Job Summary

To be the initial point of contact for customers accessing Huddersfield Mission services. To provide initial stage advice and assistance on a variety of needs. To work within the Advice Team to ensure the smooth running of Huddersfield Mission’s drop-in service, responding to requests for advice and support to customers and triaging them to the correct team member for support.

Main Responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for clients referred in to the service, ensuring that comprehensive impact and risks assessments are completed and a tailored response to each client’s needs is provided.
• To ensure the effective delivery of the Mission advice drop-in, telephone support service and appointments service
• Maintain accurate and confidential case management records and contribute to monitoring information for the service
• To make onward referrals and signpost where appropriate to other sources of help, such as statutory and non-statutory agencies
• To work with our Community Champion and other health partners to support customers underlying health needs particularly where these might be addressed with community-based intervention.
• To ensure impartiality and confidentiality when dealing with customers
• Regularly update electronic case records using our Lamplight – our CRM system to enable continuity of casework, monitoring and information retrieval.

 Organisational Responsibilities

• To work in a non-judgemental, person-centred, asset-based way to enable customers to achieve positive outcomes, such as maximising income or accessing health and wellbeing services.
• A commitment to safeguarding children and adults at risk and to take appropriate action, in line with our Safeguarding Policy and procedures under the direction of our Designated Safeguarding Leads.
• To manage customer behaviour within the Mission policy.
• To implement and adhere to all Mission policies and practices in relation to all aspects of our work
• Any other duties and responsibilities, identified by the Advice Services Manager as are within your capabilities and level of responsibility, in order to meet the needs of the Huddersfield Mission
• To participate in meetings at the Mission, to promote partnership working with other support services within Kirklees
• To liaise with internal and external agencies where appropriate, including safeguarding referrals.

The role of the Outreach & Development Worker is to ensure carers of all ages and backgrounds are aware of their rights and know how to receive support from Gaddum and other services they need at the right time for them.

The job holder will provide outreach & support sessions, deliver groups and events for carers and other relevant partners across Salford. Creating exciting new opportunities for carers through networking and building partnerships.

The role will focus on the outreach provision, being based in different locations across Salford including hospitals, community venues, mental health settings and others accessed by people with caring responsibilities. The role will include supporting the continued development of the service, assisting with the creation of resources and training. The role will also support our involvement offer; ensuring carers are at the forefront of service change and service delivery.

The Role

Richmond Carers Centre, a network partner of the Carers Trust, is a registered charity providing information, support, advice and a voice for carers living and caring in London Borough of Richmond upon Thames.

Helping Carers to Live Well is our organisational aim. We provide a targeted service to young carers, aged 5 – 18 years. Young carers, provide vital emotional and practical support to a family member with a care need including sibling young carers. Their care role can have an impact on their wellbeing, education and social opportunities. We are looking for someone with the skills and ability to offer a coordinated approach in supporting young carers in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames.

As Young Carers Support Worker you will be part of a small, dedicated team which directly deliver a range of services for young carers, including information and advice, emotional support and mentoring, promoting awareness of young carers and delivering a wide selection of group activities, both term-time and in the school holiday programme. Using all your skills, you will work with the young carers’ team to deliver, review, and continually develop services for young carers to best meet their identified needs.

With your proven knowledge of working with children and young people, families, carers or other vulnerable groups on an individual and/or group basis, you will recognise the importance of being client focused and have a commitment to enhance the lives of young carers and their families, including knowledge and awareness of sibling young carers and vulnerable families. About the Role

The Assistant Reserves Officer is one of our team managing and developing the Trust’s nature reserves for people and wildlife.  Your work place includes internationally recognised wetlands and woodlands along with nationally important meadows, chalk grasslands and heathland across Hertfordshire and Middlesex.

You will need to have strong experience in practical habitat management, including the use of power tools and machinery, such as chainsaws, brush cutters and BCS mowers. You will have experience of working within a dynamic team and leading volunteers. You will need to have a keen interest in wildlife and preferably a knowledge of the habitats in our area.

