A little bit about the role 

The role will sit in the Chief Social Worker’s directorate alongside our admissions and support, curriculum and delivery teams. These teams achieve our mission through assessing participants eligibility and  suitability, ensuring they are registered with our university partner in a timely way and by designing and delivering world class social work  education and training. ​

The EDI Lead is responsible for developing and implementing strategies, programmes, and initiatives that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the organisation. This role involves collaborating across teams and functions to ensure that EDI principles are integrated into all aspects of the work. They are responsible for fostering a culture of inclusion, holding people to account through knowledge and skills and create a brave space for challenging conversations.​

We are seeking a passionate and strategic leader with a deep commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion. You will have a proven track record of driving impactful EDI initiatives across the charity, private, or public sectors, with the ability to influence and inspire others through your actions and behaviours. Some key responsibilities include:

• Being a lead facilitator for reflexive spaces for colleagues running community spaces
• Providing outreach support for minoritised participants as needed
• Contributing to the review and design of our programmes in relation to EDI content
• Reviewing and consultation on all aspects of recruitment and admissions processes to ensure fairness and reduction in bias
• To be the lead anti discrimination advocate (ADAs) and facilitate regular group meetings to check in with the other ADAs

This is a brand-new role with the exciting opportunity to help shape and grow Save the Rhino International’s fundraising from high-net-worth individuals, charitable family trusts and foundations, and corporate partners who share our passion for conservation. As Senior Philanthropy and Partnership Manager, you will lead on building and managing relationships with both new and existing supporters, helping to secure significant funding to support our long-term goals.

You’ll be responsible for the full supporter and partner journey, from identifying and approaching new prospects, to developing tailored proposals, making personal asks, and delivering excellent stewardship. • Strategic planning and direction
  • Review and refine the philanthropy and partnerships objectives and targets within our 2025–2030 organisational strategy, annual workplans and budgets, with the aim of increasing five- and six-figure donations

Essential skills and experience

• Proven ability to design and implement fundraising strategies for high value donors, including developing cultivation, solicitation and stewardship plans
• Minimum 3 years’ fundraising experience with high net-worth individuals, family trusts and foundations and proven track record of securing and managing significant five and six figure donations
• Experience in developing stewardship and recognition strategies that deepen engagement and foster long-term support
• Knowledge of key sector regulations and guidance, including from the Charity Commission, Fundraising Regulator, and Chartered Institute of Fundraising, with a strong understanding of GDPR and data protection

3. About the role

Please note that this is a new role at Save the Rhino, which offers the chance to help raise vital funds for rhino conservation efforts in Africa and Asia. The Grants Officer will report to the Grants Manager, who in turn reports to the Grants Lead.

Raising funds for specific rhino conservation field programmes and projects in Africa and Asia is a key part of Save the Rhino’s work. In the financial year 2024-25, c. £2.6m in grants were made in response to donor-funded proposals that were drafted by the grants team. Producing good proposals and credible budgets depends on close liaison with Save the Rhino’s partners in the field to understand the issues that need to be addressed and the proposed approaches to tackle them. Receiving repeat grants from donors depends on consistently providing high-quality, relevant and timely reports that analyse the impact of the grants, as well as developing relationships with the donors built on mutual trust and understanding.

As part of Save the Rhino’s grants management team, the Grants Officer will benefit from the opportunity to learn about rhino conservation in the field, and best practice fundraising. The primary focus of the role will be to support the Conservation and Fundraising teams by drafting narrative and financial reports on grants from individuals, companies, grant-making trusts and foundations, zoos, and governments. In addition, the Grants Officer will also participate in internal and external discussions about project design, monitoring and evaluating impact, and help provide content for Save the Rhino’s website, print, and social media.

The primary responsibilities of the Grants Officer are to support the Grants Manager and Grants Lead, including:

Programme-facing

• In discussion with field programme partners, help develop project proposals and budgets that can be pitched to potential funders
• Set up report templates for grant recipients to complete
• Assist with monitoring and evaluating grant impact
• Support Save the Rhino’s annual risk assessment process, which involves due diligence of the recipients of our grants

Donor-facing

• Thank the donors of donations for specific programmes or projects of less than £1,000 made to Save the Rhino
• Adapt quarterly / biannual / annual grant reports from field programmes or projects, produced by the Grants Manager and/or Grants Lead, and tailor them to each donor’s requirements
• Manage grants from funds raised by the ForRangers initiative, including liaison with the ForRangers Advisory Board, and communicating the impact of those grants to participants in the annual ForRangers Ultra marathon
• Respond to donors’ requests for images, information, rhino facts etc. on request

Internal

• Participate in and minute weekly meetings to discuss news and priority needs from our partners in the field, grant management and reporting, grant application opportunities, communications opportunities etc.
• Provide compelling copy and images for Save the Rhino’s Communications team to produce content highlighting rhino conservation progress and the impact of donors’ grants
• Ensure all supporter and partner activity is accurately recorded in Save the Rhino’s database (Salesforce) and used effectively for relationship management
• Manage administrative tasks, including creating invoices, and tracking income and expenditure against the budget
• Uphold General Data Protection Regulation, data protection, and fundraising best practice to ensure that Save the Rhino’s fundraising is ethical, inclusive and legally compliant

General

• Participate in organisational monitoring, evaluation and learning processes
• Contribute to achieving organisational financial targets and return on investment
• Support the team with ad hoc event logistics, including, but not limited to, evening cultivation events, London Marathon, etc.

