implement firm but caring boundaries. In addition, you will be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks, including updating records, checking leave and visit applications, and managing the Manor during weekends and overnight.

This is a part-time role on zero hours contract, including occasional evenings and weekends.

37.5 hours per week / £27,770 per annum / permanent / working onsite on a seven-day rolling rota, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

Our mission is to help children and young people have a fair chance to be who they want to be. We do this by providing a safe home, increasing life skills and self-confidence, and improving emotional wellbeing and mental health.

Crawley Foyer provides 24-hour supported housing services offering medium levels of housing-related support for young people aged 16-25 with 38 bedspaces and shared communal facilities. We adopt a trauma informed and psychologically informed approach to supporting our residents to help them build essential life skills, identify their goals and work towards aspirations so that they can move on to enjoy fully independent futures. We have a dedicated team of Support Workers, Night Workers and additional Bank Workers who provide support, guidance, and signposting around areas such as housing, budgeting, living skills, jobs, relationship building and wellbeing. Situated in the centre of Crawley, the service has strong links with and contributes to the local community.

Each Support Worker holds a caseload of residents and meets with them weekly to build a support plan and help them achieve their goals.

We are looking for a Supported Housing Support Worker to join our Crawley Foyer team. Main areas of responsibilities are:

Housing:

• Coach young people to manage their occupancy agreement and adhere to house rules, in preparation for independent living
• Promote a credit culture, encouraging young people to keep up to date with all payments for rent
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of housing and welfare benefits for young people and be well-informed on significant changes to housing law
• Deal effectively with non-compliance issues, such as non-payment of rent or damage to room, using restorative practices and working collaboratively with the rest of the team

Coaching and Engagement:

• Coach young people so they can articulate their aspirations and ambitions and take the lead in acquiring the skills they need to live independent and fulfilling lives
• Ensure young people are encouraged to take responsibility for their own personal development, to engage with the services on offer and build strong networks and connections within the local community 
• Ensure consistent standards of safeguarding and Trauma Informed Practice when supporting young people, observing our safeguarding procedures, and keeping yourself and residents safe by respecting professional boundaries
• Maintain client records on In-Form (client database) detailing the young person’s journey in relation to their strengths and needs, any risks, and any outcomes (to monitor service performance)

General:

• Work as part of a team, on a rota shift pattern, ensuring young people at the service have non-judgemental, objective, and supportive staff during the day/evening, along with taking responsibility for personal safety during periods of lone working
• Contribute to a great working environment, with a calm, yet assertive manner, being able to handle potentially difficult situations
• Participate in relevant continuing professional development and utilise Reflective Practice Supervision as part of leading psychologically informed practice

Experience and Knowledge:

• Experience relating to housing, support work, and/or working with young people at risk
• Experience of working proactively with a caseload of young people with multiple and complex needs to enable them to achieve independent living
• Knowledge of statutory and voluntary resources available to young people with multiple and complex needs
• Knowledge of good safeguarding procedures in relation to young people and the ability to maintain effective professional boundaries
• Demonstrated confidence and competence in recording notes/actions in service log, incident forms and health and safety check lists

Skills and Abilities: 

• Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing for appropriate recording of a resident’s progression, and to evidence outcomes achieved
• Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders, including signposting and advocating for clients as necessary
• Ability to work autonomously, and use own initiative, as well as being part of a team
• Clear verbal and written communication skills, good IT, and keyboard skills
• Ability to de-escalate volatile situations and manage challenging behaviour appropriately