No two days are the same as an ARO at HMWT; you will get the opportunity to utilise and develop your practical habitat management skills across our nature reserves including tree felling, coppicing, scrub clearance, hay cutting and pond/ditch management. You will also undertake the maintenance of site infrastructure; assist with the management of livestock; and perform surveying and monitoring of habitat/species, tree safety and infrastructure. These tasks will be delivered working closely with members of the nature reserves team; our volunteer wardens and our practical conservation volunteers.

Willingness to travel throughout our work area and flexibility to work occasional irregular hours is required for this post.

You will promote the IRIS programme and offer training to GP practice staff, as well as providing one to one emotional and practical support to a caseload of clients experiencing domestic abuse.  IRISi is an evidence-based domestic abuse training and referral programme developed specifically for general practice, currently being delivered across 30+ areas of England and Wales. The Position

The Director, People Team works closely with Executive Director and the European Senior Leadership Team (ESLT) to lead the European People Team. Essential Responsibilities

•Advocates for and represents all areas of Mercy Corps’ People strategy. Actively participate as a strategic leader and member of the Mercy Corps Europe (MCE) senior leadership team and People Team SLT.

•Works with the Executive Director to guide the overall vision and approach of the People Team in MCE, delivering clear actionable plans aligned with needs and the context for MCE, and gain support/ownership for that agenda with key stakeholders.

•Build a strong, people-focused team in Europe characterized by high-level of trust, engagement, innovation and creativity who are aligned to the vision and have the skills and motivation to deliver it.

•Strategically develops and manages cross-departmental and cross-functional relationships and activities to ensure that the people function is well integrated into wider agency objectives.

•Design, develop and lead the People function for Mercy Corps in Europe, supporting the Executive Director in Europe to deliver on the European Strategic Plan.

•Oversee the expansion of MCE into new countries in Europe and ensure full HR compliance in all European legal jurisdictions in which Mercy Corps operates. 

•Set and track annual KPIs as part of the three-year strategic plan for Mercy Corps in Europe, providing this data monthly and quarterly to the Executive Director in Europe and supporting with reporting to the Board as required. 

•Lead the compensation benchmarking across all European markets and benchmark individual roles within the pay bands, ensuring there are clear guidelines for all staff on how to position staff within bands, support career development and ensure staff are trained to manage staff according to the Mercy Corps progression approach.

Minimum Qualifications & Transferable Skills

•10 years of Human Resources experience in global roles with a bachelor’s degree in HR or related field.

•Understanding of the HR legal requirements in UK and mainland European countries, especially Belgium, Netherlands, Switzerland, and France. Knowledge of Germany an advantage.

•Exposure to INGO or similar international organisation is highly preferable.

Living / Environmental Conditions

This position is based in London or Edinburgh or remote home-working location in the UK and will be required to travel to Mercy Corps in Europe’s offices across the UK and the European continent to oversee team members and represent the organization’s European Senior Leadership Team. It requires up to 20% travel in support of Mercy Corps programs. This position may be asked to travel on occasion with little notice.

The service delivers a free confidential helpline for carers weekdays (Monday – Friday, currently 10am – 4pm).

The Role

You will work as part of a city-wide team of Early Help Development Workers as well as on a locality basis to ensure that they can combine targeted work with locality needs. About the role:  We are seeking to recruit a Counselling Services Coordinator to provide administrative support to our Counselling Services Manager and assist in the smooth running of our counselling programme. You will deal with referrals and carry out clinical counselling assessments in person and online to ensure that BCWA is the correct counselling service for the client.  You will liaise with our trainee counsellors and allocate clients to the counsellors based on suitability. You will manage our counselling waiting lists and ensure clients are kept informed.  You will ensure confidentiality and data security is maintained in relation to service user’s details, case records and supervision notes. Ideally you will have or be working towards a counselling qualification and/or have experience of providing trauma-informed support.

All staff have access to hot-desking at our offices as needed. We do our best to accommodate flexible working practices at BCWA. We are all women with busy lives and families, and we understand that flexibility can be crucial in supporting women in the workplace.