The Philanthropy Manager will join our recently established Philanthropy and Partnerships (P&P) team to help us develop and nurture a range of corporate and philanthropic relationships. Together, we will significantly increase our income in support of the world leading research, treatment, and care that takes place across our hospitals in areas such as: childhood cancer, rare diseases, neonatal and maternal health, children and young people’s mental health, and critical care.

We’re looking for an experienced Philanthropy Manager to play a pivotal role in securing significant philanthropic income from high-net-worth individuals and charitable trusts and foundations to support the vital work of our hospitals. Leading a team of three, this role is responsible for cultivating and managing existing high-value philanthropic relationships, expanding our high-value networks and further embedding a culture of philanthropy across our hospitals and charity.

The ideal candidate will have strong understanding and experience in working with high-net-worth individuals to secure 5-6 figure gifts. Communication skills (both verbally and in writing) ideally gained within a fundraising or sales/business development environment. They will be a self-starter with an appetite to make unsolicited approaches to individuals, along with the ability to develop and grow lasting relationships with high-net-worth individuals, charitable trust and foundations.  They will have strong time management skills, a motivation to work towards and achieve targets, and an appreciation of working for the NHS.

About this Role

ORCA are looking for an outstanding Training Manager to join their team and help the charity take the next step in the evolution of their programme of e-learning training courses to help more people than ever to help protect whales and dolphins.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about the power of education, a systems thinker who is able to take the e-learning system ORCA have built and maximise it's capabilities. A keen understanding of how to engage and inspire learners through digital channels and how to construct dynamic courses that maximise learning is key.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading ORCA's training programmes, developing content using expert knowledge from the wider ORCA team to train people from a variety of backgrounds about whale and dolphin conservation, including members of the public, experience ORCA volunteers and seafarers.

About the role

We are looking for a self-driven, highly motivated team player to join our HR department. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, this postholder will work closely with the two HR People Partners. The post holder will lead and manage all formal employee relations cases whether it be disciplinaries, grievances or complaints. They will also Project manage and deliver on HR projects including the development of new initiatives and HR policy updates.

Responsibilities

• To lead and manage employee relations activity across the charity by working closely with the key stakeholders.
• To provide guidance and advise senior managers in line with MSSC policies, employment legislation and ACAS Code of Practice regarding complex HR situations.
• To lead and take notes at all MSSC disciplinaries, grievances and formal complaints to support the process. These could include conduct, performance management/capability, absence management. grievances, bullying and harassment, discrimination, whistleblowing etc. 
• Ensure appropriate documentation of cases including file notes, correspondence, accurate meeting minutes etc, ensuring their employee file is kept up to date and organised.
• To provide support to the HR People Partners on broader ER issues, if necessary, such as absence management/OH referrals, performance management/PIPs.
• To support and assist the Director of HR and the team on a range of HR projects and initiatives.
• To develop, review and implement HR policies, procedures and guidance documents, ensuring legal compliance and best practice.
• Manage the appraisal process including launch communications, monitoring completions and reviewing forms for any ER issues and logging training needs.
• Lead the annual staff survey launch and collation and analysis of data.
• To cover for the Director of HR and other team members as required.

Requirements

• CIPD qualified or equivalent experience
• Strong experience of leading employee relations cases and advising senior management
• Strong knowledge of employment legislation and best practice
• Strong organisational skills – the ability to juggle a demanding workload and manage priorities and working under pressure and takes pride in producing high quality work

About the role

This role provides tactical and targeted support to our District teams as we seek to enable our volunteers to deliver training to both cadets and volunteers in line with the Sea Cadets Learning Strategy.  This post is responsible for supporting the delivery of the district training, including Royal Marine Cadet (RMC) training activity at Troop level. The work location can be flexible (home or office-based) requiring regular evening and weekend working supporting our volunteers by attending virtual meetings and delivering online training.

Responsibilities

• To provide functional support to our area Training Managers and District and RMC Troop Teams, ensure the district training plans are delivered, amended as necessary throughout the year, to the training plan and in line with identified training needed to best support the delivery of the Sea Cadet Experience.
• To support specific District Teams including the District Training Officer (DTO), District Recreational Officer/ Deputy District Officer (DRO/DDO), District Staff Officers (DSO), and RMC Troop Commanders (Trp Cdr) identified as requiring support under our change management process.
• To work closely with all District Officers to increase the number of certificated, current and competent instructors, and develop the capability and capacity of District Instructors to deliver training to cadets and volunteers across all Districts.
• To support the ATOs/DTOs/RMC Troops in all training matters (including uniformed and unit management teams) with a specific focus on Districts/Troops that need support.
• Support our Programmes and Virtual Training Manager with the co-ordination the of delivery of appropriate MSSC and other approved training packages (including BTEC, Duke of Edinburgh’s Award) appropriate to the age and experience of cadets across the organisation.
• Work under the leadership of our Assistant Director Sea Cadet Learning monitor performance against set targets set by the National Support Centre to ensure equitable access for cadets and adults to the Sea Cadet Experience.
