Overview
We are seeking an experienced Business Development & Proposal Writing Specialist to strengthen Sote Hub's fundraising, business development and strategic partnership efforts.
The ChangeMaker will work remotely with our leadership team to identify funding and business opportunities, develop compelling proposals and strengthen the organisation's capacity to secure institutional funding, corporate partnerships and commercial engagements.

Key responsibilities

1. Identify and research relevant funding opportunities, institutional partnerships, corporate engagements and commercial business opportunities.
2. Develop high-quality funding proposals, concept notes, expressions of interest and technical submissions.
3. Support the preparation of business development proposals, corporate partnership pitches, sales presentations and service offerings.
4. Review and strengthen Sote Hub's organisational pitch decks, capability statements and institutional profiles.
5. Support the development of partnership proposals and engagement materials targeting foundations, development partners, corporates and other strategic stakeholders.
6. Maintain a structured pipeline of funding and business development opportunities, tracking deadlines, requirements and submission progress.

Expected deliverables

• A prioritised database of at least 20 relevant funding and business development opportunities.
• At least three professionally developed funding proposals or concept notes.
• Improved organisational pitch deck and capability statement.
• A structured funding and business development opportunity tracker.
• Standardised proposal and corporate partnership templates.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate has professional experience in business development, fundraising, grant writing, proposal development, strategic partnerships or corporate sales.
Strong research, analytical writing, proposal development, communication and stakeholder engagement skills are essential. Experience working with development organisations, social enterprises, impact-driven businesses or international development programmes will be an added advantage.

Engagement: Remote, voluntary professional assignment, working closely with Sote Hub's leadership team over an agreed engagement period.
